Found a DSA FAL, 16.5" barrel, for $1050.

I have a DSA FAL and absolutely love it. Paid about the same for mine. Would love another one with a goal to put wood furniture on her.

Here's the description:

FAL STG 58 DSA 308cal Rifle 16" barrel. STG58 Austrian FAL Carbine Rifle, .308 Cal. New U.S. produced 16.25" Barrel with Steyr Short Flashider, STG58 Steel Handguard with Bipod Cut, Metric Synthetic FAL Buttstock & Pistol Grip, FAL Lite Bipod and Carry Handle. Comes shipped with 20rd magazine, sling and hard carry case.

So, is that a fair price today...? I would think it's a good deal.

I seem to remember the SA is better than the STG models, but don't recall why...

If it has the short gas system it is worth looking at.

From a reliability perspective, the 16-inchers with standard-length gas system can be a headache.
And the iron sights won't be even remotely regulated on the standard-length gas system with a 16-inch barrel.

Seems like a very fair-to-good price to me, but I wouldn't want that short a barrel with flash suppressor on a .308.

At AIM Surplus, right? The price is fair and they are good rifles. The 16" barrel with standard gas length is not the most reliable setup and has a huge gas port in the barrel. The 18" models are more reliable, add insignificant weight and of course 2" in length.
