I am a Wilson Combat CQB owner and I really like my Wilson's, but I have to say this is one great looking 1911. I really like that it has such a clean slide, only having the "Special Forces" text on one side and nothing on the other. I really like that there are no forward cocking serrations to detract from the look. I would really love to try the chainlink grip texture and see if it is as effective as the fine checkering on my Wilsons. According to the article his Gen III finish gives the gun a matte black coating.

Very Nice would'nt you say????

That is a nice looking pistol. But is the only real difference the "chain link" texture on the front strap and no front cocking serrations? It's all good for me - don't get me wrong - but what's so "special forces" about it? Am I missing something?

Seriously - sometimes I look at all these high end 1911's (I own a Baer and a Wilson) and all their different variants and have trouble finding anything but very subtle differences amonst models from the same manufacturer.

Nice look'in pistol. but I dislike the "chain link design" on the front and
backstrap of the weapon~!:( I previously owned a NIB Kimber Raptor
II with the "lizard like design", and it became a pain in the butt after
a few hundred rounds. Give me the "plain Jane" feel; or 30 lines per
inch checkering.;) I can live with that~! :D

Ed Brown pistols are super nice, probably the nicest IMO for Semi-custom makers. But, I gotta +1 on Dan for this one, its either checkering or nothin'! None of the fancy schmancy gills, fins, golfballs, honeycombs or whatnot for traction. Good ol' checkering provides the best grip. Or even... *gulp* skateboard tape :D

Very clean looking pistol though!

I like Ed Brown pistols (I've had several), but I'm a bit surprised to see one that says, "Special Forces" on the slide. Does it come with a secret decoder ring, too?

Don't like the chainlink treatment, either. It does not have the typical classy look, the other Ed Browns have.

Count me out, too.

(Of course, I never liked "Kobra Carry", being spelled with a "K". It just seemed kind of trendy to me. Guess I'm picky about 1911s.)
