Hi All,

I went over to my local firearms dealer today to look for a new Glock. I've been very pleased with my Glock 21 and would like to purchase a smaller one for concealed carry. I'm particularly interested in a Glock 30.

One thing I noticed about all of the Glock 30's I handled today (4) was that the polymer frame had "shiny" areas in several spots.. It was almost like someone at the factory had taken a dremel tool and worn down the finish in certain areas. Even the texture was different in these areas. It was most noticeable right below the slide stop and in that general area of the frame.

These markings were not present on any other Glock models I looked at or the Glock 21 that I already have.

Has anyone else seen this on new Glock guns before? These were brand new
guns, not used or demo models or anything.

Thanks for any hints/suggestions.

James

Did you notice if they were "Made in USA" frames?

Without a pic, I'm not sure what to tell you.

I'll keep my eye out next time i'm at a gun store, i haven't even seen one of the US made frames.

I noticed this on my brand new Glock 29 ( same as G30). I was thinking that maybe I had the only one like that, but it is reassuring to know that I'm not. Personally I wouldn't worry about it, hasn't affected my gun.

Hi Gunnut,

It was not a US made frame. (That was one of the things I was checking for while I was at the shop). If I had had my camera with me I would have taken a picture of it.

Greg8098, thanks for the comments. Any chance you might have a pic of your new G29?
