When you invent a gun that is nearly perfect from inception, such as the 1911 or Glock, you really don't have to introduce as many big changes.

Maybe they're finally going to build one that the slide can be removed when it won't go into battery, without disassembling half the gun.

The #78 was Gen and isn't sold anymore... or hasn't been available in years it seems.

For Gen 2, They improved perfection by adding the mostly useless saw back spline on the #81.

Removing the saw and adding finger grooves would follow Glocks Perfection (r)evolutiony path

.....I'm not an expert by any stretch... I was curiously looking to maybe get new retail 78 a yr ago but all the websites said discontinued.

I was looking for a 78 because of the poor reviews of the saw on he 81.... so I never bought one until........
.....Recently I bought an overpriced 81 at a little tiny outdoors store I try to shop at every time I stop in the little town.

I'm pretty sure the internet reviews will be correct.

I would have said the same once. Now, with iron sights starting to blur, the idea of an optical sight on a handgun is starting to sound pretty good...

My money's in one of two camps:

    External safety
or (and this is the exciting one)...they bought the rights to make their own 15 round mags in the 48.

    I'm betting on Gen 5's in .45acp and 10mm.

I would hope they wouldn't make such a hoopla over something like that, then again, this IS glock we are talking about so it is possible.

Whatever it is, I hope there is something new and different about it to reinvigorate the passionate hatred and anger some have for Glocks.

Would it matter..... they hate glock already and it certainly isn't because they have done anything new or different since the gen 1 17. Lol. I agree that the glock hate is the worst ive seen for any gun company personally

Anything less than G19 pattern pistol chambered in 9X18 Makarov will be a disappointment

How many more times is Glock going to improve on Perfection? Will the new slogan be "Improved Perfection" or "Perfection 8.0 and Counting"?

I got such a good kick out of your post Plan2Live. How about this one. Coming Soon, for Glock! PERFECTION! THIS TIME WE MEAN IT!

Actually I think one of the Small Glocks will have a 11, 13 rd magazine. Or 12, can't remember which one is the current leader now. Hellcat or Sig.

It's the Hellcat for the win, with 11 and 13 round magazines.

It's too soon for glock to get on the micro double stack train. History shows that glock is always years behind in releasing trending items. How long did we have the lcp, p3at, p238 etc, before we ever got a G42? How long did we have the shield, pf9, xds etc before we ever got a g43?

I'd say, look back to what was hot 5-6 years ago, and thats what we are gonna get.
