I just bought a G26. I took the slide off and noticed there is a copper colored substance, almost like spray paint, in the slide grooves and other places inside the slide  I am assuming it is some kind of grease. It is sparkly just like spray paint. Should I remove it and replace it with oil before shooting it?

its a lube that they use from the factory... its meant to be a one time use grease to work into the gun to make sure its lubricated well from the start. Wont hurt it if you leave it (recommended until you shoot it at least once) or clean it off and replace with oil. To prep a new glock I usually leave it for the first range trip, oil up the barrel and parts like normal, then after I get back from the range I will clean it all off and oil her up.

I use the copper lube on may of my guns It's also great when breaking in new custom, tight tollerance, 1911's. I also apply after cleaning my Glocks
