ordered a GSG-5 from Jays up here in Gaylord. they will have it ready for pickup this saturday (3 day wait). im tossing on the collapso-stock, a thicker foreend and a trijicon reflex sight on top.

anyone living in the northern michigan region, i strongly recommend you support Jays in Gaylord or Clare, they have given nothing but great service to my friends and i. the store in Clare is huge and has a wider selection but i only have good things to say about both store personnel

pics coming soon once i get ahold of her

$455, and with the 'rewards' card i have with them that entitles me to 1 point per dollar spent i get a $20 rebate for every cumulative 500 points. this purchase will get me another rebate so my optimism chalks this weapon up as costing me $435. id say if you can pick it up anywhere for under $500 you got a good deal

Yup, but it was quite a wait. They didn't tell me how many they got in, just called and said there was one with my name on it. Took a little over 2 months. Don't be surprised if there are none at the gun show. I haven't seen one yet at the last 5 I've been to.

just picked it up today, $449 out the door plus $35 for an extra mag. would have had it before the weekend but it missed the thursday truck haul. will mount the optics and should have a range report up tonite

theyll be up tonite after the red wings game. 250 shots fired at the range, only 1 mag jam. i shot slow and rapid fire, slammed it around a bit and did as much intentional shooter error to see where its weak points were. so far it seems the problem mentioned in many threads about it misfeeding when using the magazine as a grip is not an issue with mine. i ran through 2 mags while holding them and wiggling them during rapid fire. maybe its an all-around fix? pics will be up in a few hours

FINALLY pictures

here is fresh out of the box

and 3 mags worth of shots (72 rounds) at 25 yards, still getting used to her, but she was shot and tested with factory lube and only one pass with a boresnake before firing. this is what youre going to get out of the box (minus shooter error):

ill slap on a few pics on later for sh*ts and grins once the rest of the accessories arrive.
ending opinion: this is now probably the most fun weapon i own. if you dont have one yet, youre wrong.

Mine is also at 25 yds. 200 rds. Most of the "flyers" are rapid-fire fun. Hole in the center is rested. Single 9mm hole must have been the putz on the next lane. Haven't yet tried an optical sight, still deciding on using the one on my PLR-16, or just buying one at the gun show this weekend.

agreed, the store i bought mine from has had 5 in so far. they say one customer bought 2 of them at once, maybe one for each hand? or waiting until the demand is big enough and naming his own price... badass idea

I have to say it's really annoying to have people just walk into a gun shop and pick up something I had pre-ordered (with deposit)5 months ago and STILL don't have. I went ahead and canceled that order, I think I have more chance finding one at a gun show. Once I finally get my hands on one I'll be SBRing it and putting my real can on it :)

Enjoy the new toy, shoot some for me

Just got mine about a week ago. With work I haven't shot it yet. Just by looking at it it should be fun. I understand Gemtech is doing conversions on them for their suppressors. Might be worth looking into.

I feel your pain, like I said, mine took 2 months. The guy that I got it from told me he had the opportunity when they first came out to get about as many as he wanted. He just said to give him eight as he didn't think they would be any big deal. They all sold the same day. He now has a hard time getting them, and could really kick himself. And like I said, I've NEVER seen one at a gun show. I'm going to one tomorrow night. I'll let everyone know if they are starting to show up.

one thing to look for. i was cleaning her off tonite and noticed that the front sight post was a little wobbly. most likely from repeated shooting. (what else would it be...?) use the supplied allen wrench and check up on it before it rattles off in a place where you wont find it!

Man, I can't wait to pick mine up Sunday morning.

I'm trading into one of these with a clonepoint on it, and heading straight out to put a brick through it sunday afternoon....

holy crap. if you get a GSG pay attention to these photos. i took mine apart for cleaning and found a random loose spring that came out and for the life of me couldnt figure out where it went for about 2 hours. had to surf the internet for a bit figured out where it came from. this is a picture looking into the ejection port. this spring comes out EASILY, so keep this in mind:

Well, mine disappeared already. It doesn't affect the function of the gun when firing anyway so no need to get to worried if you do lose it.
