I just picked up my Colt LE901 from the FFL last night. I bought it on Gun Broker for a fair price. I should have researcched my purchase a little better, I thought I was going to get the conversion block, buffer and spring with the gun. There were some scrathes on the bottom side of the barrel in front of the bayonet lug, o-well, not like it won't have alot more eventually. I cleaned her up, mounted my 1.5X5 scope and headed out on the home range to zero it in. I was using factory ammo and in the first 15 rounds I had two dubble feeds, no biggy, cleared those and went about zeroing. What happened next is what has me bugged The gun begins to fail to strip the next round from the mag, BANG...Click charge it, BANG...Click. I tried both mags, no differance. So I take it up to the shop, strip it, clean and lube it again, no change. I have about ten rounds left from a box of 50. I guess I'll be calling Colt cus-ser. on Monday

Risks are associated with buying used products.

Sounds like a prior owner may have flubbed something up.

Will be interested to hear what it turns out to be.

What magazine and ammo did you use?

Did the gun come with original Colt / NHMTG mags, or did someone maybe swap them out?

Mags and underpowered ammo are the source of most malfs.

I have put a couple of hundred rounds through mine and no problems whatsoever.

Sounds under gassed, that's not a normal 7.62 AR problem. Does the bolt lock back on the last round fired?
I don't know if the bolt would finish open, I didn't shoot either mag till it was empty. I'm going to try other ammo and the Dealer I bought the gun from is sending me a couple new P- Mags (no charge, very cool)

Place a single round in the mag, load and shoot it. Does the bolt lock back on the empty mag?

I tried differant ammo today, just a couple of rounds of Remmington, the bolt finished back after each. The mag tech ammo left the bolt closed on an empty mag.

Did the gun run fine with the new ammo?

Might be that the MagTech was underpowered. Other than that it sounds like a possible bad mag.

It's raining here, so I just shot one round from each mag. The bolt finished open with each mag using remmington and stayed closed with the mag tech. It appears the mag tech is under powered, for this gun.

Does mag tech make good/reptuable ammo? I don't think I've ever had anything by them.
