New Hampshire non-resident carry permit

I seem to remember hearing that the form used to have a ton of stuff listed as options; target shooting, hunting, personal protection, etc. And if you wrote anything but "protection" or "all proper purposes," the license would get turned down, since apparently those are the only reasons for which licenses are issued. Well, now they just flat out tell you the "correct" answers. As long as you put either on the form, it shouldn't matter. They don't write the purpose on the license itself.

Permit arrived today (4/28), thirteen days after I put the application in the mail!

Of course, its printed on what looks like a plastic hotel key, and it appears some junior high kids did it. :D

I put my father-in-law, brother-in-law, and brother. NH only wanted mailing addresses, and to my kowledge none of them were contacted.

So what if my state doesn't have CCW at all? Will they issue me a permit or do I need another out of state permit?

I think they're saving some money in the CCW office in NH :) Your plastic version is a major step up from the one I got 3 years ago.

Pardon the necromancy, but...

Sportcat, I just wanted to say Thanks for posting this. I, too, just got my card with no hassles after only about a 10 day turnaround, effectively doubling the number of states I'm now legal in!

dloken

NH non residents must have a licence or permit issued by ANOTHER state. It doesn't have to be your home state. They recently changed this. :)

LOL. But who cares as long as you got it, right? :D

I got all crazy and modified one of Packing.Org's maps in Photoshop so I know where I'm legal and where to avoid.
