Exactly 1 week and 3 days ago I mailed off my application and 20 bucks for a New Hampshire non-resident pistol license and I received it today. That's fast! The reason I got it is because my wife and I are going to Colorado this summer and I want to carry there but I don't want to count on Texas getting reciprocity with them by then as there is (apparently) one person in the Texas AG's office who handles reciprocity.
New Hampshire makes it SO easy if you already have a CHL in your home state! All you have to do (for those who don't already know) is send a one-page application, a copy of your concealed handgun license or permit for the state you live in and 20 bucks and you get the license. Someone told me they are obligated by state law to either decline or issue the permit within 2 weeks.
So, for anyone who has a Texas license and wants to be legal in New Hampshire, Alabama, Colorado, Georgia or North Dakota then this might be the option for you...especially if you need it quickly! For those in other states the NH license is good for 10 other states aside from those listed above so you might want to check it out if you're home state's license is limited.
Just an option that I thought I'd throw out there. I'm sure it's been mentioned or discussed here before but it was either before my time or I missed it. Someone over at packing.org gave me the heads up when I mentioned I was going to Colorado.
