Hello all.
I've have done google searches for some time that lead to the highroad forums and decided to finally become a member.
I'm new to forums ao please bear with me.....
I have a new EAA witness small frame .40 that I've been searching for wood grips for and am coming up..at the least tentative. I have read that cz 75b grips at least will fit my small frame witness I still see a hump on the backstrap that the 75 doesn't have and am wondering if anyone here has put cz grips on their witness with success?
About the witness hump i'm thinking it's either a smaller area on the grips and cz grips will have to be cut down to fit correctly or it's added material on the witness that the cz grips will not cover.
If you have any idea what i'm talking about please educate me....
BTW the witness I got is truly a small frame (contacted EAA) and they told me my model (classic) is the 12 round small frame that used to be in production prior to the large ones.. It's a throwback. They also have a classic II which in .40 is 15 round and is NOT the small frame but exactly like the newer large frame witness that's current.
They wanted to sell me the $80 walnut grips they carry but they look to be worth about $20 with nothing special except these grips are apparently hard to come by.
I read a post where a guy put small frame witness grips onto a cz75B and they worked fine for him but since no pics were posted I couldn't see the hump area (if it even existed in older witness models)
Anyone have a clue about this?
I look forward to helping in areas I do know about on THR in the future!
