After realizing that some shotgun folks are more worried about pheasants than zombies, we put together a display gun just for the Fudds ('be vaywie kwiet' ) out there. Considering that our brake/suppressor unit tightens groups more than most chokes will it seems that we may have been neglecting an entire percentage of shooters out there. We went out and bought a new Rem870 with the laminated stock, we turned the last 2" off of the barrel to remove the choke tube area. We milled a slot in the KA-1212 the same width as the rib and did a hidden weld installation of the unit. Then we turned the collar on the brake smooth on the lathe which in turn shaved the rib smooth with the collar as well (the riib goes about 1/2" past the 'end' that you see in the pics). We drilled and tapped a new bead hole in the rib base for a HiViz. The entire gun was stripped down, parkerized, and coated with Duracoat 'gun blue' color finish. We haven't shot it yet and probably won't for awhile, its going to be a display item for gunshows. We'll put it out for demo shooting later this year.
And we found out that the 'Gun Blue' Duracoat looks "Smurf Blue" under flourescent lights and camera flash but looks black in daylight or incandescent light [smilie=icon_lol.gif]
