Hello everyone,

I purchased one of the newer LNL shell plates in 9mm. But it's not indexing right. The two indents on the bottom on not going into the the slots. I have to manually move the shell plate over a little on every index. I put the original back on and no problems.

I have read that there were some problems with some of the newer old stock plates. Could it be a defective plate. I feel like I have dumped $28.00 away for nothing here. I bought it at Kemps. I am going to call Hornady Mon, but thought maybe someone might have a answer to my problem before I do.

I like the press. It works great on .45's, but the old plate on 9mm's is the pits.
thanks,

Your pawls are out of adjustment.
If you look at the legs that advance the shell plate at the bottom of the ram you will see an allen head screw. You can adjust those legs (correctly called pawls) to change the throw of the shell plate.
Also make sure you lube the shell plate where it meets the sub plate.

Pawl adjustment

So what you are saying that you can't mix old and new plates because of the pawl adjustment? Because like I mentioned the old plate lines up perfectly. Also before installing I sprayed the plate with a light coat of lithium grease as well as the sub plate.
