Hey all,
New guy here. Guy from Craig's List with 'sporting items' fs/ft told me about this forum - thanks Robert! Spent a few hrs last nite checking it out - lotsa good stuff, so I figured I'd sign up and see what happens.
I'm just south of St Louis out here in Deliverance Country (some of my neighbors were in the movie, and they weren't acting!)
Self employed machinist, for now anyway.... Just getting out of USMC boot camp 30 :cuss: years ago this week!
Got out of shooting, and most hunting when I opened my shop 8 yrs ago, lack of time and funds:banghead:, just starting to get back into things. Shot a few high Power Rifle matchs, was looking at Bullseye matchs, love to squirrel hunt with 1 of my 22's, deer hunt, fish, float, and generally run around the woods, at least back when I had a real job:D Gonna have to work on that this year! Need to get my reloading bench back in operation ASAP!
My 1st love is 1911 style 45's -what can I say, it's a fetish thing! Ruger Blackhawks, (I've got a great .41 mag), GP100, assorted 22 pistols and rifles (another fetish:eek:) as long as they're 'different'. Not really into bolt guns, more pumps and lever actions. Currently looking for a 2-1/4" SP101 in .357.
I've got an outstanding Winchester Model 88 .308 that was my father's -seems to knock down any deer it's pointed at - it's magic.:D
VERY strongly believe that the 2nd Amendment is the ONLY thing that guarantees the 1st, as well as the rest of the constitution(RIP Mr. Heston!) NRA Life Member,
terrible typist.
And that pretty well covers it. I can see that I'll probably spend waaay too much time on here already!:uhoh:

I have been on here for a while just do not post very often. I have been hunting since I was a kid always enjoyed hunting and still do. I was in the Navy on board submarines. I worked in the engine room with the Nuclear reactor (mostly with the secondary loop). There we had to qualify with pistol, Rifle and shotgun for reaction forces. That and a friend got me into handguns, because we shot the 1911 I have always loved the 1911. We also shot the M-14 which is a very fine rifle. I have been interested in and owned several firearms over that time I own shotguns for bird hunting and just recently started getting more interested in shooting handguns again. I owned a few while in Navy but when I moved back onto base I sold them. I am now out of the Navy and live in Kansas City, Missouri area.

New guy from the Heart of Dixie

Howdy all, just found this forum while googling for a handgun course in the great state of Alabama, ROLL TIDE.

I have been around guns since before I was in school. My first gun that I had was a 12 gauge New England Firearms single shot. I love the outdoors and live in a rural part of Alabama. Although a lot of the corn and potato fields are now subdivisions or chicken houses, this place still has the country feel.

I am an avid bass angler and fish a lot of tournaments. I used to hunt religiously before I aquired the job I have now. I haven't deer hunted in 3 years and I miss being in the woods. As a kid my step dad took me hunting running rabbits with beagles. I believe that was the best experience of my life at the time.

I am a single father raising three little girls by myself, I divorced my ex a year and a half ago. I knew it would be a fight to the death over the kids so I had to sell three of my long guns. One of which I considered a third arm; my Ruger M77 MII in .300 Win Mag, Boat paddle stock stainless barrell. A Marlin 17V blued barrel and a Remington 870 Express Magnum. I loved those guns but I love my kids more.

I'm trying to find another Ruger but for now with a non child support paying ex wife, im having to save up. I recently purchased a S&W Model 4043 in .40S&W and its starting to grow on me. I wanted something for home defense so that about it in a nutshell.

Greetings all.

New to the site, and have found the info and discussions to be superb!

I'm working on a pistol permit, but grew up on long guns.

Currently have:

circa 1950's "corn-cob" pump action Winchester .22
circa 1960's Remington bolt-action .22 (with tube feeder and original scope) .
Ruger 10/22
Winchester L50 12ga autoloader
Ruger Mini-14 .223 Stainless/Composite
Gamo .177 breakbarrel springer ( for plinking with the kids in the backyard)

Wish list:

1.) 18" 12ga pump action shotty (Rem/Moss/etc.)
2.) Sig P232 ss for CC (see pistol permit status above)
3.) M1 Garand or Rem 700 (because you just gotta have ~120gr at ~3000fps!)
...and most importantly...
4.) to be able to educate all my children about the privileges, responsibilities and enjoyment that can come from owning firearms...so that they too will grow up, respecting firearms, and carry with them fond memories of "hanging out and shooting guns with dad".

Greetings HighRoaders!!!

Howdy!!

I'm a member of the most HATED minority in the United States today....I'm a white male conservative!! Other than that awful and evil status (smirk) I'm actually a decent sort.

I defend my turf w/ my Sig Sauer P220 .45ACP and my two cousins... Smith and his brother, Wesson... I just callem' ".357 Mod 66" for short! ;)

..I'm pretty jazzed about this site. I found it by accident while googling for pics! I'm a member of one site that doesn't ALLOW any mention of firearms whatsoever... and CERTAINLY nothing military... unfortunately, I have some non-weapon oriented friends and that is where some of them post.

I'm a tolerant person... If my friends want to kiss up to the rags (Obama for example) rather than hate them for it, I try to change their perspective by posting the TRUTH to conteract lefty spin... of course, the lefty webmasters don't like that and I have a whole set of "special rules" there that I must follow or be banned, while others are not constrained by the same rules if they are riding the lefty Kool-aid train.

I'm going to try to figure out how to post a pic and if I do... you will see my Sig that I LOVE TO DEATH... I've NEVER fired a semi-automatic weapon that just absolutely REFUSED to jamb or malfunction in ANY MANNER until I owned my Sig!! It simply doesn't care if I mix and match loads in the same clip; I tested it a few times w/ at least 4 diff loads in the same clip and it ate them like a fat kid eats candy!! :D ... I love my "Sweetlips"... she's a real honey!! :)

New Member saying HI

Just joined the site, I have searched a ton of topics and found lots of good info. I look forward to getting to know everyone here better.

And a warm welcome from Minnesota as well.

I have a healthy respect for the Sig 220 , and the one owned by a family member has been flawless.

My primary gun buying days were from the mid 60's through the early 80's. WOW- how things have changed . Not all things however, as I am in the process of finishing a re-build on a pinned and recessed S&W Model 66.

Thanks everyone.. I'm happy to have found this site, for sure!!

Mnrivrat... I have a particular love for the S&W M65 wheelgun!! :) About the only diff is a ramp and groove sighting system for easy, snag-proof draw from concealment!

Here's mine; the only thing I've done to it is honing the trigger mech for a MUCH smoother DA pull and trimmed about a half-coil on the spring, reducing pull effort!

.. I'm toying with the idea of bobbing the hammer, because DA pull is now so smooth I'm just as accurate as a cocked-shot!! .. it's an EXCELLENT and DEADLY carry piece!!

..I'm also including a pic of some homemade Glasser Safety Slugs that I used in it when I still had other ppl in the house... now I roll w/ the Winchester Silver Tip hollowpoints, .125 gr!!

..pop smoke, gunny... I'm over the wall!!
