Hi, my name is Gary and I'm an old retired (from the Army anyway) Helicopter pilot. I now work at a nuclear power plant as an electronics technician (Instrumentation and controls tech). I grew up with guns around, and have always enjoyed shooting and hunting. I like all kinds of firearms, and my wife says that I want to own one of each. She's always right, you know. I have been reloading since 1962 and casting since 1964. Maybe, with your help, I'll learn what I'm doing soon. I live out in the sticks in southeastern (Tidewater) Virginia. I really like having the ability to go out on my own land and shoot whenever I like. I also am blessed with an abundance of game, and grandkids to teach to hunt said game. I look forward to getting to know you all, and maybe we can share some knowledge and fellowship.

An old new member - greetings

Born in '47 in Indy. starting shooting in '52 with a Winchester 1889 22 bolt and never stopped. Graduated to and M79 and a 45 for a couple years. Then to a Ithaca M37 unltralite and a JC Higgins MOD 66. I only shoot paper these days. My interests are om BPCS at distance.I am most interested in helping young people start in shooting as a hobby.

Hello

I'm a new member and stumbled across this forum while doing some research on the Remington Model 700 trigger issues.

I'm a former small town police officer, and enjoy hunting and shooting sports. I was raised on wild game so you could say hunting is a way of life for me.

I have many guns, mostly older ones passed on from my Grandfather, who is deceased, and some I've since purchased.

My gun safe currently holds a Remington 700 .270, a Remington 870E, a Remington 10C .22, a H&R .45 black powder rifle, a SKS, a Winchester Model 250 .22, and a Glock 23. The rest of my collection is at my father's house out in the country.

This looks like a place where I could spend a lot of time. :):uhoh:

Hello
was sent to this sight by a good friend of mine. This is a very neet place, hopefully i can learn alot. I'm mostly into big bores and old relics that still perform. Ex navy vet and hunting nut.

Hello all! My name is Tim. Gun enthusiast my whole life. Grew up in rural Montana on 5K acres of the best hunting ground anywhere. I have a passion for varminting from my many years shooting gophers and prairie dogs. I gravitate toward mostly small bore stuff and really have a passion for Ruger MK II and MK III handguns, Winchester 9422 rifles, Remington 580 series, and just purchased my first Savage, a model 25 lightweight varmint in .223. If you have a question about the Ruger MK series I probably know the answer, if you would like to hunt varmints in Montana drop me an email. I will take responsible hunters out in groups of 2-4 for days filled with more shooting than you may encounter in any other environment, shooting P-dogs, coyotes, gophers and the occasional badger or fox. I have access to nearly 60K acres and guarantee the time of your life. Just bring LOTS of ammo!!

Hi everyone, my name is Kristen, and currently am on this website to narrow down my decision on a CCW. I've lurked here quite awhile, and I already have my decision narrowed down to two autoloaders.

I don't hunt, so I only shoot for fun, or carry one for personal protection, as part of my business takes me into some pretty bad areas.

Hello THRer's!

This is a great forum. I keep finding answers to my questions here, so I figured I should register and pay it forward. My Dad cut me loose in the desert where we lived (near Phoenix, AZ) with his (now mine) trusty - and accurate Sheridan .22 pump pellet gun when I was 5, been shootin' stuff ever since. My favorite sidearm is a Colt 1911 LWC. Shotgun: Remington 870 in "riot" configuration. Rifles/carbines: I'm a total milsurp nut - Mauser M'91 (Argentina), '95 (Chile), '96 (Sweden), '98 (Yugoslavian), so far - I think a Swiss K31 is going to be my next milsurp. Just bought a new Marlin model 60 yesterday, that's how I ended up here, again, looking for other rimfire shooters opinions on ammo. Think I'll look around THR and find the proper place to ask a question about scope mounts for the new .22, see ya.

welcome John!

John is a great instructor who is both knowledgeable in the subject matter AND good at communicating that to students. check out his school http://www.tracearmory.com/index.html I took one of his classes last weekend and definitely recommend it. (will post an AAR in rifle country later this week)

Hello. I'm Kelly go by K-Rod here. I was a "Lurker" for a while decided to join. This is a very informitive site but some seem pretty "Hardcore". My interests go across the board. Hunting, plinking, reloading, long range etc. I own various weapons from .17's on up. I'm not hung up on "one" type. I've decided to build a long range rig this winter for out to 2000yrds. Been considering the 700 in 300RUM or maybe a .338? I live in N. Idaho so it's pretty easy finding places to make these shots. Any advice on this would be helpful. I've seen a couple guys here with some pretty impressive long rangers. Doing the AR thing. Thinking about getting into the 1911's as well. Guess my forum handle shouldve been "Gun Slut" lol!!

My name is Brad and I am retired USAF. I also am disabled due to lung cancer. I have decided to get back into shooting which is helping me deal with my illness. I have joined a traditional muzzle loading club and own a sweet .50 thompson hawkin rifle. I also have two ruger single six revolvers which are sweet also a sig sauer mosquito. The .22's allow me to go to the range and enjoy hours of range time on a budget. I am in the process of owning a military and police 38. I love guns and i love learning about them.

new to the forum from connecticut

hello everyone from the super gun-friendly state of Connecticut! for the past few days, every time i google a question about a gun or shooting, one of the top results is a THR thread, so i guess i have been lurking for a few days, so i figured ide join up and keep learning. im one of those guys who has all those guns in his closet but doesn't quite know enough about accuracy and shooting to classify as a rifleman, so im hoping to change that by learning from what i read here. looking forward to chatting with and learning from you all.

New member, long time gun enthusiast/shooter. I have always been more of a long-range, precision shot kind of guy and just recently got into handguns/CCW (purchased a new Glock 19). I'm looking to start my first AR-15 build shortly and am excited to take advantage of all that THR has to offer.

Hello to everybody. Long time lurker. I have gained a lot from reading, and sometimes have questions, so I signed on. For the most part, there is a gold mine of information here, and some real good people passing on the information. I truly appreciate those who make this the "High Road".

Hi, I've been following gun forums and blogs for awhile now. I have a few guns but I'm still a 'newbie'. I like Heckler & Koch (before they went all PC), Ruger (post Bill Ruger), Glock, and anything that scares hippies.

Hi, new guy here. I just bought a CZ97B about a month and a half ago. I just finished building my own AR-15 and I have a M1 Garand from CMP. I'm in the Navy for about two more months. I enjoy shooting. I'm looking into getting into IDPA at a local range.

Hello all. I'm new here and a real novice at all things involving guns and shooting. As a kid I shot .22 rifles a few times hunting squirrels with my East Texas cousins, but that's about it. Beyond that I've never really had a lot to do with shooting. But, I've always had a nagging desire to learn to shoot a pistol, just to see what it was like. It was sort of a bucket list thing.

I lurked on the list for awhile, but finally had to make a comment, so here I am as a new member. Thanks for having me.
