Hello everyone. I've been a long time reader, first time poster. When I'm not at school, I'm from good old Pennsylvania near the Poconos.

New guy from Wisconsin

hey all,

Origonally from St. Louis MO, transplant to WI for wifes job, and it's not so bad here afterall! I was mainly a handgun guy, got into it for the practicality of HD, then my shooting partner got me interested in longarms (bastard! more $$ to burn!) have a bolt, and an AR. We decided to go to an Appleseed shoot...AMAZING!! came out lots smarter about long range shooting, and smaller groups to boot!! I also left with a burning desire for an M1A ... trolled a bit, and decided to take my coat off and stay awhile! Thanks for the resources and experience!

Hello all.
I'm new to this forum and wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself.

I'm a handgun enthusiast mainly, but I do enjoy long guns and crew-served weapons as well. I own a Ruger SR9, Diamondback .380 and a Marlin 22 rifle. I'm also into most anything having to do with survival, hiking, camping the outdoors, etc.

I'm ex-Navy. Enjoy photography and I'm also sort of a conspiracy nut. Not the real diehard kind... I don't protest in the streets about chemtrails or the New World Order, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I am somewhat intrigued by things like the Bilderberg Group, the possibility of 9/11 being an inside job and the such. I enjoy listening to Alex Jones and watching shows such as "Conspiracy Theory" with Jesse Ventura, but I try not to get too caught up in the whole "EOTWAWKI" thing. I do however try to stay prepared for anything and I find survivalism/preparedness and the whole culture a lot of fun.

Anyway, that's about it on me. If anybody wants to know anything else, feel free to ask.

Hello All

Hello to all the members of the forum. I would like to tahnk you for allowing me into the forum, and wanted to give a quick introduction.

My name is BOb and I live in Central Kentucky, a proud gun owner, I currently own a Taurus TCP380 that I carry for personal protection, and I just picked up an Arcus 9mm single action today for the low price of $150.00.

I was wondering if anyone could tell where in the forum I could find results on the firing of this gun. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

great forum everyone. i'm from metro-atlanta and after reading a lot of threads, i realize i'm pretty lucky to live in georgia compared to the anti-gun states. i've never been interested in politics or law until i began carrying everyday. i'm happy to be among all of you who are responsible gun owners and americans.

i didn't grow up guns, except BB guns. i loved the marksmanship involved in shooting. i primarily target shoot with handguns and carry concealed now. keep up the good work here!

Hello all and thanks for the professional discussions. I have garnered a lot of good info since joining up. I am a pistol and shotgun guy and do a lot of steel target shooting out in West Texas.

Newbie to the board

I enjoy collecting and shooting and being the steward of Military Rifles. History you can hold in your hand. I learned firearm safety and the responsibility that came with them from my father who served proudly as a U.S. Marine in the South Pacific during WWll. This is a great forum as I can see {THR} to further shore up my interest. Thanks to all in advance.

Been collecting firearms as a hobby for a "few" years. Recently came across a Winchester Model 06 slide-action at an auction in what could best be described as "incredible" condition. Smiling ear to ear as I think about her in my gun safe.
I'll contribute what knowledge I've accumulated over the years and will, no doubt, have my share of questions for y'all. Thanks for having me at THR

Welcome and good luck. I just refinished the stock on an inherited M1 Garand and I must say it looks pretty good. It was originally purchased by my father in law WAY back when and had a stain bath and drip dry finish. Enjoyed the heck out of taking apart and putting back together the M1 again after nearly 43 years (I learned how to do it in military school).

Greetings to everyone here
im very very happy and proud to be a member here
im from NY state so i'll apologize now to you all for that :)~

Salutations

Good day, all.

My name is Ryan. (Hi, Ryan.) My brother-in-law recently decided after watching Cocaine Cowboys that growing up Florida as I did could explain my fixation with security, preparedness, and air conditioning. These topics came up as we were reviewing murphy (fold up) bed options for our limited studio spaces.

I commented that I could mount the frame against the window so when not in use for sleeping (folded up) the window would be well fortified by a thick mattress. Of course, when in use (down) I'd have a nice breeze. It seemed to me the best of both worlds.

I am a fond collector of functional modern firearms, my personal belief being that it is better to invest in brass and lead rather than the scarcer elements. Someday, I'd like to go hunting with my Alaskan in-laws, but I'm not sure I really want to kill anything unless it's trying to kill me. Wait, this is already getting too long. Anyway, hi.

Hi, I'm Andy
I used to reload while I was stationed in Idaho, good hunting and lots of places to shoot, but since then have been too busy but now it seems a good time to take it up again. I will be loading 45 ACP, 44 Mag for a carbine which I am still having issues with, 32ACP, my neighbors 40 cal, then 30-06 and maybe someday 7.62x39. Am building a reloading bench and work area. The neighbor and I built a range out in the woods, life is good.

Welcome to THR and enjoy your stay. Does your disability keep you from moving and shooting? If not, may I recommend IDPA?

Hello everyone!

Passed through a few times and was impressed by the quality of the content on this site.

My new favorite firearms are 1911's. A co-worker of mine found out I'm into guns and told me I'd love 1911's...I was skeptical since I'd only ever owned polymers. I bought my first one a few months ago and all of a sudden, I had four. Sold my first one last weekend to try and recoup some of my $$ but now I want another...I'm hopeless.

Other guns are AR's, AK's and shottys.

My wife thinks I'm insane 'cuz of the number of guns I own so I figured I'd commit myself to the loony bin. :neener:

I am home.

Hello to all...

-Hey, u guys can call me Senior & i just registered. I found this site by googling for info on my 20ga Stevens 311H by Savage Arms that was a gift 4 me by my step dad.

-Sadly he recently passed away due 2 cancer & in his honor i'd like 2 get to kno my gun alot more then i do now. He was an advid hunter, collector, & competitor. Having won some great contests where he scored a 100 out of 100 consecutive clay disks in trap shooting.

-Id like 2 take a crack at it & see how good i can do but not before i kno my shotgun inside & out. So far ive established thats its made after 1968 since it has a cereal # on it, & that they stop making them in 1989. Printed on the left barrel is word for word: "Stevens model 311 series H 20ga 2 3/4" & 3" shells Savage Arms Westfield, MASS USA".

-First thing i wanna learn, (besides safety), is how 2 mantain & clean it. I want 2 be able 2 take it apart & put it back together. I want 2 kno its habbits & the do's & dont's of this gun, & ofcourse im looking 2 obsorb as much info & tech tips as possible, especially those that are specific to my 311H!!! Ive been told using 3" shells isnt in the guns best interests, (less wear & tear i guess), even tho its stamped on the barrel. Ive also been told it doesnt like slugs cauz it tends to pull the barrels apart. Im not sure if those statements hold any water, BUT thats why im here now!!!!

Thanks for reading my intro & i hope 2 learn alot from this!!
Thanks,
Senior

Introductions made

Hello everyone my name is Lee and after 17 years I am still so excited to be involved with the firearms industry. I am on the very cusp of owning my very own full service gunsmith shop. After 17 years of planning, working, and other folks getting the credit, I will finally be able to put my name to the work I love to do. (and yes pay the insurance and all the other bill that come due). Metal work and stock work will be my focus. The two sections of my shop are set up for the two completely different disciplines. More to come...
I hope to meet a lot of new and interesting folks in here. I will certainly give my opinion when asked and since I don't know everything yet I will be asking for yours.

Thanks for the read

Hey from Florida!

Hey guys! LeadHead here. I live in Pinellas Co. Florida and I work as a civil engineer. I've always loved firearms - I've amassed a pretty nice collection. I joined THR after lurking for a couple of months and I intend to expand my knowledge of firearms as well as attempt to sell or trade some of the firearms that I own.

Looking forward to talking with everyone!

Hello from the Panhandle of Texas! I am a retired petroleum geologist and petroleum engineer. Most of my life I have enjoyed shot guns. In my younger days I was an avid bird hunter (quail, dove and pheasant). Still have the shot guns, but am now to old to hunt. Got into hand guns a couple of years ago. I credit most of what I have learned to thr forum. I am still amazed at the wisdom, experience and know-how of this forum. I figure I have at least a undergraduate degree from what I have learned here. Started reloading about the same time I got into handguns.

Another Noobie here. I'm from Texas as well. Networking Nerd that works on a large Cisco network and loves shooting guns.

Right now I have

Glock 19

Glock 26

Daniel Defense DDM4 V1 w/ Eotech, AFG and BCM charging handle.
