From PHX

Hello All,

I have been a aficionado of fine firearms my whole life. As of current my collection consists of three Rugers: a 10/22, speed six, and .41 Blackhawk New Model.

I also have many others including several 1911's, S&W's, a maadi AK47, ASA ar-15, etc etc etc. Oh and my daily G26.

I also am a car nut, and am out racing either the drags here in phx or road race events.

Just joined, but been lurking for a time. Former officer in the Army and homicide detective, SWAT, etc. Retired from that stuff now ...

Needless to say, I enjoy guns. Always learning something new ... but old ironsides remains my favorite.

Thanks for putting up with me. :p

Hello, My name is Franklin, age 63, from Tallahassee Fla. I am retired military. (4 years active duty U.S. Navy, 8 years Navy Reserve and 8 years Florida National Guard; retired in 1993)

I have held a concealed carry permit for 19 years and really never felt a need to carry a weapon until the last couple of years. My pistols consist of a Walther PPK/S 7+1 .380, a Beretta 92FS 15 + 1 9mm, a CZ 75D Compact 14+1 9mm, and a Colt Commander 7+1 .45. I also have a S & W Model 27 .357 with a 6" barrel. The Colt and the CZ were just purchased in the last month, the .357 in 1981, and the Walther and Beretta in 1992. The 3 oldest looked as if they were bought yesterday.

I do not shoot that often but I took all of my semi-autos out to the range today with my Wife and Grandson and we had a great time. It was fun teaching my Grandson the 'protocol' of the firing line ( only point the weapon down range, don't put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to fire, back off of the line when people are checking their targets and ALWAYS make sure your weapon is clear unless you are loading it and you intend to shoot and do not take anyone's word that your weapon is clear, even your Grandfather. Check for yourself.

I am going to begin shooting again and hope to involve myself in this forum on a regular basis.

Love to shoot and hope to try some IDPA stuff this summer. Recently retired Firefighter/Medic so spend as much time afield as I can. Looking forward to learning all I can from this site.

Hello from North Georgia

I'm new to this forum and figured I would post something here. I often stay busy so I might not get back to a thread for a day or so.(my ADHD doesnt help much) I don't have the means for alot of toys but have a few. I like shooting and expanding my knowledge on guns and whatever else i get into.

My toys include:
1. Romainian AK-47 underfolder w/ a Tapco G2 double hook trigger upgrade and a Hogue grip. 4 30rnd mags.
2. Bushmaster AR-15 M4 bone stock. A lot of 30rnd mags.
3. Charles Daly 1911 w/ trigger upgrade, firing pin upgrade, hammer upgrade, ambidextrius thumb safe switch, and a high ride beavertail grip safety. 3 8rnd mags
4. Mosin Nagant 91/30 w/ all of the crap that comes with it, 12ft bayo included....
5. Glock 22 (duty weapon) 3 15rnd mags
6. Rossi snub nose .38
7. Taurus .38 (cheap and beat to hell but effective)
8. Stevens 520 shortened to look like a trench gun (still legal)
9. Ruger 10-22 w/ an ATI Dragunov Stock and a Simmons scope. 2 10rnd and 1 25rnd mag.
I have several rounds for all of my guns.
I think I named them all...
Other than guns I have various knives and tac gear. My SHTF bags/gear is a different story all together. Ill list all of it sometime or another.(itll take me a bit to break it down and list it all on here)
The awesome thing about it all is my wonderful wife somewhat supports it all. she actually argues with me about whos guns are whos..... Although all of them are technically mine.
Anyhow I guess thats about it for myself.

Hi all,

Just joined yesterday(i think?), been lurking for a while. Great forum here, tons of info!
I'm currently active duty USAF, stationed @ Dyess AFB (Abilene, TX). Originally from TX, so i am very glad to be back. Spent a lot of time in Japan, no guns there!

I currently have a Rem870 express 12ga, and just got a 552 speedmaster ($160 pawn shop find!). Love them both. Looking to get a LCP for my wife, a Rem572 for me, and maybe a 1911 also.

Outside of guns, i love Photography, Camping/The outdoors, and my dogs.

Hey everyone, I've been shooting/hunting since I can't even remember and have gotten a lot of great information from this site. I'm currently a stay-at-home dad finishing my undergraduate degree that I started years ago. Took some time to see what Uncle Sam had to offer and got to see some interesting parts of the world. Now I live in VA with my family.

That's the short version. I'm glad to be here.

Hey I am new member,
I am a compition shooter and love to fish, hunt and horseback ride. I have 2 old guns and a Martin Archery Warthog Mag. bow. I think i'll like this place alot.

Greetings from Cedar Co. Iowa

I haven't the slightest idea how I ended up here. Must have taken a wrong turn a while back... :neener:

Forgive me but I have to squeeze in a pic of my best buddy.

BTW, I can hit the broad side of a barn as long as it's within range.

Hail from Northern IL

Hi Everyone, just joined (but have visited via web links often). It seams like I always got the "best" info from the members on this site when researching anything related to 2A and guns..... so I thought I would join. Soon, I'll live in the only state in the union that doesn't trust it's citizens with carrying firearms. (I gotta move out of this crappy State.) About me, I'm a former Submariner, current business owner, and NRA instructor. I reload (both pistol and rifle) and am a founding member of www.ICarry.org (a group dedicated to restoring the right to carry for IL and WI). Glad to be here.

If we shall issue here in Iowa it's only reasonable that our next door neighbors shall issue also.

GodsSpeed to you Hawkbill!

New guy today. I love my guns, and my right to own them. I have been reading topics on this site for a long time and decided to join so I can get some answers to the those burning questions. Thanks for a great site.

Hello

Hello all. I am new to this board. I enjoy my guns and shooting them. I don't do a lot of hunting anymore because I don't know enough people with a place that I can go. I currently own a .357 Magnum S&W model 13-2 an Ithaca 12 guage Semi-auto shotgun and a .22 semi-auto rifle. I now do mostly target shooting and some clays with friends at private locations. Recently took CHL class and passed.

I am a veteran of the U. S. Navy, a one time cop and spent 9 years as a prison guard in the state of Texas. I stumbled onto this board while researching some pistols. Glad I decided to join, and hope that I will be able to help others while I learn myself.

Thanks,
Randy

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.....If they weren't using a gun to accomplish their task, they would be using something else!!!!!

hi im not a gun nut by any definition i only own three a ruger p89,bought in 1993 a mosin nagant 91/30 bought two months ago and the latest and greatest addition to my family of fire arms is an m1 garand bought two weeks ago

Hi guys. My name is Blake and I have Gun Disease. I'm a newbie as a member, but have been using THR for my own research for as long as I can recall. I use it almost daily to read posts and help with my own questions. I have a modest collection of firearms and purchase them based on my specific needs (though I've been known to buy spur of the moment on at least 20 accounts). More recently I've been selling off the majority of my collection and focusing on caliber specific guns..at least thats my latest undertaking.

Hi All,
just to say hello from Albuquerque New Mexico. Really into single actions especially rugers. Do not hunt reload all my own. Into black powder.

 whoopth. Joined up yesterday and didn't introduce meself....

I am 32 years old. Born & raised in the liberal, gun-hatin' Bay Area on the Left coast of California. My family moved here in the early 1940s when everything was orchards around us. We hunt duck, dove, pig, deer, antelope and pig. In the off seasons we find time to fish for kokanee and kings.

I'm pretty sure I was born with a Browning High Power in one hand, an A5 in the other, and a BAR on my back. If not, I was introduced to them in my infancy. I am a lifelong fan of Browning guns. Rifles, shotguns and pistols, I love them all (though my gun safe has plenty of other labels as well).

I love auto loaders, but I have come to realize that a good bolt action is to a semi-auto what a light saber is to a broadsword. I just picked up a matching pair of Browning X-Bolt White Gold Medallions, one in .270 Win, the other in 300 Winmag. I will be developing loads for them both over the next two or three decades :p Both are topped with Leupold VX-3L 6.5-20x56 from the custom shop, with CDS added. Though I will not take a shot in the field at 400 yards or more, I like to shoot out to 880 yards just for fun. Really a good way to let of some steam.... BTW, the 300 Winmag is so I can add elk to the list of game we stuff into our freezers :D

I like all of my pistols, but I love my two Smith & Wesson Performance Center machines. One is a SS 1911, the other a SS .44 mag Light Hunter. Tack drivers, both.

I really like THR, when I first started looking for answers to reload questions, about half the time I ended up here. There is a lot of knowledge in these forums! Cheers!:)

Long time lurker, been using this site for research and reference for long time now. Figured I should start posting!

I've had a healthy interest in guns since I was a kid. I was taught proper gun safety and respect for firearms by my uncle but never got much chance to enjoy firearms or shooting in my youth. I pursued the interest on my own as soon as I was old enough to purchase my first rifle, a beat-to-hell Yugoslavian SKS model 59/66.

I'm firm in the belief that it is every able-bodied man's right and responsibility to arm himself with the means necessary to defend the life and liberty of his fellow countrymen, his family and himself.

That just about covers it

Hello, name's Steve.

I'm not new to the gun scene, used to go hunting with my dad as a kid, couldn't wait till I got my first shotgun.

As far as handguns, I had a little piece o' junk .22 years ago, and traded it in at a pawn shop when I bought a Hi-Point 9 about 15 years ago. Shoulda kept the .22.

I still have that Hi Point and along with it a Davis .380, a Remington 870 Express, a Thompson Hawken and my pride and joy, a Springer 1911 Mil-Spec SS.

While I'm not new to guns, I am new to the whole cc world. I have applied and hopefully have the permit within 8 weeks. The Great State of MS does not include any type of training or classes to get the permit, so I'm educating myself. During my sweep of the net, I found THG about 2 days ago and this looked like a great place to meet folks and to educate myself.

I live in Biloxi, rode out Katrina, I collect guitars (play them too on occasion) work on guitar amps, etc. I have a 1989 fox Mustang that'll do the quarter in 12.65 seconds.

That's it for now!
