Hi Silas - welcome to the THR forum. I hope you find lots of useful information here. There are many knowledgable people who love guns and gunstuff here, who are willing to share their passion for firearms with everybody.

I've always wanted to explore the possibility of hunting in Kentucky's "Land-Between-The-Lakes" , but have never known anyone from Ky. to ask about it. Are you familiar with that part of your state? And if so, would you give me some general ideas about going there for deer and other samll game hunting please? As a total novice to the area, I have no idea where to start or if it would be something that I'd care to do after I get more knowledge about the place.

I flew over it once, many years ago, on a private flight from Nebraska back to South Florida, where I live. It looked very interesting from 1,500 feet up.

Any information you'd care to share with me would be appreciated.

Hi new member I go by deputy dog. I have some questions about S&W guns. I love them but don't know where to go to find out what year the guns I have were made by serial numbers. any body have answers? I live in Oregon I shoot rifles, pistols, shotguns. Retired law enforcement and my wife said I can get another job after retiring or I could fish, hunt, play golf, or go to the range,( the range I belong to we can shoot out to 1000 yards ) but if I stayed home she was going to kill me. So now I drive a school bus so I can buy more toys.

Good evening.

One of your MOD's (Lee Lapin -- err Fred Fuller) drug me over here when our ongoing (decade long?? or close) discussion included discussions of JY and TR...
Here to learn just like I was when I joined the X and one of their mods took me to the Karakorams...
I've PRETTY MUCH got a solid definition of my lane, and attempt to RARELY stray.

I just joined a few minutes ago.

I learned about his forum on Democratic Underground.

I live in Montana. I used to own a hunting rifle, but I didn't really enjoy hunting, so I sold it. I love guns in movies and video games, but I have little interest in owning an actual gun.

I love to debate, and I hope to have a good time engaging in some fair debates here on THR.

This is not a debat forum so I think you will be disappointed . If you come to learn about firearms, the 2nd amendment, RTKABA ,and the shooting sports in general , you came to a good place for information.

Well...

rule four says we can attack arguments, which in my opinion, is debate.

4. Spamming, trolling, flaming, and personal attacks are prohibited. You can disagree with other members, even vehemently, but it must be done in a well-mannered form. Attack the argument, not the arguer.

I am a grandfather of five boys and two girls, US Army vet, retired, and a lifetime lover of shooting and mechanical things that shoot. Older guns are a Winchester 1901 10 ga., 1930's Stevens .22 "visible loader" pump, 1950's Ithaca model 37 16 ga., and a JC Higgins "measuring tape" model 30 .22 auto. Newer guns are a Browning 12 ga. Featherlight auto, two 10/22 Ruger Carbines and my newest a Ruger Mark III Competition. My newest dream is shoot my newest toy well.

I am a collector , shooter, I like everything about the game. I own several wepons from a le901 ,to 22s several things inbetween, I am thinking about looking at some real long range toys just to see if I have the ability to shoot that far. I prabably don't but would like to try. also thinking about starting to reload, i'm thinking dillon reloaders, I would like to hear any thoughts about this.

Hello All, I am new to this site. I'm 64 yrs old and retired, so I have some time. My first love, other than my wife and family, is American made motorcycles. I ride a Harley Davidson Fatboy, and ride with HOG (Harley Owners Group) and The Ohio Patriot Guard Riders. I also have a love guns. I'm currently trying to get some information on a Colt 1871 36 caliber conversion that I recently aquired. I am looking forward to conversing with someone who knows about these.

Where is an accurate source to find out how many pellets are in different shotgun shells. Specifically, how many pellets are in a 3 inch #4 birdshot cartridge.

Hi there...I've rejoined, having lost my log-in information...I originally signed up back in 2004, when I first got common-sense knocked into me and learned the value of the Second Amendment.

I live in the Pacific Northwest. I hunt, I fish, and am a recreational shooter and CHL holder. I resent being told that as a woman, I shouldn't go fishing or hunting alone, or that I shouldn't do such and such a job alone. Firearms, to me, do not replace common sense...but they do afford me security and peace of mind, and a specific sense of freedom that one can't quite appreciate unless they are of the female persuasion.

I'm glad to be back.

Hi, I'm Rick from IL. 20-yr retired military, and an avid shooter for over five decades. My grandfather (World War I vet) first introduced me to shooting, and have been hooked since.

Howdy ya'll,

I did a decade as a jarhead, did my turn in elected office and public service and have spent most of my life fighting for our civil liberties. I thought I had retired to a nice quiet life...I was wrong, it seems the fight never ends. I'm back.

It's kinda nice to have internet forums to vent on...especially for those who must tolerate my soapbox rants in person daily!

A quick mea culpa - called out someone for incorrect spelling/syntax and in my comment I used the wrong word (aide instead of aid). That's what we get when we point, 3 fingers pointing back. Thanks to the Jorg the moderator for the gentle admonishment and will be more diligent in the future.
