Hello From Almost Heaven Country!

Hey guys and girls,

A Little Background About Me

I am a country boy born and raised around firearms all my life. I'm sorry to say this is one hobby my father did not share with me. About 2-3 months ago while doing some research, I was disturbed to find out what was going on within our government. The more I learned what was going on, the more frustration and anger I've become. So much so, that I decided now is the time for me to take action and do what I can to protect me, my family, and our property. My wife has a S&W 642 stainless, I have a Ruger LC9 and a LCR 357, and a Mossberg 500 20 gauge for HD.

I am a Democrat, but I do not consider myself to be a liberal. There are some liberal and conservative beliefs I truly believe in. I do not let one party dictate how I will vote. I keep an open mind and vote for who I believe will do the best job. My opinion is this... We did not have much choice in the last election, or what I call the less of two evils.

My wife and I have started our journey down the rabbit hole. The more we learn, the more we fear what the future holds for us and our children. We are living in the present and doing the best we can. We cannot put all of our energy and thoughts regarding the future. If we do not take action now, it will not matter what the future will bring.

I am a true believer and advocate in our Constitution, and I truly believe in our "Right to keep and bear arms." There are too many in Washington who want to destroy our Constitution. We as citizens must stand up for our rights and privileges.

Sorry for the long post, and I hope nothing I said will be taken as offensive. I am here to learn as much as I can and gain as much knowledge I possibly can.

Happy New Year to You and Your Family!!

The only thing I see offensive is your possible vote for obama. Bet you wish you had a do over now eh?

Hello everyone.

I am a member of another gun forum in Canada, and I go by the same name. I thought I would join another great forum to discuss and learn more about firearms. I am very jealous of the freedom you guys have in most states, when it comes to guns. We have very draconian gun laws in Canada. Anyway, I am sure I will enjoy your forum.

Cheers

Paul

I'm new here, I'm Army active and I love classic single actions, International Harvester trucks and the outdoors.

Just joined from North Texas

Hello everyone. A lot of good work being done here. I want to join the fight to keep my rights. Not a whole lot to tell you about myself. I'm an avid shooter and enjoy the outdoors. I'm also enraged at the course our country is going. So I did what I could for now and joined the NRA and sent emails to every State elected official I could find. I'm hoping to get involved in other organizations that protect my 2nd Amendment rights and my rights as a CHL holder as well. Hope everyone has a better year than this last one.

RancherTexas

I just entered this forum because I was looking for some High Standard pistol and revolver parts and this site came up. It looks interesting and I will look forward to some good discussions and learning some new things. I have been shooting since my first shotgun at age ten. Panhandle of Texas is a wide open space and a long long time ago, sounds like a fairy tale, boys got guns for Christmas and could walk around in the country and shoot. Even by High School we took our guns to school in someones car to do some hunting before dark.
Anyway, I had a cattle ranch but health issues caused me to sell almost all of the land and move into town. Still have 644 acres to pop caps on. Told wife (of 50 years) it was for the children and grandchildren.

Hi everyone, I've been a long time lurker here at THR and finally decided to join. This place has been an excellent place for information!

Another longtime follower of THR, decided to finally join. I am a retired Marine Corps Officer, served 21 years. Been shooting since I was six and reloading since I was 15. I really enjoy revolvers and have both single action and double action Rugers. I have a range behind our house and my wife and I enjoy shooting regularly. I also make holsters for us and for friends.

New Member

Hello,
New member here….. Fired my first gun (single shot 410 shotgun belonging to my grandfather) in 1965 (still have the gun) and bought my first gun Winchester .308 bolt action in 1969 (16 YO walked in paid for it and 5min. later walked out with a gun THE GOOD OLD DAYS!!!) at Sears for $105. Have bought several rifles and shotguns over the years. From Marlin 22 Model 50 lever action to 300 Mag. Weatherby Mark V. Started reloading in 1988 for hunting and recreational shooting 500 rounds a week with a SS Redhawk 44mag 7.5inch barrel. Put all guns away in 1992 and started hunting exclusive with a PSE bow and arrow, just now starting to get back into reloading a shooting. Plus starting a CCL class in a few months. Hoping this form will help me decide what concealed carry weapon to buy. I don’t think my Ruger Redhawk with a 7.5” barrel will conceal very well. LOL

Hi everyone, I'm a new member and reloader. Been hunting since I was about 8 years old, in the past five years i have started to build my own collection of firearms and stop borrowing my father's. When I told him I was interested in reloading about a year ago he thought it would be a great idea, you know I do all the work and he supplies his suggestions. But I can't complain too much, he got me a lock n load AP ammo plant for Christmas. I will be starting with .223 and then more than likely move onto .45, .40, and would love to get into some good hunting loads for my 270.

Anyway, I'm excited to get started and look forward to the advice I can take in on here. Where might I post to see if my location for my press is suitable?

hey i have THR for a couple day and finally decided to join after buying my first handgun a day ago.

Hi everyone. I live in FL, generally a great place to hunt, fish and be a gun owner (thank you Jeb Bush & others). New to membership here but have used the site numerous times for opinions on equipment, et al. Have been collecting guns for many years, mostly hunting and tactical.

I shoot a Thompson Encore .270 for deer and AR Performance 6.8 for hogs. The home defense weapons are HK USC w/Glock 30 as backup (adios criminales!) and I do a lot of plinking with .223 ARs and .22 pistols.

I'm about to start loading my own .270, 6.8, .223 and .45 as both a hobby and so I no longer have to suffer at the behest of limited supplies, especially right now given recent events. Also getting the kids into shooting (they're already proficient with a bow, airsoft & pellet) this year.

Looking forward to the forum.

Another FNG

Hi all,

Just joined today but have been lurking for the past six months or so. Grew up in Canada with exposure to rifles and shotguns but no handguns. Moved to Seattle in '97 for love.

After much thought and research I'm the proud owner of a new Ruger P95. Will be looking for lots of info on accessories, holsters, ammo, etc. I also like a good party or dirty joke.

Cheers,
Peter

Hello all. New guy just fell in your trap. Was doing a Google search looking for bullet proof glass rated to .50bmg which found me here. Did not get info was looking for but found the.place interesting. Have the bartender put the drinks on my tab till the card max's out. BTW. Did find the glass was looking for elsewhere. Darn proud of the stuff. Guess steel & concrete with a periscope is going to have to suffice for the time being.

New Memeber

Hello everyone I've lurked on this forums since I've been into guns (A very enjoyably, and important passion to me), and I've learned so much from the knowledgeable people here, but I just got around to registering.

Well... I don't know what else to say so that's it.:)
