New member here. This is a great forum I don't know how I missed not being a member before now.
I'm a member of many other forums so you will likely see many of my pictures or posts on other places.
So a big Hi from SW Indiana.

Greetings from Oklahoma City! 50 year old male here. The pandemic and working from home left me more time to pursue guns and shooting sports. Not necessarily in a survivalist/prepper mentality, but I can't deny that IS part of it. Thanks! L

Gun fan living in SLC. I just bought an Octane 9 silencer. Hopefully I don’t have to wait too long to take it home. I’m pretty new to guns (<3 years) but already want so many. My favorite gun is cz shadow 2. Guns I want to buy next are: beretta m9, a 1911, and a waltherppks.

Welcome, everybody! We're glad to have you on board. Mike, I'm sure you will want to head over to the handguns: revolver section for the benefit of many experienced wheelgun fans. AK, I hope you will find this crew a bit less contentious than many other places on the web. Ducky, we certainly welcome folks from all stages and situations in life. Callin will probably want to check out handguns and the NFA section. Have fun and be kind!

Hello folks.

Just wanted to give a hello, share a little bit about me. My current status is old fart, gun crank, borderline curmudgeon. Back in the early 80's, I began working (over 10 years) in a gun range that was "full service". Every job from range flunky handing out targets, and sweepin' floors, to designer of reloading equipment automation. We reloaded about 1.5 million rounds per year, so every bit of automation helped. Since I'm good with machines, I got to do the more delicate and/or precise gunsmithing. We had everything from Bridgeport to surface grinder, all the tooling one could want. No issues there. Got to work on, and shoot many an interesting piece, from broomhandle Mauser to .450 Nitro (or maybe even a .500, my shoulder doesn't remember....), and all of the common stuff of the day.

Lets see, NRA endowment or patron or butt-licker Life Member, whatever the highest "extra" level is. NRA Rifle and Pistol Instructor.

Day job for the last 37 years has to do with industrial automation, leaning on both the electronics and mechanical side of things. RF technologies play a big part of what I do. Got a decent understanding of the injection molding industry. Well into my 7th decade, I'm very close to retirement.

And, I've just started to reload again. Just something to do, and as we all know, cheaper when you're shooting things like .44 Special and .45 Colt.

Living the dream, riding the dream, deeply embedded in Florida swampland. And that's me!

Hello folks. I am glad I found this community, my buddy at work told me about it. I have been perusing the forums a little tonight and enjoy reading the content. As far as shooting, it's been sporadic over the years, cartridge arms but few at that. My M-16 in the Army and the associated attatchables, and I've had several guns since I came home from the Army back in 1991, a 30-30 Mod 94, an M1-Garand, various shotguns, back in the day I sold or gave them away for reasons, my M1 was pawned in the early 90's to pay rent for my newlywed and me apartment, lost it (the gun that is) starting to sound like a country song right? Still married to the same woman and we have three kids, two dogs a rabbit and a cat, a good home and a good job, life is ok.

But here I am now with a new love and motivation for black powder, just a month or so ago I purchased a used Great Plains Lyman .50 Flintlock, and absolutely love it, my son and I go out shooting often now, and we are enjoying our time together, he is 15. At the beginning of the year we purchased a Henry Golden Boy .22 Mag that is an absolute hoot to shoot. That is turning out to be my boys gun. And I now have on order a .44 1851 brass by Pietta, and the ammo coming in the mail soon. I have taken the dive, and at this point I see no bottom to the pool! This is just too danged fun, and this time I'm holding on to my guns! I really like the black powder community, I know there all kinds of folks on these forums, not just black powder, but nevertheless, a great community it seems.

Like I said, I am new to the BP stuff, so I'll be reading a lot here, and learning, and someday I hope to be able to mentor the next fellow who shows up here, but for now I have to stay with sparking the fire in my son for BP, so far he loves it, when I showed him a picture of that .44 Navy Colt coming to our home, he said, "Man dad, now that's cool" with big smile.
Thanks for having me aboard.

I'm "new" here... as a THR forum member... :)

My thanks are owed to my good friend @scott511 for "prompting" me to sign up yesterday...!!! ;)

Thought I already had a "user account" here... but, it didn't show up. Irregardless, I'm here now... :D

I like most all M1911's... and Beretta's semi-auto pistols... Glock's semi-auto pistols... Springfield-Armory's XD semi-auto pistols... Ruger's semi-auto pistols... and S&W's DA revolvers... and Colt's DA revolvers... Ruger's DA revolvers... and most all shotguns and rifles too... that's just to get started and not an exclusive listing either...

Gracias... merci beaucoup... grazie mille too... and danke schoen... for letting me in...!!!

Welcome back! Admins will help you to reconcile old and new accounts. Meanwhile, head on over to the handgun sections and check things out.
Thanks very much, rust collector, for the kind words...!!! :)

BTW, I should also add in an earnest and "newly found" appreciation for S&W's semi-auto pistols... and I might be remiss if I neglect to also add in the same in regards to some semi-auto pistols as made by Taurus... and those very nice semi-auto pistols as CZ builds...!!!

To be forthright about all this, I've rarely met a firearm that I didn't find some manner and degree of favor with... :D

Ergo for cameras and optics... along with Ford pickup trucks and Mustangs also...!!!

At the end of the day, the laughter and voice of a small child is a truly precious gift in life... along with the steadfast but yet fleeting companionship of a good dog being another joy to appreciate... and the affection and company of a faithful feline friend (a good cat) in your lap during restful moments of gentle repose...!!! These... you cannot have too much of in life...!!!

Hello, my name is Paul Chamberlin. I am just an old gunner with a new hat. I've owned at least a couple of thousand guns in my 60 years of life. My father let me hunt by myself when I was 10, bought me my first gun at the age of 12, and from then on I was hooked.
This looked like an interesting place to park my hat and learn from men who know more than me. I have 5 grandsons that I would love to pass along the same freedoms and the same love of shooting and hunting ..........so here's to the golden years.

Hello! I am an olde retired guy who now lives in the low country area of South Carolina. It's a bit hot and humid, but I like it.
I can walk 100 yards behind my house and be in a National Forest. I can shoot my pistols there with no problems from.....people.
I have a now-ancient 1911, and a few polymer pistols, and a Ruger GP100. When you get old, chasing brass is not much fun, so revolvers are making a comeback with me.

With a handle like Scrod, I would expect a New England base of operations. Glad you could join us, no matter where you hail from. Mike, I share your distaste for gleaning empties. We are happy to add both of your experience to the mix, and hope you will enjoy your time here.

Hello all. I hope I’m doing this correctly. I have been lurking on the board for quite awhile. Have gotten some help in the handloading forum. I shoot trap mostly but also shoot skeet, five stand and sporting clays. Also shoot my hunting rifles and SA pistols and revolvers. I load for the metalllic cartridges but not shotguns. I am fortunate to belong to a private gun club in the north Texas area to have a place to do all of this. This looks to be a very informative place. Once again hello to all.

Welcome! We can always use more scattergunners. Glad you decided to come in out of the shadows and pitch in with the rest of us. All we have to offer is a respectful place to exchange information and an opinion or two if we don't get too preachy
