Hello, My name is Dayn, and I am a Gun owner ...

Heya all, seriously :neener: I have been away from the CCW scene for a while since I was living in Montana (don't really need one since the laws are more sensible), but got back on the horse again now that I am back in a bigger city. I spent 5 yrs in the Air Force, and moved back home recently to help my Dad recover from a bicycle accident.

I have been into firearms mostly from the self defense stand point for about 10yrs, have a few years of hunting in Montana now, love it all! I am happy to see there are quite a few more cz52 nutz out there like me:D! I'll probably never find that double stack 7.62x25 I want, but in the mean time, I'm tricking out my '52 ;).

I really appreciate the spirited debate here on THR, a few feathers get ruffled, but no one really loses there temper from what I have seen so far:cool: .

Look forward to finding more about firearms and the people who use them to help keep us all safe!(that includes the unsung CCW's) That being said, I want to take a moment to thank all who have and are serving in the military/police and give you my full support.

Hi from Springfield, IL last home of Lincoln

Not much to say except I LOVE shooting. Also being retired Army I can say I've shot .22 shorts to 105 mm APDS from a M68 rifled gun (for you tankers). I'm getting older and more sedate, so I'm turning to cowboy guns and the like. Getting back to my roots so to speak.

Hello (and pics of my guns)

Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here. I'm a professional firefighter who enjoys collecting and shooting guns on my days off.

I used to teach rifle and shotgun shooting and run the line at a VERY large Boy Scout camp as well a few summers ago.

I hope to be able to learn some things and share what I know with others. Take care.

Welcome to THR. You have some nice looking pieces there. Keep at it and I hope you enjoy it here.

PS: How does the Savage 111 shoot? I've been thinking about getting one.

Guitargod, thank you.

That Savage is the best value ever. I got it for $300.00 brand new, scoped combo. I can do 2" at 100 yards with the M2 Greek, a little less with new Federal. The scope is a crappy Simmons and I'm new to .30-06 so I'm pretty happy with that.

I'm going to 2 gunshows in the next week and today is payday, so check back for more soon!

Nice to see you here. Don't worry about the jealousy here. It runs rampant, but it only makes me know I'm in good company. There are good people here that cherish guns as much as I do. Nice fun collection. I have to agree on Savages. It was my first deer rifle when I was a little one. Some are not very aesthetically pleasing, but they shoot really well.

Welcome, and happy Groundhog's Day! Too bad for the groundhog though after seeing your collection!

All the best,
Glenn B

Thought I'd finally register and introduce myself briefly; I'm in the western edge of Central Indiana, about an hour west of Indianapolis, almost in the "sticks". I've visitied THR to read lots of times (lot of time spent in motel rooms, unfortunately), but I read on a lot of sites and blogs and seldom register to them. I own a firearm or two, have thought about gaining a FFL and dealing in firearms here at home (something for retirement and to get away from the road) and have considered learning gunsmithing as an avocation as well, to supplement the FFL, if I do that. Gotta love Indiana mostly; gets solid D- and F's from the gun-haters for it's pro-2A laws and attitudes, its decent hunting, and a generally gun-friendly attitude amongst its citizens.

I like the straight-forwardness of this site, the ongoing organization and work to keep it on "the high road", and most of the regular posters read like folks I'd enjoy sharing a fire with anywhere. And the few that I wonder about is probably because the internet is a horrible place to get to know someone's quirks as just quirks.

As for guns, I like shooters. I'll enjoy looking at some guy's wall-hanger or super one-of-a-kind "I can't shoot it, it's so rare" gun, but if it were mine, I'd sell it to buy something I could take out back and punch holes or hunt with. Pretty but unsafe antiques are about the only exception to that rule for me, but I doubt I'd ever buy one, just 'cause I couldn't shoot it! It would have to be given to me.

I'm not usually a big poster, so don't look for me on every thread. If and when I chime in, it's something that I'm really interested in, or have fair knowledge of, or want to help. That's me, in a nutshell.

I just found this site and it looked very interesting. I opted to join because you can never learn to much about firearms!!:D

Howdy

Hiya folks. Been lurking around on this board but never posted so I figured I'd introduce myself.

Originally from Lafayette, LA, now in Ft. Collins, CO. Been shooting since I was a kid but in the past 2 or 3 years have really started to increase my collection (resulting in a decrease in the bank account).

Really enjoy and appreciate all the information this site has to offer.

See ya'll in the forums.

Former Jarhead, Pro Firearm

I've been on this site before and love the crowd and the expert advise.
I'm a 20 yr Marine vet, work for Home Land Security, and occupy my bunker (home) in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. I do some gun repair and a lot of Gunkote and Dura coat for the locals. I'm a 1911 fan:D but love my long guns too.

I look to chew'n the fat with some of ya.

Hello and greetings to all THR members:

I am new to this forum and I am glad to be able to join you. I live in Tucson. AZ a good state to live where the 2nd Amendment still mean something.

I am active duty with the AZ Air National Guard, 31 years Air Force and still serving.

I love to shoot my hand guns a lot. A few weeks ago I became interested in semi auto rifles. I am highly interested in the AK 47s. While researching AKs I came across this sight. I have enjoyed the forum and I look forward talking to as many as possible.

I hope to buy my first AK in a few months once I am certain what I want. I have learned so much by reading information and tips and links in this site.

Take care all and I look forward to getting advice and learning. I hope that I can help some of you too

(Starship1st)

Finally joined the group!

Between finding some good info and getting links emailed to me by a friend that on here, I finally got around to joining the forum.

I was raised on a farm/ranch in western Montana and been around guns most of my life. I did 4 years in the Marines as a radioman w/artitllery, then got out for 4 years. But after working 8 different jobs in that time just to make ends-meet, I reenlisted into the Navy as an Avionics Tech. I've been in a P-3 squadron (and going back ot one) and also worked in calibration. So that puts me here in southern Cali for now (and can't wait to leave their crazy rules and regs) and getting ready to go back to WA. But retirement is in a short 8 years from now.

Personally, the things I like are NASCAR (GO 24!), hiking and camping, and shooting. You'll also find my radio tuned to country music and after noon eastern to talk radio (Rush, Hannity, and Levin).

Looking forward to finding more info on here and keeping up to date with the issues that the mainstream media tries to hide. If you read the quotes in the signature line, you could guess where my views lie.

So far I have just had a great time with my new guns. Have hunted all my life and enjoy the sports we are lucky to have in the US. Looking forward to this new enjoyment with the pistols. Not to good of a shot yet but if the gray matter is still good in my head I should learn fairly quick. Look forward to every ones posts and the knowledge gained...........Chortdraw
