Hello

Hi guys, new member from Juneau AK, just got my first shotgun and im looking forward to visiting this site often!

Newbie (to this board) from Delaware

Mostly interested in hand guns, the occasional shot gun or long rifle. But am mostly interested / focused on self defense and understanding the handgun from an engineers point of view.

Im in Delaware (home of the most f'ed up concealed carry laws).

Rebecca

Wow, hey all. That's great, I'm glad we've made the leap and joined up. This place is growing by leaps and bounds. It's good to see you all. This is a good place with good people.

Hello!

Hello everyone!

My name is Erik and I live in the northern part of Sweden. I´m a former 2:nd Lt in the Swedish army and since my interests are shooting, outdoorslife, survival, history, general politics and physical fitness, this forum seems a natural choice.

I often start discussions about the sound and natural use of guns, and teach as many as possible how to use them in a safe way, and look at them as useful tools. In this way I try to stop the spreading of the hysterical gun ban policy.

I envy the American freedom and individualism, since the socialists in Sweden are trying to put a blanket of conformity over every kind of own initiative.

Here are issues regarding weapons and self defense almost like cursing in church. People who stop criminals in the act, often face criminal charges themselves, and the assailant walks free. Not logical in a responsible society.

I enjoy your collective wisdom, and look forward to take part in future discussions.

If any of you are owners of Swedish Mausers (like me), and need help in translating, feel free to contact me!

Warm regards from a cold Sweden/

Erik Nygren

Hello Erik, I hope someday instead of facing charges for being a concerned citizen and helping ,that they start giving a medal to those who help stop the criminal. This might put a crimp on committing a crime when the felon pays the price. Keep warm and enjoy your Mauser

Well said Chortdraw!!
Those people only understand one language..
If you ever come across a mauser for sale, don´t hesitate... You will love the workmanship... Shoots like a dream!!
Will probably go to the range tomorrow...

Have a great weekend!!
/erik

Finally got around to signing up. I used to shoot with my father when I was younger, but once I finished college and moved out I stopped for several years. I finally got back into shooting a month or so ago when I bought a Smith & Wesson Model 19-4. I've had insane amounts of fun so far and I'm picking up an M&P .40 on Saturday as a compliment to the revolver.

Hey All!!

New to the forum and just wanted to check in. My name is Brian and I see lots of familiar names here. Hi Indy! Mac Attack! Glad to be aboard.

New to the internet forum but been around firearms my whole life. I shot my first rifle (grandpa's old marlin model 60) when i was 2!
shooting, hunting are my main hobies. i live in the backwoods of kentucky, so i (thankfully) dont have any neighbors to put up with!

im only 17 right now but i know more about firearms than most people that are in their 30's (no offense to anyone out there)
i also an a part time machinist and i have used my new found hooby to customize some of my favorite ones
-start at the smallest
-beretta m21a .22lr still factory stock
-ruger mkII 10'' bull barrel--volquartsen titanium extractor and smoothed out trigger
-glock 30 .45acp---night sights, beveled mag well, extended slide release, 2.5lb connector, laser, re shaped grip, bar-sto barrel with fully supported chamber, lone wolf recoil spring (my Glock is my baby)
-winchester 94/22 (they dont make them anymore)
-remington 597 .22 magnum---lightened and smoothed out the trigger
-limited edition winchester 1300 nwtf---custom made one piece action bars fabricated out of stainless steel tube, the spot welds on the origional one broke apart after several hundred too many 3'' magnums
-my pride and joy---a winchester 1300 defender, with 18'' modified choke barrel heat shield, top folding stock, a modified side saddel, drilled & tapped reciever for an ghost ring sight, vertical forend, flaslights, too many other things to list
-custom ruger 10/22---clerke international match grade bull barrel with threaded muzzle (amazing what you can do with a lathe), hand fitted to the reciever, hand made titanium extractor, fajen stock, lightened and smoothed trigger, extended magazien release, scope mount screws drilled out and taped for larger & stronger screws, a leupold 3-12x40mm scope, hand lapped chamber for smoother extraction. shoots sub 1/2'' groups at 50 yards
-of corse an old Yugo type 56 SKS, everybody has at lease one!
-remington 870 with 20'' barrel, modified choke, beveled loading port, flexi-tab kit, 8 shot magazine extension.
-an old remington 514 with a new firing pin i had to make
-remington 700 7mm magnum. with a jewel trigger, glass-bed synthetic stock, leupold scope, lapped scope rings, a shilen 26'' barrel, hand chambered and fitted, my favorite deer rifle

i regularly shoot trap and skeet, steel plates pistol, adn medium range high power rifle competiion. just tring to get some free time in before i have to go to basic training at Lackland AFB texas

(aint bad for a hillbilly huh?)

in the words of jim scoutten from Shooting USA-
-shoot often, shoot safe and i'll see ya on the range

also if any one needs help with glock handguns, remington 700, 870, winchester 1300, ruger 10/22 or MKII or any questions about metalugry or gunsmithing i"ll try my best to help.

I suppose I should introduce myself…

Been hanging around here perusing, observing, lurking, and whatnot, for quite sometime and you all seem like a decent bunch to be associated with. (Don’t let that get under your hat.)

Some of the other forums seem to have let things get out of control at various times but you guys and gals here seem to keep things on an even keel. I’ve seen a lot of advice, opinions, information, knowledge, and insight offered in this forum, in the friendly fashion, and I appreciate that. Hope I can live up to your standards and be a help where help is needed.

I live on a hilltop off a dirt road in Missouri, south of KC. I reload everything, shoot every week, and hunt on occasion. I won’t bore you with those details, but like a younger guy said to me at the range awhile back; “ You old guys have all the good stuff they don’t make anymore.” I said, “Yeah, we were all born about a hundred years too late.”

Ciao,

Kerf

Hi Folks,

My name is Joe, and I live in North Carolina. I don't have much history with guns but recently my home was broken into at night while I was there. Needless to say this destroyed a bit of my sense of safety, and lead me down the path of discovering this site.

I got a lot of great information here, as well as other places, and now own a 12ga Mossberg 500. I also just finished a concealed carry class with the intent to purchase my first handgun.

Hello! I found my way to The High Road ages ago... I believe I found a link on Oleg Volk's "A Human Right" site. Anyway, I've been lurking for quite some time, and just now decided to participate.

New from NC

I live near Charlotte, NC. Been reading for a while, but decided I may want to post. I pick up my CCH permit today. Like small auto handguns and any long guns. I have been shooting for a couple of years and I love the outdoors. North Carolina is God's Country.

I joined up last week and have a post or two under my belt. So i decided to introduce myself and say hello. Im looking forward to expand my knowledge, and gun collection, about different handguns. See you guys around.
