welcome return. i'm new too. your knowledge journey sounds intriguing. it sure can be a mind bending experience to try and jive politics with the seemingly (not, of course) arbitrary respect for civil liberties; until it becomes apparent its all ideologically driven.
welcome!

Thank you for the welcome, StratoWack. I came to find after registering that this forum doesn't have any section specifically sanctioned for discussions of politics, so you're welcome to message me privately if you want to dig into that subject, I certainly would relish the experience to the best of my ability.

Hi, my name Steven, I'm new to the site, in mass, we have to provide a reason for applying for license to carry concealed, was wondering if anyone had good reasons that the chief of police in my town would except

Welcome Steve and we have a section for just such questions. You will likely get some good dope if you pose your question there. You may want to include your state simply because the law varies state to state.

New member from Utah. I've always enjoyed hunting but have recently started to find joy in just shooting guns and guns in general. I have a few guns and just recently (last May) got an AR15. I have a long list of guns that I want to add to my "collection" but I'm really just a broke college student with dreams.

Hey Everyone,

I'm Ben - I grew up in Ohio and have been shooting basically all my life, but for the past few years I've been working in New York City (I know, it's horrible).

Anywho, since I don't get to shoot as much now, I want to get involved in the online shooting community as much as I possibly can. I also hope to eventually found a startup in the shooting industry and might need your help with that soon:)

Taste-wise, I'm a pistol guy--Beretta & Sig, specifically. I think the Beretta 92G Elite II was one of the most beautiful things ever created.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and contributing however I can. Thanks!

welcome OD92fs! did you have to take that baretta to 1 Police Plaza to register it, or are your toys still in ohio? that baretta is sweet.

New here

I am interested in the history of the 1100 by Remington, my all time fave I also love military shotguns; I love guns they are sleek and beautiful. I fully support my 2nd amendment rights and will fight to protect it, age means nothing as I am a fabulous shot and that is what people should focus on. Some of the people I would have feared most were over 70 as they never missed and some shots were 2-3 hundred yards away. My lovely pop pop has since passed. TY

Hi everyone:

My name's John and live in Farmington, Utah with my wife of 40 years, Linda. I'm a certified NRA RSO and firearms instructor.

While I've taken over 320 hours of tactical and defensive training (pistol, rifle, force-on-force, close combat, etc., etc.) I still regard myself as a perpetuate student as I'm always eager to learn. I'm also a big advocate of retaking basic courses when I get a chance given it always comes down to learning, understanding, and mastering the fundamentals so everything becomes second nature and automatic.

Folks at my local range see me at least once a week usually with a selection of firearms of varying calibers as I never seem to be able to make up my mind up as to what I want to take so everything and the kitchen sink sometimes goes along with me.

I have my Utah Concealed Firearms Permit (as does my wife) as well as my Idaho Enhanced Concealed Weapons License. I conceal carry (OWB) just about all the time when and where it's legal to do so.

I'm looking forward in catching up with my reading of past posts on the forum as well as participating in future discussions.

Hello to all,My name is Roe and I live in North East Mississippi near the small town where I was born some 53 years ago. I am married to Donna with whom I have been married for 35 years and met in the first grade. I hold a CCP issued in 1991 after applying in July of 1990 when Ms. law changed to allow such a thing. I like to hunt and shoot, reload, and work on my own stuff ( within my capabilities). I enjoy reading your posts and replies on any subject relating to firearms.

Hi everybody

Hello, I like guns. I like making wine and I like guns. I play a number of stringed instruments and I like guns. I was a caver, but my legs don't work well nowadays, so my hobby is centered on instruments and guns. I guess what I really mean to say is I love guns and playing music.

I brew my own beer and ARs. I like hunting for military weapons and gear, mostly guns. I also keep bees to help pay for my hobby. My son is finally getting into shooting so I am always looking for ammo deals. My wife hates guns.

1863 .58 cal Enfield is my oldest weapon and my newest is an Anderson .223/556 AR receiver with all kinds of potential. I am patiently waiting for a 300 Blackout upper.

I found my way here looking for NFA rulings on hand stops/grips. Looking forward to sharing thoughts and ideas on guns, government, and good-times.

hello all !! i have a pretty plentiful and diverse collection of firearms that ive been growing for some 30yrs, and have perused THR for many years. the knowledge base is amazing and the perspective of the many veterans here adds a unique dimension to it all. despite my years of experience with many types of firearms, i've always found myself seeking the advise of people more knowledgable and experienced; but hopefully i can reciprocate somehow. thanks!

Hello!
My name is Kelly.
I'm from Searcy Arkansas and I'm looking forward to talking to y'all about handguns.
Revolvers to be exact!
I inherited a small collection of various makes and models that are in all stages of rebuilding!
My favorite is a Smith and Wesson mod 638.
I put that one back together with the help of a gunsmith!

Howdy everyone-

New guy from Iowa. Been hitting this forum for odds'n'ends for some time, thought I would finally sign up and say hi.

Been shooting and hunting most of my life, but it seems I don't have the time to do those things as much as I'd like to. Usually go after pheasants and deer each year. I'm going to try dove for the first time this fall.

During the day I work in ag R&D and at night I have a gun business.

I've been haunting since I was seven. My first long gun was a an old 16 GUAGE Union fire arms pump shotgun my grandfather gave me. ( although the pump didn't work so it was a side load single shot. Had the reversed trigger you pushed foreward to cock and regular trigger to fire. Used a broom handle to keep the reciever from falling down. But killed many a rabbit with it. About 20 years ago a deputy that worked as security for the ER I worked in had a AMT Lightning with the 12 inch barrel and scope he wanted to sell so I picked it up for $200.00 the only problem I had with it is the kids would get a hold of it and would dry fire it. The firing pin wore to where it would fire maybe half of the rounds and it didn't make any difference pas to the rounds. Remington , CCI, Winchester they all fired the same as far as misfires. BUT when it did fire the thing was accurate. My problem has been finding a holster for it! Between the barrel length and the scope I've found nothing that worked. Thought about going to gun shows and looking for one .sweet gun, pachmayer grips. Sweet.

Hey guys! First time poster but I've been a reader for a while! Hope to learn lots of things here, can't wait!

Hi All,
Former lurker now new member.
I grew up during the 70's in a gun/hunting friendly family in NW Vermont. In addition to hunting/shooting I enjoy motorcycles, fishing and a variety of other outdoor activities.

After hearing me mention I would like to begin reloading, my beautiful wife, for my birthday, gave me an RCBS kit to get started with. Looking forward to getting setup to begin over the next few weeks.

I'm here because I love guns. I've been a lurker here fore quite some time, probably close to seven or eight years. I grew up around guns and am starting a collection of my own now. My current favorite is probably my Rossi Rio Grande just on its pure style. Anyway, I'm excited to meet you all and get started giving and receiving advice!

Another new member here. 54yo mechanical engineer, been shooting for close to 50 years, reloading for 40 years, carrying since 1994. I prefer to be behind a bolt or a 1911, but also shoot AR's, DA/SA, wheelie and strikers. Married for 30+ years to my high school sweetheart.

Good rainy morning from the great metropolis of Manor Texas. I have been a member for a while but never got really started here. I enjoy target shooting here on my little farm and I have built up a couple of guns. I started shooting a H&R Sporter 22 pistol when I was 12. And bought my first hunting rifle in 1972. A Winchester 264 Win Mag bolt. I started reloading then too. I also picked up Archery then too. My latest project is a Springfield Scout Squad in 308 Win.
