New to this forum from Calfabulous the State of Shock!(just a little levity!)
I've had a general interest in firearms from very early on. I like them all but tend to gravitate toward the unusual and obscure,Nagant revolver for example. Main interest is shotgun clay shooting been trying to break 25 straight since the early '80's. Mild interest in militaria.

I'm new here at the high road forum, I'm a weapons enthusiast and a kind of a history buff, especially military history I find very interesting, like the US Civil War, WW1,WW2 are very interesting.

I love BP revolvers and guns from the 1800's. The Remington 1858 New Model Army are a clear favourite, weapons from the civil war era are so cool f.ex the Le Mat is a gun everyone that loves BP revolvers want to own... including myself.
In this era it was all about killing eachother in the quickest way possible, damaging the enemys body to the extreme.
The soft lead projectile did unthinkable damage to the human body.... The use of soft lead projectiles are banned in warfare today....

I personally own these guns:
• A Remington 1858 New Model Army .44 cal.(from November 1863)

• Pietta Remington 1858 New Model Army .44 cal.( I actually bought it this week)

• Pietta Remington New Model Navy .36 cal. (From 1981)

• Colt navy 1851 .36 cal Armi san Paolo (from 1978-79)

• S&W Model 1 1/2 .32 cal.CF (1873 or 1876)

It will probably be more in the future, I have actually sold a few of my antique guns.
 
Hello. New member from Ohio here. I just got my Ruger P95 9mm as a gift from my brother in law back in May of this year and have been shooting it quite a bit. I recently had a set of Williams fiber optics sights installed and I like them a lot! I will be attending a Front Sight Defensive Handgun class in November with a buddy of mine from Utah. I'm really looking forward to it!

Howdy. I am a octagon trying to fit in a triangle world. I love hunting whether gun or traditional bow. 1st love is the bow but age and disabilities limit that so I have a renewed interest in hunting with a firearm. Going out this year to chase birds with my lab. Will try and get a few days in before I have to go in for another heart procedure. Hope to recover enough to jump shoot a few ducks on some creeks before freeze up as well.

Well, let me tell ya a little bit about myself. Been hunting and fishing most of my life. Seems like I was born with a gun and rod in my hands. I love reloading been at it for 55 years grand father passed it down to me.

I'm retired and working part time keeps me out of trouble. Been a NRA member on and off for the last 45 years. I'm currently working on a new rifle build for varmints got a pretty good deal on a Remington 700 SPS 243 Win. I've been reading some of the threads out here seems like a great group of people. Looking forward to talking to ya all.

Hello, I'm from Los Angeles. I own two handguns. I acquired these guns at the time of the riots following the Rodney King verdict (early 90s). Watching scenes of destruction on television gave many LA residents fear that "things are getting out of control" and that was my motivation for wanting a gun: to protect my family. Coincidentally I had a client who worked at Guns and Ammo magazine who walked me through purchase, safety instruction, and practice at an indoor range.

From what I see, this forum is about respectful discussion- that is why I joined. I hope to educate myself, and engage in thoughtful, rational dialogue on some of the divisive issues surrounding gun ownership, 2nd Amendment, etc. I have no special attraction to firearms other than as a tool for personal protection.

Hello. Firearms enthusiast here. I hunt, target shoot, new to long range as a hobby, and I reload. I have a couple semi-auto pistols, the obligatory Ruger 10-22, Browning BLR 308 Win, Sako A7 300 Win Mag, S&W M&P15T, Remington 870 20-gauge and a Beretta 390 20-gauge.
