Hi, I'm a old member from Alabama who's interested in big game hunting and older firearms
Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.
Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
I'm Travis and I happened to encounter a post by TallPaul (one of your members) about hid buying a Savage 99 in 30-30. I wanted to let him know that I own one in takedown model too. It was made in 1927 and was my father's deer rifle. He gave it to me in 1963 and I've hunted blacktail deer with it ever since. I only use it when I'm in heavy timber but use a Savage 99 in .308 out in the clear cuts. The 99s are great guns and I've never had to fire more than three times during a hunt to bag a deer (usually only once). I quit hunting (deer & birds) a couple of years ago but still have several weapons that I've collected/gathered over the years. With my age, the hill country of the Pacific Northwest gets to be a bit of a test.Hi!

Black powder revolver is very fun.Hello, I am from Mississippi. I am disabled/retired. I enjoy bible study, bass fishing and hunting. Black powder scratches my itch.
Wow!to the fella that emailed me about the coins inlaid into my 1860 Henry rifle....
Yes, they are real 1860 double eagles. I figured what the hell...
I'm never selling this rifle while I'm alive so I might as well make it look as good as it shoots!
