Congratulations on the retirement, the move to South Carolina and the return to reloading! That’s a sweet trifecta.

Welcome, you will find a lot of very helpful and knowledgeable people on THR :).

Stay safe.

Welcome . I reloaded for many years for rifle and pistol. Never for shotgun. Being disabled and now in an efficiency apartment I no longer shoot enough to reload . I sold all my reloading and bullet casting equipment to a friend. Good luck in your new home and I am positive you will consider the move the right thing to have done.

You’ll enjoy SC. The state has lots of public ranges and is firearm friendly. Let’s us know how things are going.

I retired in 2018 after 40 years in the nuclear industry...

Welcome!

I too was a Nuke, about a dozen years combined in Navy and commercial BWR. There are a bunch of people here that know the Ruger PR in 6.5 Creed and can help you dial it in. You are in the right spot.

Welcome! You probably feel the same way I did when I moved from NYC to Colorado in the mid sixties and breathed free air for the first time.

Welcome aboard.. You'll like it here. I'm sure you'll also like S.C.. My buddy who is also retired made the permanent move there last year. It's a great state.

Hi guys!

Another Coloradoan here, been shooting since I was a kid and recently took up reloading. Since the manuals I have leave something to be desired I wind up searching the net for info, and the top results are almost always from posts here on THR, so.....here I am! Looking forward to pestering you with questions you've heard a gajillion times. ;)

Hello,
I'm new to online anything. I enjoy talking about firearms reading about them up for about any form of shooting. Up to a year ago I had my dad to talk guns with, now I'm just feeling really kinda lost, so I thought I'd give this a try. Thank you.

Hello all! Thought I'd introduce myself proper here! I'm an upstate NY resident, been shooting .22 most of my life and just this year got myself a "big bore rifle". Posted some thoughts and questions about it in rifle country. Currently working on permit application process so I can expand my firearm knowledge and capabilities. Love me some lever actions and wheel guns. Like to think of myself as a cowboy at heart haha!

Been lurking on this forum for awhile and have found plenty of good insight here. I look forward to participating in some good discussions and hopefully learning a few things!

We are glad you found us. Sorry you can't talk guns with your dad, but I think you will find kindred spirits here who are happy to visit with you about such things.

We probably all have a little cowboy in us, and we share a fascination with the shows we grew up with even if they stretched the truth a bit. Revolvers have their own section and lever guns are discussed regularly in rifle country. Enjoy!

Hello everybody. Just wanted to introduce myself here. I live in north Texas in Celina, halfway between Dallas and Oklahoma. I have been shooting all my life while hunting, mostly ducks and dove. Just took my LTC certification course, thank God I live in Texas (or the south for that matter). I found this site while researching a S&W 38 special of my dads. I spent time in the Navy and am in the electronics field of work.

Welcome aboard, CAdams. We're happy to fill your noggin with all sorts of ideas, and trust that you will reciprocate. We like to keep things light, because there's plenty of head banging going on elsewhere. Settle on in and make yourself at home.

Hello Everyone,

Name is Adam. No Military background although being born and raised in San Antonio TX I associated with a large group of them. Mostly stick to reloading as my family got me into it. currently working on 30-06 for deer season in my Mossberg patriot but I think I got that one nailed down just tonight with a 1" or possibly smaller. Hard to tell as it was getting dark and I cant walk down range for the target, man that thing throws some fireballs out the end. Got my reloading press in 2018 and reloaded consistently since then.

Welcome, Adam. Nice to hear that you have an appreciation for the classics, rather than jumping on the bandwagon for the latest alphabet whizz-bang cartridge. Come in and have a look around.

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
Hello all...
My name is Steve Jackson. I’m 71 yrs old next week. That means that I was born in the first half of the last century. Seen some stuff and done some stuff. I’m a Florida cracker. Vietnam war vet. My wife is a retired USAF CMSgt, so she keeps me in line. We live on the West coast of FL and love to offshore fish. We are retired and are both very active. We believe in natural rights to freedom of movement, speech, self protection, and privacy. We hunt and fish for food, and we both love to shoot. We maintain both handguns and long guns to those ends. I am a musician and have enjoyed that for many decades. Mostly inactive now due to the present circumstances concerning the biological threat. I also am a woodworker in high demand from relatives near and far who commission my work on a continuing non-profit basis (if you know what I mean). I’m glad to have found such a great group of folks to learn from. Thanks for having me.

Steve, you sound like the kind of guy we are or want to be. We're glad you found your way here, and look forward to your wisdom being added to the knowledge base. All we ask is that you be kind. Enjoy!

Joined up mostly for the reloading forum. There is lots of good info scattered all over though. Just got into shooting a couple years ago. I'm an upgraded knife knut of many years. I now have more guns than knives. Spyderco, Cold Steel, laminated Japanese kitchen knives, Smith & Wesson, Henry, PSA, & Marlin.
