Hello

I am from south Mississippi. I been into shooting from 1985. My brother introduced me to shooting. I am a former VP of a shooting club. Working on getting back into shooting sports after 10 years away.
I was shot when I was in the 7th grade, and I don't blame the gun.:D

Hi,

My name is Mike, I live near Salem, Oregon. I just started coming here within the last few weeks, and I like what I see. Also a member at GlockTalk and RimfireCentral, but use different names. I'm into reloading, shooting @ paper and Sage Rats, and Waterfowl hunting. Hopefully I will be of some use around here. As far as firearms, I have a few Glock's ( 19's, 21's, and a 20, 7 or 8 10/22's ( haven't counted in a while ) A Benelli Nova, Model 12, couple SKS's, a few rimfire pistols, an EBR, Savage 12FV 22-250, original 1860 Colt Navy, and a few milsurp rifles. I don't get a chance to shoot as often as I like since the baby was born in Feb., but hopefully with the weather changing for the better, I can change that.

Glad to be aboard,
SquackDaddy

Hi. I am matt. I was a frequent poster over at SA's gun forum, the Firing Range, but since I was blocked by work and I live at work, I thougt I would come over here and see if I could contribute. I like evil black stuff, have a few ARs, build the occasional AK and finally got into title 2 stuff last year with a Uzi and AAC can. I work for the US Gov on cargo ships so I am never at home to play with my stuff, but I get to work with some cool stuff at work to make up for it.

I'm a new member and not very computer friendly so forgive me for any mistakes. Most can probably figure out or atleast assume that I'm a State Trooper. I love guns(always have) and I use them to protect myself and others in the course of my duties. I've had a rough run of luck with marriages in the last 15 years so my collection has dwindled severely but I'm back on track now and starting to replenish my supply. I love Glocks and have two issued to me, a 35 and 27. Just recently got an XD-45 and love it too. Looking at a Taurus PT1911 for next purchase but if anyone has a better idea based on price and performance let me know. It's good to be a member.

New member from Wisconsin

:) Hello all.

I joined as I have been impressed with reading the forum for a few weeks.

I have a Rossi 518 revolver and Beretta PX4.

Greetings and Salutations

Hello all!

Been lurking and reading...and reading and reading.....for several days now and figured I'd introduce myself. I'm 27 and residing in Southern California where I work in the Entertainment industry.

My future Father in Law is the firearms veteran in my family. Him and I have shared several conversation about firearms with me having a casual interest. Over time I started doing some reading and finally took myself to a gun range. Well the bug bit me and I've been researching and trying to learn every step of the way. I've been going to the range 3-4 times a week to get familiar with various firearms and have since acquired my HSC. I'm pretty much as green as they come and look forward to learning as much as I possibly can.

Thanks for some great reading thus far!

New here

HI, I'm a new member living in CA, grew up in IL and MI where the attitudes concerning firearms are totally different- grew up hunting for food, took the hunter's safety course (including Marksmanship) when I was 14.

I'm here because I am looking at purchasing a rifle or handgun and need help finding things like a shooting range, instructors, et cetera. I basically need to relearn everything I've forgotten since I was a teenager. I'm in the Palm Springs area.

Thanks in advance for help and suggestions!

Mary

Hi,

Rich Davis here. I carry a Sig P239 and am interested in discussions on 2nd Amendment, CCW and the like.

I am active duty Navy and a helo pilot by trade living in Jacksonville FL.

Hello from SC!

Hi all,
I've been reading for awhile and thought that it's about time to jump in. This Forum looks to be very informative and with a great bunch of folks. I've been away from shooting for about 20 years and recently started back up. My first purchase was a Sig 1911 Revolution Nitron. After several more trips to the range and some training classes, I plan to get my CWP.
I am looking forward to being a part of this great Forum.

Hello im new here as well.

Im from Pittsburgh Pa and i have a .45 ACP S&W revolver, .357 mag dakota revolver, .22 mag H&R revolver, winchester 1200 12 ga. shotgun, remington and mossberg .22s.

Welcome to THR!

We appreciate your interest in what folks have to say here and are interested in what you have to contribute as well. It is always amazing the information that is brought in by new members.:D

Please keep in mind that we're a family site with as many as 3 generations of some families as members and with a lot of young folks.

We're also different from other sites in that we are very up front about keeping to the "high road" in our discussions. If you're not sure what that means, just look to the upper right hand corner at the "Forum Rules" hot-button and click on that. The information was part of what you agreed to when you signed up, but it's good to review it from time to time (especially if you're not sure if you should hit that "send" button shooting off a reply to someone who's posted something especially annoying;) )

So, welcome aboard and fasten your seatbelts.

Good morning.

I, as others, bought some rural West Virginia property substantial enough to shoot on. Went through an early phase of high velocity/high volume weapons (AK-47, AR-15, FAL). Have now come to blissful harmony with 45-70, 45-120 and 50-70 single shot black powder rifles {Sharps repros}. I also have a weakness for military Mausers. I do my own reloading.

I have been following several threads concerning Sharps and blackpowder on this site and thought it was an appropriate time to be speak up. Thanks for the forum.

Hi guys!

Cool forum!

My name is Rich, born and raised in WNC and live in Charleston, SC now. US Army and National Guard vet with MOS's 31M, 95B and 11B (Signal, MP and Infantry).

Been around guns my whole life but have gotten out of practice the past few years and my marksmanship has suffered tremendously.

I'm back though and working on it. ;)

I presently own a Colt 1991 .45, Bushmaster AR-15, Winchester Defender 12ga, and my very first .410 that my dad bought me when I was 6 years old.

Got some 1911 questions though and it looks like I found the place to ask.

Hello everybody

I'm brand new to the website and just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Oklahoma, live & breathe Sooner football and I'm a staunch advocate of the 2nd Amendment. Would you believe I'm a Democrat if I told you ? Anyway, I just began my gun collection, and have added a CZ 40P and a Yugoslavian SKS so far.

I love the CZ, but every now & then it temporarily jams while reloading another round in the chamber during shooting. I had the pistol checked out & cleaned professionally, and was told it was the way I held the pistol while shooting. I have definitely noticed a difference in shooting due to the basically non-existent jamming issues I'm having now, but I still want to completely eliminate the jamming. Has anyone ever had this issue with a CZ 40P ? Also, what's the scoop on the Yugoslavian SKS's ? I hear it's a great rifle to shoot for the money ( I still haven't shot mine yet ). Everyone's thoughts please.

Hello, Lucas here. I live around Latrobe, PA. You know, where they used to make Rolling Rock once upon a time. I'm 25, been shooting for literally as long as I can remember. My collection reads something like Rem. 700ADL, Ted Williams model 21, various old .22 rifles, Norinco JW-15, Ruger MkII, a Kel-Tec P3AT, Pietta made 1858 rem replica, and a WASR-10 among many others. As you can see my gun interests are very widely spread.
I've been lurking here for a few months, and finally decided to join up. Excellent site, lots of informative posts.

I've been a member for more than a year but I don't think I've ever introduced myself. (If I have -- well, old farts are entitled to repeat themselves!:uhoh: )

Bad news: I suspect my firearm collection is about as big as it is going to get, at least for a while. My wife is insisting that things like fixing the foundation of our house takes precidence.:(

So, as of now I have three handguns: a Kimber CDP Pro which I carry on weekends or night, an NAA Black Widow which I carry constantly with the .22 magnum cylinder, and a Ruger Old Army which has been sitting neglected in my closet, but which I hope to take out to the range for exercise this coming Sunday. Oh, I also have a Marvel conversion kit for the Kimber, but it has become a problem so is getting sent in for repairs tomorrow. (Oh, yeah, I am legally licensed to carry. Just because I believe that the Second Amendment is in principle the only license I need doesn't mean I am so dumb as to try and act on that principle!)

Of these, the most fun to shoot is the Black Widow with a .22lr cylinder. Next most fun is the Ruger, which is also the most accurate. The only drawback, of course, is the loading time.

Long guns: I have three Mosin-Nagant M44 carbines, one of which I have bubbaized with a scope and modified stock; an M39 Finn Mosin-Nagant which weighs a ton but shoots spectacularly well (better than I ever will); an SKS; an Enfield Mark 4; a Garand; a CZ 452 full stock .22, also spectacularly accurate; and a Saiga 12 gauge, which is sort of like a semi-auto AK-47 in 12 gauge.

The CZ452 is the most fun to shoot because even with cheap ammo it is accurate at 100 yards. The only thing I don't like about it is the 5 round magazine; I've heard there are 10-rounders available, but I haven't seen any for sale. The Garand is emotionally the most important to me because that is what I trained and shot with in Basic (shows how old I am!). If I had to sell all my long guns, these are the two I'd keep forever.

I post under my real name -- lynnkcircle is just my real name run together and, yes, "Lynn" was a man's name 60 years ago, especially in the south. If you google Lynn K. Circle you'll find I've spent a lot of time defending the Second Amendment and attacking racists and bigots.

Oh, yes ... I am a liberal of the old school who believes the Constitution says what it means and means what it says, and that the Bill of Rights applies to all American citizens. I also believe that English should become the official language for all government documents, that ballots should be available only in English, and that if someone cannot read English well enough to vote on an English ballot, they really cannot understand enough about the issues to vote anyhow. We need to both control our own borders absolutely and even violently if necessary, while we do whatever we can to encourage legal immigration. Legal immigrants have been a primary driving force of American innovation since our beginnings and we continue to need them.

Sound contradictory? Well being a real liberal means being non-ideological and forming your own opinions. That pretty much eliminates me from being able to belong to either today's liberals or conservatives since both sides seem to want everyone to conform to their ideology.

OK, old farts run off at the mouth and so I have. Now you know who I am.

Hi everyone. I'm a little late to the thread, but I found my way here after reading an article by Massad where he mentioned THR as one of the best places to discuss and learn about firearms.

I'm 31, from MA and have owned and handled rifles/shotguns for 16 years and pistols/handguns for 10. I carry daily and hunt when I can.

I mostly lurk and learn because I don't have the amount of knowledge, training or experience that most folks on here do so I am easily intimidated.

Since I'm stuck in Massachusetts all I've ever known is ridiculously restrictive gun control laws which I've come to realize don't necessarily extend beyond state lines. So I've had to adjust my way of thinking when it comes to some topics.

Hope I didn't bore you with TMI.
