G'day everyone,......

G'day everyone,....

G'day,....I'm Aussie Bloke!,...
I live down here outside Melbourne in Australia.

I heard about this forum while I was listning to 'Tom Gresham's GunTalk' show I now down-load into my i-pod and listen to while at work.

I'd rather listen to somthing intelligent than have to put up with the boss yelling at me all day,.....:D:D:D

What kind of shooting do I do?
Well I like target shooting,......
Have been long range shooting of late,....1000 mtr.

Hunting is another passtime of mine,.....in fact soon,...friday the 7th till monday the 10th september I will be doing a Deer Hunting course with the Deer Stalkers club I am a member of over here.
I have been hunting many times before but want to do the formal training anyway.

I am a member of a few shooting based clubs,.....
Life member: Sporting Shooters Association of Australia.
Life member: NRA
SSAA: Deer Stalkers club
SSAA: Field and Game
SSAA: Millitary Rifle club
ParaPark Co-operative Game Reserve

That should do it for now as its 1am in the morning here now.
See you all around the forum.

Aussie.

New but Old

I am a new member on this board. I do have the luck of being the Oracle DBA at the Browning/Winchester HQ. I have more guns then you can count, but then you never have enough. I reload, target shoot, teach Hunter Safety. Not much hunting because of lung cancer. They took out the parts I didn't need, but I am still here so I can be a pain to all my kids still.

Hi all new to forum here just saying hi look forward to contributing and some good discussion.

Hello Folks, New member.

Hello everyone. Some of you know me (heck, one of my Lawyers posts here, haha) I am Michele, I just wanted to get the first post out of the way. I am more of a lurker but I might pop up on a thread every now and then.

So, Whats new?

Hey there. Glad to see you aboard here. I wish I was a bit closer to San Antonio, so that I could partake of your range. I've heard good things about it. The range in town here in Austin has.... issues.

BTW, really good MySpace and blog.

Thanks Drizzt!

Funny you should talk about the state of affairs in Austin. That was the topic of conversation tonight. Can you fill me (and all of us) in on what is left? I know what happened to Mike at Hays...and that is sad. He is top notch and that was not a bad place to shoot. What is going on with the place in Manor? What about the place that was out 290...(I just cant remember what it was called...Texas hill country maybe? ) it was going north and run by "Crazy" somebody..or so I think they called him. did he sell out to developers? I assume Reds is still going strong.

What is left there? Sounds like I need to start to expand my Empire. Bullet Hole Austin has a nice ring to it :D

Red's is still going strong, but myself and several others I know have gotten a bit of a bad vibe from the woman who own's them. I am very good friends with one of the founders of the Second Amendment Sisters, and I was invited to help them with a 'garage sale' they were putting on to raise funds. Red's would not let us place literature inside for their customers, and were generally very dismissive towards any 2A rights activities. She was also asked if she would help sponsor a women's shooting academy that SAS was putting on, and totally blew them off. The Gun Store, over in Cedar Park, stepped up and donated to the cause to help out, though. It's a shame, since I used to live about a half-mile away from Red's in Oak Hill, and used to stop by there all the time.

New to the sight. I am a life long deer hunter and an Vietnam army vet. I been banging around with muzzleloaders now for about a year and have been wearing out my feet chasing elk around in Idaho for the last 5 years. I live in the central mountains of CA. and am retired.

Hello & Thanks from New Member in Chicagoland

Hello to all !

Long-time lurker, decided last night to join & participate (and use the advanced features!).

I have learned a lot from reviewing your threads, leading me to purchase a Sig P220 & Mossy 590A1. I am primarily interested in home defensive, but have been seeking out sport shooting to improve my accuracy.

I am currently watching the threads to learn of a good place to shoot my shotgun in Chicagoland. I have gone up to Bristol, WI - nice place, but too far for frequent visits and they do not allow 00 buckshot. I am now looking for some targets and going to the plinking range at Buffalo Range Shooting Park in Ottawa, IL. I would also like to find a close location to shoot some clays.

Thanks again to all for your informative community !

New member from FL

Hello all! :neener: New member from Gainesville, FL here. I currently carry a Kahr PM9 and a Kel-Tec P3AT. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with this community.

Best,
Michael

Hello. I got into shooting again in late 2005 after going for the first time in several years. My dad and I would go plinking when I was young, but most of the local shooting spots were eventually closed or guarded with a no trespassing sign. My collection of rifles consists mostly of recent inexpensive surplus imports. I love the history and the learning involved with surplus rifles almost as much as shooting them. I hope to learn more here.

hey guys heard about this place from a human right.com. just moved to NY and am getting settled in had a kel tek sub 2k in FL but i think its not legal in NY so i gotta pick me up a new rifle. big sig fan but i cant afford a 556 lol. going to college for crimnal justice. looking forward to making a stand aganist gun bans with you guys.

New here, who do I know from elswhere?

Just enrolled on the High Road forums. Have been and am a member of several other firearms forums including Gun Boards(Z71), ParallaxBills(Stephen), Glock Talk(Z71), S&W Forums(Stevie), Sig Forum(Z71), Luger Forum(Stevie), Gunboards Luger Forum(Z71), Milsurp After hours(Z71), P38 Forum(Stevie), Rimfire Central(Steban). A member of a couple of vehicle related forums too, but hardly ever post on those.

Must have too much time on my hands to be a member of so many forums, but I do enjoy chatting with other shooters and collectors. Some of those forums I just lurk on, not having much to post about.

So how many of you folks do I already know from other forums?

Thanx, Stevie.

I'm only on one other forum which you didn't list but I say Welcome Z71...good stuff and good people here.
