hey guys. New member from Idaho here. I signed up here to discuss some problems with a 10mm witness i had. I signed on to the CZ75 forum to solve these problems and its crap. i cant even post....:fire:. they say its because of their server or something, IDK.

Ive been a member on www.berettaforum.net for almost 2 years(good people there) and a member on www.CamaroZ28.com for almost 3 years(also a bunch of good people). I have the same handles on those forums so im not very hard to find. Anyways, just checkin in and ill see you around.

My name is Rex and I am one of the owners of www.budsgunshop.com We have a lot of good friends and customers who are members of THR and they recommended that we join THR. We normally do not have a presence on the forums, but we really feel like THR is the most reputable on the internet and thought it was the right place for us. Glad to come aboard !

Well, where do I start, but HELLO!
Have been using this site for awhile now as a great info site.
It can't be better, just look at the information that's here!
I'll post my needs and wants soon, but mostly what my findings are.:eek:
 
.22 mag handloading

Started loading the .22 mag this spring. Have loaded 3 main loads useing
3 different powders. They are CCI factory powder, PMC factory powder
and Hercules 2400. My shell holder is a RCBS .25 auto and bullet seating
die is a .22 Jet. You need to buy a collet bullet puller with a .22 collet.
The bullets pull mostly easy, some are alittle tough to pull. The Jet die
seats perfect every time. Just need to slightly guide bullet into the case
mouth since you cant bell the mouth any and crimp it tight. The factory
CCI load useing the 38 gr. fmj bullet uses about 6.5 grains of powder, by
increasing this to 7.0 grains I consistently get a velocity of 2368 fps which
equal 473 ft.lbs. Accuracy is excellent in my 22 inch Marlin. Bolt handle
life has some resistance but simply put a dab of grease on bolt handle
locking lug and it works fine. Case expansion is slight in length but okay.
I have shot about 200 shells useing this load with nooooo problems.
Extraction with the Marlin is perfect. Really smokes the .17 HMR.
Also worked up another load useing PMC powder and 40 gr. soft point PMC
bullet. Jumping up from the factory 5.9 grains powder to 6.8 gives a velocity of 2162 fps for 415 ft.lbs. My other load uses Hercules 2400.
Tried it as a lark but it works great. Its alittle slower burning powder then
the CCI and PMC powders but gets fast velocitys at slightly lower pressure.
Useing 7.2 grains with a 40 gr. bullet produces around 2257 fps for 456 ft.
lbs. Case expansion in length is slightly less then the CCI and PMC loads.
I even tried 7.4 grs of 2400 and averaged 2381 fps with 40 grain bullet for
503 ft.lbs. amazing.......... I have shot a total of 340 shells with these
handloads with 100 % realiability.

Thirty something mother of three and a wife to a wonderfull husband.
Funny thing is neither of us in the past were "into guns." It's not that we were opposed to them, but rather just never felt the need to own them, even though hubby has always wanted to go hunting.
Now that I've been suggesting hunting, self desnse, etc, he thinks he's died and gone to heaven, LOL.

I also found a sport that combines two of my favorite passtimes, target shooting and riding horses; Cowboy Mounted Shooting :D. I'm going to begin the training for that this June.

We currently only have a couple of mil surp rifles and one shotgun, but that will change shortly ;)

My name is John and I usually skip these introduction posts but maybe they are useful so I'll give it a shot.

My Dad taught me to shoot and handload from an early age like many here I'm sure. I enjoy just about any type of gun as they all have their purpose and strengths. I keep guns for self defense, hunting and because it promotes a healthier relationship between the gov't and the people.

Dad is gone now but I was able to keep a few of his guns and they are one connection that I can keep and hold. The family kept several guns which go back several generations and they are among the most treasured heirlooms.

Sorry to ramble but it is good to find this forum.

Hi, my name is Mazen but most people call me Max. I only got interested in guns this past year. My friend, who for the life of me cannot remember his screen name on high road, first introduced me to guns. Now I am into all kinds of guns but unfortunately I am not able to buy or carry yet. I am still only 20 years of age, and there are other reasons for why I can't buy.

I like shotguns, old rifles, and all types of handguns. My favorite handgun so far is the P99 Walther.


Used responsibly guns are a must.

I am Tony (ynoT) a new member, live in Louisiana but from Los Angeles.
Been shooting and acquiring guns for about fifteen years. Recently purchased a S&W M&P 340 and was directed to this sight when I googled the gun.
I own 7 handguns from 22 cal to 45 cal, 5 rifles and one shotgun.
I can reload but havent for years.

I'm Al, from the frozen tundra of Northern Minnesota. I was raised in a hunting household, so have been around guns for as long as I can remember. Mostly rifles and shotguns, but got my first Ruger .22 pistol at the ripe old age of about twelve. I am a retired L.E. officer, so have been carrying a handgun of one type or another for most of my adult life. I now have lots of time for hunting, fishing and camping, and make at least one trip a month to the range to put a couple hundred rounds through the .45's...a Kimber Custom II, and my constant companion Kimber Ultra CDP II. I also have a Star Firestar in .40S&W that belonged to a fellow officer who is no longer with us...that one goes to range once a year or so for obvious sentimental reasons. My main concern right now is to make certain that my 3 grandkids will have the same opportunities that I had to enjoy hunting, shooting, and have their right to own firearms protected. So let's all stick together and get the word out about Clinton and Obama...and their out-right lies about their stands on the 2A.......actions speak much louder than words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also nicknamed JAWS, probably for my eating habits. Been shooting and reloading since the 1960's. Smokeless powder, black powder (muzzleloading and cartridge), Pyrodex, cast lead, jacketed/plated bullets, corrosive/non-corrosive primers, all kinds of brass including aluminum cases, you name it from 380 Auto to 8MM Lebel rifle. Have made many reloading mistakes and learned from every one of them. Currently trying to sort out the differences in Speer- and CCI-headstamped brass cases, cause a whole lot of different companies beside Speer/CCI supplied those cases.

New guy checking in. I'm a Lieutenant Firefighter-medic for the city that I live in and an Army veteran (former 82nd Airborne Infantry). I'm an avid shooter, gun enthusiast, and hunter. I also enjoy riding ATVs, motorcycles and martial arts.

This year my son will be able to hunt with me in the fall and I'm currently in the process of buying him his first hunting rifle/priarie dog shooter(probably a TC Encore Hunter with a 308 and .223 barrel).

Well? I'm 28, married and an avid shooter and reloader. I shoot rifles, pistols, and shotuns regularly. My wife joins me for the pistols and shotguns not being much for the rifles.

I've been shooting and hunting for about 20 years, introduced by my father. Lifetime NRA member. Never shot competively, but "deep" into the science of shooting thanks to my fierce reloading habits.

I own firearms, shoot, and reload, for the following:
9mm Luger, 38 special, 357mag, 45 auto, 44mag, .223, .243, 7mm-08, 30-30, 30-06, 8x57 Mauser, 358 Win, 12 gauge, and 20 gauge.
I also frequently shoot and enjoy either pistols or rifles in 22LR, 22mag, and 17HMR.

I hunt primarily varmints, small game, and deer where I live here in the lower peninsula of Michigan - so that list includes crows, groundhogs, squirrels, rabbits, chukkars and pheasants (at a game farm), grouse, duck, deer and russian boar. The boar also being on a "ranch" but was a blast.

I can't claim to be wise in shooting/reloading because I'm not, but I'm definitely a student and a sponge, so this should be fun. I've been very involved at another reloading-oriented site I won't mention in case that's not cool, and hope the same for this one.
 
Hi all:) New member, also fairly new to the gun culture although I've always owned firearms of one sort or another since I was a kid. I'm 53 and a pastor of a church in Kansas. I have my CCL and do carry all the time and have had to present my weapon once when leaving church late one night. No one was hurt bad guys fled, thank God! Seems to be good folks and good info here, so thanks for alowing me access.

I'm new here, but not new to on-line gun forums in general. I'm registered at several other sites as rfb45colt (after 8 years, I decided to try a differant user name - safcrkr is what my license plate reads, and "the safe cracker" is kinda my local nickname).

I've been a full-time professional locksmith/safe-tech for 23 years (self-employed for 21 yrs).

I reside in a rural area, in far northern WI, just across the line from MI's Upper Peninsula.

I'm a gun-nut of the 1st order. I especially like ARs, AKs, 1911s, Glocks, & Ruger Blackhawks.

I've been a reloader since the mid 70s (shotgun, pistol, & rifle).

I've been an NRA member since 1968, SAF since the 1980s.

I also belong to Ducks Unlimited, Whitetails Unlimited, and the NWTF. Duck & goose hunting (with my two chocolate labs) is my passion. I also hunt deer with bow, rifle, handguns, & muzzleloaders. I also hunt ruffed grouse, & I just recently began to hunt turkeys (2 seasons with no luck so far). I spend my winters exterminating the local coyote population with my Armalite.

I hold CCW permits from MN & FL, and have been actively involved in the effort to get a CCW law passed in WI.

I'm 58, been married for 36 years, have two daughters, and 4 grandkids.

Hmm, not much to say. 39 years old, spent my first six years of adult life in the Army as an MP, haven't been shooting in a while. My interests lean toward SD rather than shooting sports (can't afford the ammo!) or hunting (meat in the grocery store is easier to track and catch). I've been reading THR for a while, trying to keep abreast of the trends in the gun market, and figured I'd sign up. =)

New gun owner in NC

Hello, I live in Timberlake NC. I just bought my first handgun (ruger sp101) a couple weeks ago and have already shot over 500 rounds. Between the random violence and the government wanting to squash my rights .... I decide to buy a gun, apply for my CCW, become proficient at shooting the gun and defending myself and joined the NRA. Now I found that I have a new fever for guns ..... I want to buy more handguns ..... lol.

I need to find a place to shoot in or around Person County NC. Anyone know of a pistol range?

Been doin' lots of reading, thought I'd finally join & post. I love guns, guitars & imported cigars. We've got plenty of all of those here in Utah. I'm 45 and apparently one of the few people that like both Glock and Sig.
Always carry, never tell.
