Hmm, where to begin. About me, I'm 21 and currently employed as a deputy for my county's dog warden. I'm currently in school for law enforcement, and waiting for the next opportunity to show itself so I can make the leap from writing tickets and enforcing minor misdemeanors to being a "real" cop. But I digress.
What started as grandpa's Daisy turned into grandpa's .22 Marlin and so forth. Bought my first gun (WASR-10) shortly after my 18th birthday, and have accumulated a small stockpile bit by bit- the WASR, the Marlin, and my new PT92 to name some.
I enjoy firearms for both recreational and defensive purposes. Growing up with more relatives in the military or police than I can count on both hands, guns have been pretty central around my life from a very young age, although I blame it really on reruns of GI Joe. I'm by no means some backwater-granola-gun nut, but have always been fascinated by military history and the ideas of survivalists and things of that nature.
I consider myself an independent with democratic leanings, not too far left, but definitely opposed to uber-conservatives. I must say though, I do find it both odd and asinine that Democrats will complain about civil liberties abuses, except for the right to bear arms. Personally, I think all politicians are corrupt and self serving- from my county commissioner bosses all the way to the top. I don't like mixing politics with range time, but it seems inevitable that the two will mix, so I'm usually open to an intelligent debate.
Seems like a lot, but I hope it isn't too much either. That's all I can think of for now, any questions please feel free to ask.
