Hello

Hello folks,

New member here, name is Scott, and just wanted to say hi. I live is Daphne Alabama, just across the bay from Mobile. I treasure my Second Amendment rights, and will oppose any effort to take them from me.

Hello. Good to know that you will oppose the satanic goons who are trying to oppress us. That is good, because we need all the help we can get. You'd better join the NRA if you haven't already.

I'm new here. I have been a gun user since I was 12yrs old. I have used shotguns and rifles for hunting, and handguns for sport. I travel using my RV and recently have felt uncomfortable camping. Therefore, I purchased a Bersa 380 and am in the process of getting a concealed carry permit. During my training class the terms .38 and 380 came up and I realized I didn't know the difference. I went looking for an answer and here I am. Can someone give me a short tutorial?

Hello -

I'm Bob and I live in West Michigan. Recently retired and decided to take up shooting again after not having shot anything more powerful than a slingshot since I was a kid with a hand-me-down Western Field single shot .22. I've been lurking for a while and am amazed at the amount of information and helpful advice on this board. A while back I bought a break-barrel .177 pellet gun and rid my yard of chipmunks. (19 last summer) Then I got a used taurus 941 to keep squirrels off our bird feeder using shot shells (about a half dozen so far) but my wife likes the Taurus so much I can't get it away from her, so I had to get a Ruger Single Six so I can shoot lr and wmr.

I think I must be hooked because I just got myself a new Marlin 981T and joined the local gun club. They shoot a lot of trap there and I never have so there is probably a shot gun in my future also. or maybe two. The rifle range at the club has berms out to 400 meters so I might be in the market for a center fire too. Will it ever end???

Hmm, where to begin. About me, I'm 21 and currently employed as a deputy for my county's dog warden. I'm currently in school for law enforcement, and waiting for the next opportunity to show itself so I can make the leap from writing tickets and enforcing minor misdemeanors to being a "real" cop. But I digress.

What started as grandpa's Daisy turned into grandpa's .22 Marlin and so forth. Bought my first gun (WASR-10) shortly after my 18th birthday, and have accumulated a small stockpile bit by bit- the WASR, the Marlin, and my new PT92 to name some.

I enjoy firearms for both recreational and defensive purposes. Growing up with more relatives in the military or police than I can count on both hands, guns have been pretty central around my life from a very young age, although I blame it really on reruns of GI Joe. I'm by no means some backwater-granola-gun nut, but have always been fascinated by military history and the ideas of survivalists and things of that nature.

I consider myself an independent with democratic leanings, not too far left, but definitely opposed to uber-conservatives. I must say though, I do find it both odd and asinine that Democrats will complain about civil liberties abuses, except for the right to bear arms. Personally, I think all politicians are corrupt and self serving- from my county commissioner bosses all the way to the top. I don't like mixing politics with range time, but it seems inevitable that the two will mix, so I'm usually open to an intelligent debate.

Seems like a lot, but I hope it isn't too much either. That's all I can think of for now, any questions please feel free to ask.

Howdy all-

Newbie here. Let's see. I am just getting back into reloading after a 20 year pause (military, marriage, kids, etc) found this website doing a search for that subject (reloading and shooting not the marriage, kids part :)). I just found a bunch of primers, bullets, my old RCBS Carbide Dies, etc. WOW like a treasure chest! I will keep everything except the powder. I have an H&K USP .40 that I bought back in '93, Taurus 38 Spl, Colt 1911 Gold Cup Mark IV series 70 .45, Berretta A390, Several Marlins one in .22 WMR the other a .30-30 lever action carbine and some others.
Anyways, live in the Democratic Republic of Maryland :-( Trying to make my way back South! Looking forward to lots of good posts and learning.
Back to reading what I have been missing!

New to guns and THR

Hi my name is Michael, I'm from near Springfield, IL. I am new to gun ownership (2 months), but have enjoyed shooting with my grandpa since I hit double digits in age. I own guns because I enjoy shooting at the range and for home defense. Unfortunately IL hasn't jumped on the carry yet, and probably won't. I own a Remington 870 12 gauge, and a Springfield Armory XdM 9mm. I have learned a lot from reading this site and will continue to further my 'gun education' here. Thanks!!

Michael

I am a 56 year old gun enthusiast who is waiting on SIGSAUER to ship my SIG 556 DMR. I believe that everyone should join in on fighting gun control laws. I enjoy the fellowship provided in most of the forums but I do not agree with all of the views that are posted by various members... I look forward to reading more on this site and others...

Hello all. Just a little about me. Born and living in Maine. I'm a WWII rifle fan. 33 years old and married. I am a traditionalist. I hunt in wool and wear fur on my head. For what it;s worth, I was an expert marksmen in the Navy. Yeah yeah I know. I'm a family and country man and I am in the camp that believes we are in deep doo doo. Just a blue collar guy. My motto is "if your gonna kill it, you better eat it. Intruders don't count.:)

Another new guy

Hi all. I stumbled accross this site and liked what a lot of you had to say, so I figured I'd get my two cents worth in also! I live in Washington state but have lived all over the country. I have a smallish but growing collection of firearms. I look forward to reading your opinions and putting mine out there. No clever saying yet, but I'll come up with something!

Old-un back inthe saddle

Hi all, I used to frequent here a few years back then got out of it and forgot my user info and email so had to register a-new. This has always been one of the better forums and its good to be able to post a comment now and then.
