Grew up with guns...sort of.

When I was a kid my Dad had maybe 40 guns in the house. Unfortunatly he was busy working and I was a punk a$$ kid and he knew better than to let me use them. Especially after my brother and I shot out the neighbors windows with our BB guns.

Well by the time I got some age under me his hobbies changed and he sold them all to buy rocks. He is into lapidary now.

So now I am building my own collection with a 1952 Mossberg 22 LR, a Remmington 270, Mossberg Accuchoke 12 gauge pump, CZ 20 gauge over under, Sig 22 auto, CZ 9MM, Taurus Tracker 41 Mag.

But the old man still has a Berreta 32 ACP and an old 10 shot 22LR target revolver. Hope is not lost.

I'm missing some snow, heron. After fifteen Minnesota winters, I am having some withdrawals down here in Arkansas.

New Member Intro

Hello folks I am new hereabouts. I have actually hung around this site for a time and joined today. It is a great site.

I am very concerned about the direction of Second Amendment rights in the years to come and I look forward to staying up to date with all the developments.

Ruger police service six SS

Hi, Just signed up and don't really know just how this works, but here it goes. I am a proud owner of a 1976 vintage Police service six. It has stamped into the side "Made in the 200th year of American liberty". I'm not really ready to part with it but am interested in knowing it's value. Thanks for any info you might have.

Hello all,

I shot guns when I was a kid, though we were never big hunters. I left target shooting behind for years while I started my career and family, but now at 40, I'm slipping back into the joy of shooting. I love to shoot for sport and leisure. I have a trusty Daisy Model 111 .177 BB Rifle, Crosman 2200 Magnum .22 Pellet Rifle, a 20 ga. Harrington & Richardson Topper 88 Shotgun and a Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm Pistol. As a project, I'm building an AR piece by piece. So far, I've got a stripped lower that I just completed and my stock is on the way. I've also been toying with the idea of learning to reload my own ammo.

I stumbled onto this forum while looking for Marlin Model 60 info. I'm looking to find one to teach my daughter to shoot with like I learned on my Dad's old Model 60. May get a Walther P22 for her to shoot as well.

I'm not much of a poster, rather more of a lurker, but I'll add my $0.02 when motivated.

IVANTHEHUNTER HERE TO SA hi ye all doing!!

Hi there ladies,
I'm checking in from the Republic of Ireland. Because of troubles in northern Ireland the normal rifle hunter and paper shooter have been denied access to reloading. But thats hopefully about to change before next winter.:D
I'm here to learn about reloading mainly but I'm sure i learn a lot more:)

I own and shoot .22lr Marlin S/A, .22Mag Anschuetz B/A, .220 Swift B/A Remington.

my dream gun is one that breaks down to allow easy storage and has several barrels, it would also be a hybrid of both the S/A's and the B/A's..
I suppose i better start building it myself:uhoh:

Any way hi.

hello from Fallguy

Hello, I am not hard core shooter as I live near a large metro area and getting to the range to shoot takes the better part of a half day. When I lived in N.D. 25 years ago it was alot easier. I am working on a rifle for my son and it is being dificult and I am looking for some help. I am looking forward to your comments.

Hello everyone. I've been a hunter for about twenty years, I've been in uniform for 11 years, first on active duty at Bragg, and now in the NC ARNG, who I work for full time. I really just developed an interest in firearms a few years ago, and started collecting some C&R's and EBR's. Recently got my CCW permit. My wife of 7 years got hers, too. Our first child was born last September; he received a Cricket .22 for his first Christmas.

New to THR

Name is Dan, and I'm a retired Air Force veteran living in NE Florida. I'm an NRA member, enjoy elk hunting in Coloraod, target shooting, and support protecting American's right to own and carry guns and ammo. I don't own many guns but like many different types. I have a Savage 110 30-06, a Savage 24H (really neat over-under single shot .22LR/.410 my grandfather left me), a Browning .9mm, a S&W .38 Special CTG, a S&W .32 snub nose, and a Iver Johnson Trailsman 66 .22LR 8-shot revolver my father left me.

Just stumbled across this website tonight and look forward to visiting often.

Hello! New member here.

Hello all.

My user name describes me quite well when it comes to having knowledge about guns and shooting in general. I have some history with firearms but as far as professional knowledge, i.e. ballistics, time on the range, etc... I have little. When I was young, we lived with a family friend on his gun range (skeet range, pistol/rifle range) while our house was being built. I was able to go through hunter safety at 12, shot skeet some while young, and have hunted as much as possible since then (but not as much as I would like to).

I am here to learn and ask questions. I currently own a Springfield 40XD, a semi-old Winchester shotgun (Ranger), and a borrowed 30-06 for deer hunting. I live in Tennessee and I'm a pastor.

Thanks to all. I look forward to learning from you.

I love ALL guns, even the crappy ones!

Hi, I'm John. I live in MN, have three children, an ex-wife, and am currently married. First and foremost, I am a HUGE fan of the second amendment, and would die in its defense if need be. I have a MN permit to carry a pistol. I am an over the road truck driver/owner operator, and love it. Just hate being away from my kids and my guns. I have a decent collection going(at least I think so), it may not seem like a lot to some, but I built it in less than a year so let's see what the next year brings. It consists of:

2 Romanian WASR AK-47 variants, both customized.
1 Marlin model 60 .22(b-day present to my 10yo son)
1 Cricket .22(santa brought this to my 4yo daughter)
1 410 breech load shotgun(santa brought this to my boy)
1 Stoeger 12 gauge pump, 18 1/2 inch barrel, full X choke, pistol grip
1 Beretta 90-two .40S&W
1 Springfield XD.45
1 Beretta model 21A .25
1 Taurus Tracker .357mag, 7 round cyl, ported
1 Bersa .380Thunder, inexpensive, AMAZING trigger
Nearly 1000 rounds for each(more for the obvious AK and .22)
1 Huge vault
100 Pounds of Tannerite(for emergency use and blowing up beaver dams)

I like to spend quality 1 on 1 time with each of my kids, building character through the responsible use of firearms, and also ensuring that they are safe and not curious about them. I'm basically a pretty simple guy that loves his kids and his guns. Oh, and I prefer my guns to be made of metal and polymer, no wood for this guy! That's about it, any questions? Just ask.

Hi to All!

I'm an outdoor guy and love to spend time in the woods. I'm an avid fresh-water fisherman, camper, and hiker. I'm a semi-retired airworthiness inspector/consultant working with private/corporate jets. I spend much of my time now playing around with antique outboards and building outdoor cedar furniture. We had a child later in life, so I'm quite busy with a 4-year old daughter. Wife is a CPA/CMA controller for a large corporation. She's always been smarter than I;)
I've always had a love of firearms. I own shotguns, a 30-30 Marlin, some 22's and .22mags, and a .357 Ruger. I've owned and loved a lot of lever-action rifles over the course of life, hence my forum name. I'm just getting back into hunting after a long time away from it do to my career in aviation. I like to pheasant and turkey hunt, and hope to get into deer/elk/moose in the future.

Hello everyone!

My name is Jason and I am a married 26 year old man, with a beautiful wife and 2 1/2 year old little girl. I have been hunting since I can remember, and enjoy the firearm culture more than the average person. I am a Freemason and a Christian, and a devoted family man.

I moderate on another gun board in the hunting section, and came across this site doing a google search for dating a S&W revolver I just recently purchased. Also many of the members on the other board always speak highly of this board.

Well that should be about it. Anything else just give me a holler.
