I'm a new member. I've owned long guns my entire life, but just bought my first handgun, a S&W .38 revolver. I also have my father's Remington 20-ga. semi-auto and his 12-ga. Savage pump, my grandfather's Winchester Model 1987 12-ga. pump, my own Remington 28-ga. from childhood, and my father's Winchester Model 61 .22 rifle. Recent political events have encouraged me to buy the handgun, apply for a lifetime carry permit, and get involved with organizations that are active in protecting our Consitution, with emphasis on the Second Amendment.

Ima newbie / Airsoft my #$%.

I'm in my mid 40's, I've been collecting all types of guns since I was 21; I apparently have no class, because I love em' all! Surplus military, plastic, classic, long guns, short guns, bolts, levers, AK's, SKS ($130.00?? I had to buy 2); I have as much fun with my 20 yr old series 70 .45 as my XDm .40. I am a CCL holder, and I carry a G27 in a nemesis pocket holster as my everyday gun. I work a lot, so I do not get to shoot as often as I would like. I do manage to stay competent with my carry guns, but I rarely get to break out the rifles for a day at the range. My 7 year old took his P99 Look-alike airsoft to the range with me last weekend & freaked out the rangemaster. Muzzle! Muzzle! (FYI--Realistic toys at the range? Not smart)I put the kid in the truck & kept shooting the new XDm. Glad to be in the group--the posts are professional & polite (until now). Oh--and that toy airsoft P99? I finally got around to loading it for the kid & thought I should shoot myself just to make sure it wouldn't mame the youngster. Bled for A WEEK. Ruined a white shirt 3 days later. All pellits now locked in the vaut. Kid wears goggles to shoot OUTSIDE. I hide in the house.

I have been lurking for a couple of weeks and finally joined.
Started shooting a Marlin .22 when ten years old, but did not gain a love for firearms until the past couple of years.

Thanks for all the good information on here from all the more experienced shooters. Hope to contribute soon.

Starting my collection:

Walther P22 pistol
S&W 9mm Sigma pistol

Just another FNG!

Hello to all you gun lovin' folk! I found this site while looking for info on my brand new 67 year old Mosin. I don't know too much about weapons, but I seldom have problems putting the ball where I want it to go, courtesy of the USMC.

I love long range, iron sight shooting and although my 7mm WSM has a pretty good scope on it, the Mosin is more fun (and harder) to shoot. Could it be the 30 yr old milsurp ammo or my near 60 year old eyes?:D

my weapons are or have been:

Modified SKS (2)
300 Win. Mag
Modified Mossberg 500
Win 7mm WSM
M91/30 Mosin Nagant

My name is Keenan, I hail from Tennessee/Utah. I am an avid hunter, and shooter. I participate in both Smallbore Silhoutte competitions and IDPA type handgun. I love my guns lol

My collection (always changing :)

-Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Classic .308
-Winchester Model 52 .22LR
-Winchester Model 1898 .22WRF
-Winchester Model 290 Deluxe .22LR

Just got on to find some answers, looks like a great site.
I love my AR-15, an hope to get a GSG 5, if anymore get
in country soon. I don't shoot as much as I like, I still miss
shooting the .50 cal in the army, shooting out hundreds of
rounds from my M203 greande launcher (in the army also).
An blowing up a truck at just over 900 meters with a Dragon
(anti-tank weapon, also in the army..ha) an this was all back
in the early 80's....

do nothing." Abraham Lincoln

I am new to THR but not to firearms. I don't know all everything firearms but I know where to look it up. This website has been one of the best online tools for firearm info. I am active in shooting sports as weel as hunting.

My advise to everyone out there...books are the best resource for firearms information. Those who have books on firearms are the second most valuable resource. Join your local gun club and lastly...unloaded firearms kill. Be safe, have fun.

Hello Guys, Found this site and it looks like a good one. Been carrying for years but bought a PA3T and a Kahr Pm 9 recently. I am one of those doomsdayers I guess. Trying to get ready for the coming storm.

Hello, new here

Just want to introduce myself. I live in the midwest, married, have 3 children ages 18, 19 and 20 and have 3 dogs and a fulltime college student (getting my Bachelor's in Social Science). My husband bought me a Springfield XD 9MM today for Valentine's Day and can't wait to shoot it. I also own a Glock. I ran across this site when trying to find out what the requirements and background check include to get your CCL here in Kansas. If anyone knows that would be great.

Texan,

Thanks for the website! After having a juvenile pull a TOY gun on me the other day I decided that I would rather carry than have all my other "toys" (i.e. baton, mace, stun gun). I kept my cool and followed them while on the phone with the police. When they showed up I was chewing out the juvie. Come to find out he was a deputy sheriff's kid. Daddy wasn't too happy.
I got my husband a 45 ProCarry Kimber. Decided that this Valentine's we wanted another gun. Just like shoes and purses a woman can never have enough!!! :D

Hello folks!

I had to sign up after reading the great information you had in the posts. I'm a born & raised Texan. Love to hunt & fish. Just bought an AR-15 (Bushmaster Mod:XM15-E2S) back in July and reading up on some of the particulars. Seems I purchased it just in time. Got back from three months on the road and saw asking prices about doubled. other than the AR, I own an SKS, Mosin Nagant, Marlin 30/30 and an old 22LR.

I read all the material tha came with the AR and only based on the photos of differtent models I think I have the M4-A2/A3 model based on barrell design. Since there seems to be a thousand ways to build this gun, How can I find out specifics ie:type of barrell? I heard so many different things at the gun show i just went with the one that looked like it the most versital mounts/rails etc.

As for the first firing........awesome! once i got used to the elevated sight positions it was dead on accurate!!

Greetings and Salutations

Well, hello everyone, I am new, and this was the most applicable place to introduce myself. (Mod team, if I was wrong, could you please move the thread before you kick me around?)

So, hi, I'm Lucien. I'm 25 years old, fromer US Navy Master At Arms (MP), and I live in Panama City, FL (I hate tourists). I currently own three guns.

The first is a Remington 870 Express with an Avenger kit, 7 round capacity 12 gauge Magnum.

The second is a Remington Model 597 .22LR rimfire rifle, with a 3-9x32 adjustable scope, and a few of the high cap magazines. (30 rounds)

The third is a Charter Arms .38 Special Off Duty model, which has had the thumb break (or whatever you choose to call it) for the hammer ground down smooth.

I plan on buying another gun within a few months, a NAA .22Mag Mini-Revolver. (Very nice concealed carry weapon)

Hello Everyone, I am a new member and a fairly new shooter.

In October 2008 I had NEVER fired a gun of any type. I am proud to say that 4 months later I am the owner of 4 firearms, a Michigan CPL holder, and a range regular. I want to learn to do IDPA soon.

BTW, I have an XD-45, a 642 snubby, a Remington 870, and a Ruger .22 pistol for plinking. Not bad for 4 months. Shhhh...don't tell my wife!

Silver,

Welcome to the asylum!

I own a NAA Black Widow in 22mag, and it is an excellent daily carry here in SC (Shorts and Tshirt country, as is the Fla panhandle I would think.). There is a forum on the NAA website (www.naaminis.com) as well (it's having "technical issues" at the moment however).

I've got the 870 as well (actually, a pair), but my 22 auto rifle is a weee bit older; Remington Nylon 77 I bought new in 1974. :)

Hi, I've been lurking here for some time and decided to finally join.

I'm 26, from Finland, and don't have any firearms - getting a permit is nearly impossible nowadays.

Hi, thanks for having me! Been a member for a few weeks is all. Joined because you guys have great shared info, and it's nice to see there are plenty of responsible gun owners and people who still believe in our rights to own them. I live in Washington state, and I have several rifles and handguns. I don't necessarily have a favorite style. I grew up around guns since I was a young one, hunted nearly every animal out there. I don't hunt anymore, I switched to fishing. I had better luck hunting if you have to ask. Where have all of the salmon gone anyway!!! I'm ex military, and currently an LEO for the past 12 years. This is a great website and resource tool. Thanks.

Nube looking for 10 22 bull barrel recommendation

Just started shooting at Thanksgiving---only been "domestic hunting" (raise critter, throw down handful of grain, shoot from behind, up close). I hate paper work, and love shooting paper targets. I consider it self defense. Just got a life membership to NRA. I have a Glock 34 9mm, a Ruger Mk III (and 10 magazines for each). I have a Taurus 22lr revolver which I may need to send back for a loose cylinder. I have a 10-22 from the 70's which has suffered much abuse, and a new Savage Mk II 22lr bolt action. Our country has the oldest functioning constitution in the world, and I think the 2nd Amendment is an important ingredient of our nation's success. I started shooting when a prominent civil leader suggested that we should have a civilian force just as well funded and equipped as our regular army...not sure what that means, but it sounds like the brown-shirted SA of the 1930's. I'd like to start from scratch on a 10 22 for range shooting. I like the idea of a heavy 20 in bull barrel. There's a whole ocean of ideas and parts. I'd love for someone to provide me a concise list of after-market parts for assembling a 10 22 w/lighter trigger and bull barrel. ("Nube, buy these parts, from this site.")
