Hi. I am Mike and I am a student at Texas State University. I have just recently gotten into shooting and absolutely love it. I recently purchased a Bushmaster and am looking into buying a Moisin Nagant (cheap!) and a pistol sometime in the future. I look forward to using this forum and all the great resources it has to offer!

Howdy, I'm Dan live in ne and I do like my year around seasons. grants you time to get busy and a time to slow down... Welcome....:D

My name is john. I just joined today and have really appreciated the information I've read here. You all seem like a pretty good group.

I'm new to guns, gun ownership, and am mostly interested for safety and defense. I'm what most would call a completely "flaming Progressive" but I'm certainly not anti-gun.

Honestly, I look forward to learning more.

Greetings Ladies and Germs

Hi Everyone!

I've posted a few times, but just realized that I never introduced myself to the Board. I'm a retired attorney living in Las Vegas, NV, with my wife, Christy. I have a grown daughter and a couple of beautiful grandchildren. I'm an avid supporter of our 2nd Amendment. I was USAF during the Viet Nam war and self employed for about 30 years. I'm an active shooter, and carry every day with my Nevada CFP.

I've been a Moderator and very active on the carryconcealed.net forum, but it changed ownership and seems to have fallen apart. In any event, that forum is no longer accessible. So here I am!

I look forward to getting to know all of you better.

George

Hello from Baton Rouge

Hello, Folks,

I've been silently observing this site for a long time now, and decided to join to grab a little knowledge in the reloading department. I spend most of the warm months punching holes and the cold months making food, so firearms are pretty much a way of life for my family. I love guns, and I don't discriminate; I like everything from S&W wheelguns to lethal tupperware, and in long-guns I like everything from long-range bolts to short-range scatter.

Thanks to the guys who chimed in on my request for reloading press info. I'll probably be seeking your oppinions pretty soon, as I am undecided on my next CCW firearm, but I'll save that for another thread.

-Thanks

Howdy, folks. I'm Chris Knox. My brother Jeff is a member here, and occasionally gets quoted. We share writing duty on the Knox Update which appears at Shotgun News and elsewhere. Trying to spread ourselves around and see what other boards and groups are up to, as well as fly our flag a bit. Thanks for what you do here. Just staying in touch.

forgot to say

New to this site, My name is Andrew. I started into guns, hunting and reloading from the awesome training of my dad when I was only 12. Now at 43 years old, I just started into building my own custom pistols. I was searching google looking for a .50 cal barrel for a muzzeloader and found a guy on this website with a post for them.

I took a nice deer this year late season muzzeloader in Pa. with a homebuilt from scratch 8 inch .50 cal flintlock and want to build a precussion as well .

I am also planning a 10 inch 38 special single shot ultra-match ,
and a 10 inch 12 gauge double barrel blackpowder pistol (I know a short barrel shotgun is a class 3 in a cartridge but not in a muzzeloader)

I also enjoy want to accurize a 2 groove 1903-a3 Springfield, and tune my sks trigger.

I forgot to say, anybody have any pointers or advice and/or leads, please write, Thanks

Hey guys, guess this is where I say hi.

I've hunted whitetails in Pike County, IL since I was about 12, using my grandpa's Browning A-5 20 gauge shotgun. Killed a truckload of deer that way. Live 5 minutes from PASA Park (I'm sure some of you know where that is) but never got into shooting much. Wanted to, but just never did.

Then I went off to grad school down in Arkansas. Met a fellow student there who is a big time gun enthusiast, and with Arkansas being a very pro-gun place with lots of awesome stores and ranges (more so than Illinois), I was quickly hooked. Picked up my first handgun, a CZ 75 SP-01 and love it. Found that I like the feel of a heavy gun, not the lighter composites like Glocks.

Since then I've started to accumulate more and more. Finally bought a T/C Encore Muzzleloader to deer hunt with, and boy has that made life better from an accuracy standpoint. Also gathering some old hand-me-down guns from my mother-in-law. Many of which need some work, but all still shoot. The coolest of them is a Colt 1908 Vest Pocket pistol in .25 ACP. That little guy is sweet.

Anyway, I'm back up in Illinois again working on more graduate school. Finally just joined PASA by the way, so whenever I go home I'm sure to be there for a little bit.

Lurked around here for a couple years, finally stopped being lazy and clicked the register button. I've got a lot to learn about a lot of things, but I hope to contribute where I can!

Andy

Hey Everyone

Well, I've owned firearms and been shooting for a few years now, although I don't really have any particular favorites to shoot. I usually go with my remington 1100 (12 gauge) and my stevens 200 (in .308), but I do have a few other things around. I just started getting into handguns 8 or 10 months ago, and I hope to be adding one to my collection soon (probably a glock 23) and hopefully upgrading from that stevens to a better bolt action at some point.

Anyway, my interests mainly lie in target shooting, concealed carry, and RKBA politics.

Looking forward to getting more involved in the forum.

ANother FNG

Hello,

Cool forum, but.... it's not politically correct!!!
oh..... So THAAATS why I like it! that explains it.

I just discovered this forum today, 5 min ago. It was recommended by a friendly member of the "Fixya" website experts lounge. (I won't post his handle yet cause I haven't OK'ed it with him yet.)

But anyways.....

I am from the wonderful state of North Carolina. (some would say the state of confusion but then I would have to...... well.... agree.)

Thankfully this is a state that still remembers it is part of the great nation of America, and thus allows it's citizens to LEGALLY carry handguns in public.
Both openly without any permits, and concealed with a permit.

I really feel for you poor saps who live in those communist states like California, NY, and Washington DC where they believe a handgun is nothing more than an evil paperweight spawned by satan himself.

But enough of that drivel.

I'm supposed to be introducing myself here not rambling on about nothing, so here goes.

I'm 34, married and a father of 2.
My wife and I both carry so obviously we are gun owners.
She carries an H&K USP .40 with SPEER gold dot ammo.
I carry a Taurus millenium pro .45 double stack, with gold dots also.

We also have a mossberg 12 gauge house gun with the 18' barrel and top fold stock.
A lever action 30-30 (My deer gun)
and a bolt action 22 rifle.

I recently sold a mossberg bullpup 12G to a buddy and am wondering if I should start kicking myself now or if I should wait a while.

Any of you folks own/seen one of those or are they just as rare everywhere else as they seem to be here?

My name is Chris, and I live in central Florida. I own a Ruger P94 40. cal pistol as well as a Taurus 38. spl. (85ul). I have a Charles Daley 28 inch barrel shotgun as well. Been lurking around here for a while and finally took the time to register.

Just a lurker, decided to get an account finally. Don't have much experience or anything worthwhile to submit, but do frequent other forums and message boards.

hello...new to the forum

Hello everyone i recently decided to join this forum because it always seems to come up when i do google searches about firearm info. I have found it to be very informative so i decided to join. Its actually the first forum i have ever joined. Anyways i'm basically new to guns , i'm 30 /yo from New Hampshire. recently purchased my 1st two guns. I have a Polish Tantal 5.45x39 which is mine and i bought my beautiful girlfriend a Taurus pt138 (.380) for valentines day. We are currently sharing this at the range until i can get myself a pistol. Just figured i'd introduce myself. Hopefully this forum will continue to help me educate myself about the world of guns.

Hey everyone,
I joined a couple of days ago, but just posted my first comments today. I bought a Springfield XD-9 a few years ago to deal with a death threat. Since then, I have learned more about what our founding fathers meant for the 2A.

In an attempt to counter our country's increasing favor of gun control, I have a series of videos on YouTube titled "Quick Questions For Gun Control Advocates."

I'll be posting a new one here every week. Here is my playlist.

I look forward to learning more on The High Road.

Hello Everyone!

I am one half of a Husband/Wife New Gun Owner. We have a Mossberg 500 Bantam 20 Ga for the Spouse and a Remington 870 Marine Magnum 12 Gauge for me. We believe strongly in home defense and our 2nd Amendment Rights.

We wish to say "Hello" to everyone and look foward to the future here on this site.

Wife was former United States Marine Corps Sgt, now a Vet, and I was a former Semi Driver. I no longer drive due to one bad eye. The shooting I do despite my bad eye shows my determination to not allow advancing age to halt our ability to live.

Cheers.

Hi My name is Ron. I recently purchased a 38 Caliber Special revolver with a 3” barrel. On the left side of the barrel and hand grips it says Rossi, on the right side of the frame it says Interarms, and when you open the cylinder it says M94 on the frame. I have not been able to find any info on this gun searching the internet. Interarms is out of business, so I called Rossi in Florida and they said they don't have any info on this either.

If anyone knows anything about this specific revolver, or how I can get info, I would greatly appreciate hearing from your.

Thanks!!!

Greetings!

My name is Craig, I am a HCP holder in TN. I am a Glock owner, but I have recently gotten the itch for a good 1911.

My current weapons:
Glock 17
Smith & Wesson SW9VE
Replica 1861 Colt Navy Model in chrome
1948 Winchester 74 in .22LR with a 4x Tasco cheapo scope
1942 Izhevsk Arsenal Mosin-Nagant M91/30 with a few mods. Despite being counterbored, I've grouped about 6" at 400 yards. Numbers matching.

I have a deep affection for anything Militaria, and I've also got a 1971 AMGeneral M35A2. I'm restoring a 1969 Holiday Rambler travel trailer, and I'm contemplating it into a military-esque man cave to match the truck... much to my wife's chagrin.

Hi, I'm John, from very rural, west-central Virginia. I love all things firearms, but I'm predominantly a semi-auto Colt 1911 guy. But I love FN/Browning Hi-Powers and series 3 Smith and Wesson autos. My next goal is to own my first revolver, a Smith and Wesson 4" 686! My favorite above all is the Colt Delta Elite (3). The 10mm round is awesome! I'm a CCW holder, fiercely Pro 2nd, and appreciate all the good things my State Senators are doing to preserve my rights amidst a far left liberal maelstrom of influence in the northern part of the state.

I love sport motorcycles, especially twins, my personal favorite, my RC 51, and of course, my '81 Honda CBX. I tinker with cars too, owning and modifying my 2004 Corvette and Mustang GT. Pretty much, if it's mechanical, I'm addicted!

A couple of years ago, I picked up the bad reloading habit, which I think, in and of itself is extremely addictive. Well, any-who, it gives me the necessary fodder to feed my guns, which I love to exercise. I moved from CT 4.5 years ago and love the gun friendly atmosphere, and kindness/honesty of country folk, plus it doesn't hurt having my own pistol/rifle range 50 paces out my back door! Have a good one,
John

new member with a question

I am looking for possible information on an old gun left to me by a family member.

A. P. SHERMAN. Engraved on top of barrel

H. ELWELL WARRANTED engraved on SIDE PLATE

38 INCH HEXAGONAL BARREL

Percussion cap

Resembles a Kentucky Long Rifle

I greatly appreciate any ideas anyone might have. A local Maryland gun dealer and collector says it might be a conversion but no one really knows.

THANKS!
