Well not too much to say, Im just the average guy I have always been into firearms, I have a special interest in tactical and sport shooting. I am a hunter and I do have an appreciation for long range application.

Hi, I am a life long shooter, mainly bolt action but give them up in dove season. I have 3 sons and I reload when ever I can. Started as a small game hunter in the 70's shot competitive benchrest in the late 80's and early 90's .........now I plink, thus my nickname. I try to shoot every day...... I can hit what I am shooting , but never where i'm aiming. And truely love the reloading!!

Hi. I'm a 50 y.o. man, live in Central Texas, out in the boonies on appx 90 acres, married, have a big family though most of the kids are grown and out on their own now, have a dog, have a few guns, would like to have a few more. Got my first rifle when I was 11 or 12, have never been w/o at least one gun since then. I found this site while doing some research for a novel I'm working on, liked what I saw and signed up. I've already posted some in the forums, but I guess giving a short intro now is better than not doing it at all.

Atticum: it's a novel based largely on real US events of the last 15-20 years and where those events might lead the US in the not too distant future. It's a plausible scenario and a story I hope people will not only enjoy reading but that will also impart lessons so that what happens in the novel will never actually take place.

I've been a member for a few days now and just found this thread.

I found this forum and in just the span of a few days have practically bailed on another forum I moderate at in favor of this one. So nice to deal with mature and knowledgeable people.

Hi everyone. I just joined the board and found this thread. I am pretty much a novice when it comes to guns, used to do some plinking when I was a kid but nothing serious. I inherited a Ruger Blackhawk in 357 a few years ago from my grandfather, along with an old Winchester model 52 rifle. I like the revolver but I've decided its time to get a modern semi auto pistol and start working on getting my ccw. So i joined up to learn more about pistols from people who know.

New member here and just looking around, but I like to join rather than lurk as a visitor.

I stumbled on you guys while shopping around for handguns for me and my wife. she recently left her position with law enforcement and now works dispatch for a local police force - I think she misses her .40 ...lol

so anyway, this is hello and an early thanks for the great site and great info I found here. Maybe I ought to look at the classifieds here before running out to the shop down the street!

Joined at the beginning of the month as I am just getting into reloading and I've been lurking in that subforum soaking up all the great info. Gonna' start shooting IDPA this month so between that and range practice the reloading is where I'm headed. Just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for this great forum.

Intro

Hi all, just registered after lurking for a long while. I live in South Central Colorado, where I'm a Welfare Fraud Investigator (not LE). I've been shooting for 40+ years, was an NRA certified Rifle-Pistol-Shotgun instructor many moons ago, and shot competitively in IPSC during the 80's in AZ. I received my CCW permit a couple of weeks ago. Current carry favorite is a Taurus PT145 MilPro, after being a 1911 guy for soooo long. I expect to spend much more time reading & learning, than posting, but you'll hear from me now and then.

Hi guys, I'm a new member hailing from Saskatchewan, Canada. I have recently gotten back into hunting and shooting after a 15 year hiatus. I'm also getting started into reloading for the first time so any advise would be appreciated. I currently shoot a Tikka T3 Lite chambered in .338 Federal and a Savage model 10 (winter camo) chambered in .223 as well as a couple old .22's I've picked up or inheritted. Can't wait to hear some knowledge, advice and stories. Thanks.

well hello everybody... I am pretty much into everything as I own several shotguns, rifles, and handguns. as the saying goes " I have seen some guns I didnt like, but never a gun I didnt want!!!" I have checked out some of the forums here.. seems to be something I will enjoy participating in.

Hello, my name is...

So uh I am a big fan of guns...obviously. I like the Schofield Model 3. I plan on buying S&W's engraved one for when I retire. For now...well, in two years...I am sticking with the cheaper ones. I love Webley revolvers, any wild west firearm (not muzzleloader), I like James Bond's Walthers (anything CIAish or covert), aks, thompsons, m1garand, whatever is going to last. I will probably be spending the rest of my life looking for a Webley-Fosbery for sale (let alone one within my price range).

Me at 46 and pissed at the corruption, Hello by the way

HI,
I am Kirk from the well known granola state, I was born here and the sick liberal gun haters grew up and moved it around me!. I lived where Apple PC first started, in a Apple grove (Cupertino). My first thoughts were, Why such a big building and asphalt and almost all the apple trees are gone? It was a wierd apple processing plant with the funny sign.
I (wife and 2 girls) moved from the PIT of Dispair just before my daughters became old enough to latch on to High school buddies. A place my wife gave me grief over for 3 years, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, about 1 Hour from Yosemite. My back yard is all national forest and shooting is my passtime.
I have a AR15 pre ban, and just got a Mini 14 pre ban, because I cant stand the stripping of our rights. I am down right serious. If they want my guns back them they will have to take them from my COLD dead hands. My riflle barrel will be hot.
Sorry to see it all end this way,we were sold out years ago, the US is no longer self reliant. Hard labor is gone, and the PC games are taking our kids souls.

Hi everyone. Im 25 and from a suburb of Phoenix Arizona. I am here to learn. I recently got divorced so I made a list of goals that I have always wanted to accomplish. One of those goals was to buy my first gun and to get my ccw. I just took my ccw and a gun safety class this week, and now I am researching what gun I want to purchase.

Greetings and salutations.

I am from sunny yacolt, Washington. I joined this group because I am getting back into black powder and there seemed to be a lot of folks who know what they are doing in that area. I am chronologically gifted and my taste in guns has matured. I am getting back to the stuff I really love, always wanted but couldn't afford, or that are just plain fun. I was in Vietnam and consider the original purchase price of $89 too much for an AR. Most full auto's don't do much for me. I like old pre 64 Winchesters, Savages, and most single shots and single actions. I am an avid small game hunter and like big game hunting but am not very good at it. I reload for the 20 or so rifles and pistols that I have as well as cast for some of them. I am pretty much cheap so inexpensive is good. If I hit the lotto I would probably get a Barret 82 and a Colt first generation single action.

I hope to hear from some of you. I have recently purchased a Howdah pistol and a Lyman Great Plains Rifle. I am currently rounding up all the stuff that I need to safely shoot them (they ought to just give the damn black powder guns away, the damn stuff you need to make them go off costs more than the guns).

Good luck and God Bless,

Higene

Nothing really interesting, retired 70 year old oilfield trash, got transferred around a bit, AK, WY & etc, married to the same great gal for 49 years.

We have lived on the Colorado River in Arizona for 18 years, enjoy ATV rambling with the wife and summers taking the old motor home up to the Mogollon Rim high country.

I have liked guns of all kinds since I can remember, especially muzzleloaders, which I have been building and shooting for well over 40 years.

Homepage has more info and pics, but you may find it boring.

I'm a noob as well, been lurking here a few weeks
after stumbling upon this site via a Google search for information on AK's and ARs.

I've been following how our rights have been trampled upon since my teens.
I'm now 47 and it was my 16 year old son who has re sparked my interest as he too
sees things the way they really are.
Although I'm not all doom and gloom,
I'm very pleased to see other like minded people are at least taking notice and are
preparing for the possibility of SHTF scenarios right here in the US.

I want to say, I don't think we are a minority like I've read in a few spots here
and the reason I say this is because according to CNN, (I think is where I heard it)
the last few months have seen an unprecedented rise in
FBI background checks as more and more people are purchasing weapons.
We all know how scarce ammo is getting and how obscene weapons prices are getting,
so rest assured, we are indeed a growing segment of the population, not a dwindling one.
At least that's my take, from the reports I've seen and the regular folks I talk to.

I'm also Ex military from the Carter area, but never saw any combat... thank God.
