Hi. I'm a gun freak. I like guns of all kinds, period. I favor pistols mostly as I carry every day. During hunting season, I just add a rifle to the mix. I live on my own ranch, so going heeled is just a way of life in west Texas. I have gleaned some good info from this site, and hope to continue to do so...A big Howdy from Texas to all....

Glad to have this resource.

Hey folks I live in SC and Bermuda. I'm recently retired from the Navy (25 years) where I spent 22 years flying with with VFA-81 "Sunliners". These days I mainly relax and drink beer. I enjoy flying my Maule 260C and sailing my Bristol Channel Cutter designed by Lyle Hess. I split my time between Bermuda and the upstate SC. I am an avid firearms collector and competitor. I shoot ARA, RBA, Palma, F-Class, NRA Highpower, Long Range Pistol. I also enjoy Skeet, Trap and Five Stand. I collect fine time pieces and clocks particularly Patek Phillipe, Jaeger LeCoultre, IWC, Ulysee Nardin, Rolex, Sinn, and Breitling among others. My other passion is fine shotguns which I fervently seek out and collect. I hunt, fish, and enjoy camping. I am also an Attorney graduated from UNC Chapel Hill although I have never practiced law as I preferred flying. I may reenter law after a few years hiatus. I have been married 16 years with no kids. My wife is an Oncologist and is convinced I'm going to die of mouth cancer from all the dip, cigar, and mainly pipe I enjoy.

Hi my name is Gary, I'm from New Zealand. I'm interested in tactical firearms and generally anything that smells of cordite. I'm interested in importing firearms from the "land of the free", or at least the land of of so many excellent firearms:cool:

Hi everyone. I am new to shooting. I had shotguns as a kid and I am getting back into it as an adult. I own a shotgun and I am looking into purchasing a pistol. I am here to learn as much as I can so I will probably be lurking for a while. This appears to be a great, respectful community.

Hey all, my name is John. I am a United States Marine Corps Infantry Vet. Because of that, or maybe inspite of it, I love tactical weapons and shooting, however, I have been a hunter my whole life.

Greetings from NE FLorida

Hi folks. I'm new here. I'm disabled and a veteran (USAF) from Fernandina Beach, Florida, I've been shooting for 50+ years; competition, hunting, military and for fun. I carry concealed everywhere it's legal to do so and work part time at a local gun shop and range. I keep a small assortment of firearms in the safe (15 including flintlocks) and I shoot everything at least once a month. I look forward to getting to know y'all.

New member from Ohio

Hi all,
New here from Ohio. I'm mostly into handguns. I made my living for 34 years as a Deputy Sheriff, so guns have played a large part in my life. For the last 12 years of my service, I was a plain clothes officer with a take home vehicle, so I could work before and after normal office hours. As such I carried concealed for a large part of my service. Now that I'm retired, I still carry concealed on a daily basis. I am able to do so nationwide as a retired LEO, and also have an Ohio CCW permit as I firmly believe that all law abiding citizens should have the right to protect themselves, instead of relying on the police. There are far too few police, and far too many criminals.
My main interest is in handguns. I prefer 1911s in all sizes, Walther PPK/S,
And old time 45 Colts. One of my favorite guns is a Cimmaron Arms, Doc Holliday, 45 with matching dagger (same serial numbers) and a shoulder holster. The whole rig is one of only 500 made. I had to wait over a year to get it.
I hope to make a contribution to this forum from time to time.

Hi folks! This is the first online community that I have ever belonged to. I have used this forum as a resource for info for years & finally signed up!, lots of great information on this site!. I started shooting/ reloading at age 17 and am now 50. As the sign in name suggests I have been a Colt 1911 junkie for many years. However, I am certainly a equal opportunist as I have owned/ traded innumerable other pistols/ revolvers/ rifles throughout the years.... much to my wifes displeasure . :)

Hello, my name is Ian I'm a father of 3 daughters, a tool & die maker and I recently have undertaken smithing on 1911s initially to customize mine and then to make and sell others. I am quite possibly the only gun nut sout of the mason dixon that doesnt hunt but the 3 daughters thing is more than enough justification for having guns ( if I need any)

Howdy,

I'm the new guy here at THR. I'm a big fan of the science of firearms. I make interesting videos on YouTube about these. You should see some of my stuff on here sometime shortly.

Glad to be here, this looks like an intelligent crowd. That's exactly what I've been looking for.
