Hi, im Chris. I did 12 years in the Army, Iraq vet. Got out last year. I used to own a S&W model 60 .357 and a Ruger MK 2 .270 bolt action. Im just getting back into guns and now have a Glock 23 and a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Mag. Getting into reloading, so I can afford to shot the .44 mag, I just got a new Rock Chucker. Im trying to grow my collection as money allows, looking into mabey a remmington 870, something in 30-06 and a good 1911, probably a springfield. Ive been reading some of the posts on here for a while and have a lot of good information. Thanks.

Hello Guys.
Been around guns all my life but just got "into" them when I got my HCP last year.
I like old military stuff. My favorite is my 1903 Springfield--Remington made.
I carry a new Colt Commander XSE or a 9mm XDm. Shoot them both in IDPA.

Hello,

I've been shooting since I was a kid and I'm still an avid shooter. I spent a lot of time shooting with my father in law until he died a few years ago. I was surprised to receive a portion of his firearms so now I have more reasons to spend money on guns. I've been reloading for a long time. Ex Navy, kids are out of the house, life is good. Now I need to get back to reloading .223s.

Hi all,My name is Ken and I'm from Upstate New York.
4 Years in the Army got me into shooting but waited some time to pick it up so I'm making up for lost time.
I've had my pistol license for just over a year and been shooting for about 3.
I like Marlin .22s (and larger calibers),Mosin Nagants, and Rugers but don't limit myself.

Hi, ICE MAN here. Interested in all types of firearms! Vietnam veteran; now retired with a little time to go shooting and finally get a chance to go through, clean and organize collection. Have a few to repair now that I've got the time.

New poster, long time lurker. Interested in all things firearms but I love lever actions. I only have two levers now but I am always looking to expand. Lest see, I like the simplicity and reliability of glock and saiga. I like the smoothness of my new AR (never thought I would own one but oh my is it fun, and reliable, to shoot). I think the thing that amazes me about firearms...is that I am always learning new things that I didnt know I didn't know.

Sig man

My name is Tony and I am new to the forum, long time owner of the Sig P226, Walther P38 WW2 9mm, Ruger 338 Win Mag rifle and a reloader.

Hello everyone,
this is blackhawk from CA. I've posted about 3 times but decided to finally introduce my self. Too bad I can only shoot 10 rounds out of my triples. Here they are

Howdy! I've been lurking for a long while, shooting a whole lot longer, and just found this thread. Lets just say, I've been searching more than perusing. Love all things arms related.

Hello Everybody,

New to this message board. I have already found useful information about a newly purchased hand gun. Seems like a great place to meet like-minded individuals.

I live in Kennesaw GA, where it is the law for homeowners to own a gun.

Greetings folks

My last name is Brady. I had it before that gun grabbing group did and I will long after they are gone.
I have been into shooting for about 40 years. I started with BB guns and don't know where it will end. I have assembled a number of Ar-15s and would someday like to build a nice high end bolt action.
I have taught my wife and kids to shoot. One of my sons is now a State Trooper in the Great State of Texas.
I am retired from the Air Force and am still working for the DOD. I am currently in Iraq for a 6 month deployment.
I read everything I cna about guns and gun related issues and will tell anyone that will listen that I am one of those Gun people.
So, Greetings to you all. Enjoy the shooting. I wlll as soon as I am home from here.

Hello . . .

Did my greeting thing the other day, but it got lost in that server swap, here it is again.

Name is Gary and I really am a preacher. 30 years old, and grew up in CO and now pastor a church in East Texas.

I was raised hunting and around guns. Have read on here for awhile and thought I would join.

I have a couple of Ruger 357's, a G23 (my favorite), a kel-tec .380, a couple .22's, a mini-14, a NEF pump 12 guage I bought for $159 and cut barrel to defense length, and a 7mm mag from elk hunting days.

I am very interested in self-defense and being prepared in case things get much uglier than they already are. (drug traffic at border, world wide unrest, etc.) Next purchase is going to be an ak or ar. Been looking at that interarms ak, but not sure . . .

Looking forward to learning . . . I'm always a student

Hi newby here!

Hi I am Gabriel Le Roux from South Africa loves hunting and range shooting. I own 1908 7mm Mauser converted to .308. Just curious on what is going on elsewhere in the world and getting other opinions rather than just accepting what you're told by local experts.

new guy to the forum

Hi folks,

My main interest in firearms is hunting. I also enjoy doing my own gunsmithing. Googling for information has led me to this forum so many times I decided to join up. Making your gear just the way you want it yourself adds something special to the whole experience. This forum has been a treasure of information. My current project is making my Weatherby vanguard synthetic in .243 look like a Mark V deluxe. I truly prefer walnut over black plastic. Richards microfit provided the semi inletted AA fancy claro stock. Alot of very careful cutting, rasping, and sanding on my part has gotten me just the look and the fit I was hoping for. I'm in the middle of putting on the oil finish; many thanks to dfariswheel for his sticky on using minwax antique oil finish. I think the rifle is going to look great. As soon as I figure out how, I'll post some pictures.

New Member here from Connecticut. I am a Moderator on another (much smaller) shooting Forum. A number of our members comment about their experience on THR, I lurked here for a while and finally joined.

I'm primarily a handgun guy, although I also have an AR, and the only thing I "hunt" with any of them is that black dot in the center of the paper.

I'm in the middle of an Escape from New York, heading for Texas.

(I did not move to New York entirely by choice. It's where my graduate program was. Having finished that, I am making all due haste to move somewhere one can at least get a permit to own. It may take me a while to believe in CC; I don't want any too-abrupt shocks to the system to take me down just as I taste freedom (cordite, gun oil; good things rich and plentiful).

I grew up in the Midwest. It's saner there. But the memory fades....

So I'm lighting out for the frontier. The quality of living is higher even if it weren't for the fact that I can shoot, there.

(You may wonder how I ever got started shooting. Good question. I've been to an indoor range exactly twice in my life. Thoroughly enjoyed both times, though, even though the first time my brother had to rent guns for us to shoot. For some reason (that I cannot explain without resorting to culturally unfamiliar and unproven theories like reincarnation), I suck at almost all sports, but I started shooting at 50 feet and so far have yet to miss the x-ring. I've tried a .22, a .38, a .44, a Glock 9-mm, and so on; the only thing for it was to have a friend in Texas make me a gun and go shoot. So if you're at a range in the DFW area and see a dark-haired, 5'5" chick with a Northern accent who can't figure out which button is the safety and which the magazine release, but if handed a live gun will do the Navy SEAL thing of putting 6 rounds in a group that fits under a 3" x 5" card, that's me. I take no credit for that. It's inexplicable. Everything else I have to practice, and that's no guarantee I'll ever get good, I just get to not feel like a mutant.
(I still think it's way fun, though. I'd resigned myself to klutzhood.)

Hi everyone,

I'm a new member here, or, rather, I should say, I joined quite a while back but have never participated, so, thought I should say "hey."

I own a Daniel Defense M4 Carbine, a Ruger 10/11, a Remington 870, a Glock 17 and 26, a Ruger Mark III Huntsman and a Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded .45 ACP.

I enjoy the shooting sports and do most of my shooting at the Arnold Rifle and Pistol Club in the St. Louis metro area.

Hello Fellow Shooters

I am a shooter/collector from ohio. I have gotten alot of information from this site, and considered opinions from here many times before buynig something new. So, THANKS TO ALL, and I hope I can return the favor in the future.

Lee Metford

Hi, I bought a Lee Metford at the local gunshow here in Kamloops BC.

I saw that someone had asked a question regarding reloads. I use an IMR 3031 powder, about 38 grn, I don't own a scale so I estimate based on my Lee loader scoop, with .125 bullets (.311).This works very well for me. No tumble and fairly tight groups at 75 yards. I might add I really like shooting this gun. Mst of my fun has been with black powder muzzle loaders.
