Hello everyone my name is Tyler. I just recently have joined even though google has brought me here many-a-time as I was researching stuff. I'm an ROTC cadet in the Army and have 1 year left 'til commissioning.
I got "the bug" as soon as I hit 18, and my collection (if you can call it that) is a Ruger 10/22, Remington 700 in .308, a Mossberg 500 Persuader, and just recently bought a Beretta Px4 Storm.
If you have any questions let me know, this is only my first day as a member and I'm enjoying the site already. Thanks guys

Hi,
I live in a suburb of Portland, OR, and have for the last 23 years, but my home State is Idaho. I started hunting there at 12 years old and have been around firearms since then- I'm older than dirt now. My interests encompass most guns and shooting sports but I don't hunt anymore. I have a grown son and have been married to my wife for 33 years now. I'm glad I found you folks, and I promiss to share whatever knowledge I have that may be of help.

Hello from Ohio.
Hi everyone,

I am a new member from Canton, OH.
Been messing around with guns forever.
I like everything especially Colts, but am only good at shooting pistols.

This looks like a really nice forum, and I hope to have some good discussions here.

glad to meet you, from Canada

Hello,

Brad here from southern California. Followed 1911tuner's advice from all over the net, then found him here... tinker with some 1911's, attend as many IDPA/3-gun events as possible... but these days there doesn't seem to be much time.

Grad forum, many thanks to owners, admin and members.

Brad

Newbie

Hello, ironspoke here and decided to quit lurking like a large mouth bass and sign up. I had been directed to this site many times while seeking answers to many, many more questions than I would ever hope to type.(Reason for lurking I guess?) A great amount of knowledge and good work going on here and it is very much appreciated and if I don't post very much else I would at least like to post that. I have been plinking a lot with My HMR .17 (My 6 acres are remote and I have a dirt embankment/redneck range.) I own 7 firearms and the fun per dollar can't be beat on the HMR.17 for Me. The 7 that I own are a .45ACP handgun, a .22 Mag revolver, (2) 12 GA shotguns both side by side and o/u, a .410 single shot, a .223 varminter and last but least only in size the HMR .17. I regret having sold any that I have owned (4 of those). A lot of the lurking that I have done is about replacing those and learning all that I can for ALL aspects of ownership and the many responsibilities that are very well represented here. I am not well experienced with the internet or posting so I know just enough to know that I don't know enough (kind of a cruel spot to be in) and that's why I am slow to post much and not talking brands/models & etc. My work (Metalworking, that I enjoy) takes Me only 7.3 miles from My home. Old cars, trucks and bikes are and always have been My main hobby (metalworking again) but shooting sports, fishing and outdoor photography are great also. Again many thanks for a great site!!!! ironspoke

I will soon have my Concealed Carry permit and was searching for a high quality forum to join. The High Road seems like a good place to settle in.

Seems like every time that I'm doing gun research online, THR comes up as one of the references. So I finally took the time to register!

Looks like a lot of good, smart folks here. I'm happy to be aboard.

Hey everybody,

It seems like every time I've searched for an obscure gun related question, google has always popped up with a thread on this site, so I decided to join up. I'm from Oregon, but am living in Florida. I'm an O-1 in the Navy, been in for about a year now. I bought my first gun last October and can't seem to stop adding to the collection. So far I have an AR-15 (custom), Ruger Mark III 22/45, Browning Hi Power, and a Springfield XD9 Tactical (which I'm trying to sell). Hopefully I'll be adding a 1911 to the collection here soon. Anyway, I'm glad to be apart of the site!

New here

Hello all!

I am new here! I am into all areas of shooting, but mostly long range rifle over the past few years. I am a NRA and USPSA Life Member, just a gun nut in general. I recently invented a product that you can integrate with rifle shooting, or anything you use a scope on. It's on my website Boettcher Technologies if you want to check it out. I have free target downloads on the site as well, so help yourself!
I look forward to meeting you all!!

Tim

New Member Westy39

I recently joined this group due to the vast information available from the members. I was searching for information regarding an Eddystone 1917 made in March 1918 and found the most information at this site, and the most informed members at this site also. I felt it would be in my best interests to join this forum to have access to the knowledge base available here, although I am not big on joining too many organizations, this one however is a cut above the rest I have wandered upon. I am not one to post very often as I don't like being tied to a computer very much so please excuse me in that regard. I am a recently retired LEO after 22 great years with the Billings Police Department, Billings, MT. I am currently enjoying time with my wife and kids as they still seem to like me. I have a small accident reconstruction business so I stay busy. I find shooting to be a great stress reliever, though I tend more to cause stress than be stressed. Thank you all for a chance to partake of the wisdom of the many at this forum. Take care to all and remember keep your head down and your powder dry. Westy39

I am so glad to have found THR! I really enjoy sharing in the process here and apprerciate the info being passed along by the members. I learn by listening to others and it is interesting to read others points of view.

Hi all. I'm from Cape Town, South Africa. Came across this forum while searching for some info and hit the jack pot! Very informative site.

I'm mainly into air rifles (field target) but moving enjoy Blackpowder and centre/rim fire as well.

Hello, I am probably one of the youngest members of this blog. I take pride in owning my limited collection of firearms, both new and old. I am also Iowan (not an idiot out wandering around).

I am currently 15
I grew up shooting BB guns and graduated to shotguns and then center-fire rifles. I most enjoy my .308 win and shooting it at 1000 yards. I like the ballistics aspect of rifle shooting and recoil definitely doesn't bother me.

I also am proud of the fact that I am smarter than some adults, despite my age. I do a lot of gun-related research online and do have a limited amount of field/hunting experience myself.

hi
im new here i just recently started my collection of firearms but have studied use and information on a wide range and wide age of guns. i am in southern cali and hate all the rules. i currently own a 1925 sxs 16ga spanish shotgun with hammers of an unknown make that i seem to not be able to find ne info on due to the age and lack of markings. i own a ria 1911a1 which i love, a remington 1100 12ga and a savage axis xp 30-06 i look forward to chatting with u all

hello

I live in California and have recently started collecting WW2 guns. My first gun in my WW2 collection is a 1945 M1 Garand (thanks to my uncle). I ran about 100 rounds through it earlier this year and it was super accurate! I am looking next to purchase an M1 Carbine (shooter) and after that a Type 99 Arisaka (Mauser 98k to follow). I have always enjoyed shooting guns and WW2 history so now that I am a bit older (with some expendable funds) I have the gun collecting bug (this bug runs strong in my family). I have a C&R so I am set to start collecting some OGG (old greasy guns).

Cheers!

ya - I am in So Cal too - the rules are super strict! Get a C&R and it will make collecting the older guns a bit easier at least. Good Luck.

Hello. I have often been directed to this sight when I do web searches on guns. I found myself reading the posts for fun and decided that I should just go ahead and join. I am a Pastor and also work for the County Coroner's office as a Deputy. I grew up around firearms and in the last few years I have had a growing interest in pistols. I live in KY.
