Howdy, I have carefully followed this forum for several years, and today I decided to climb on board. I have to say that I am very impressed with the overall quality of THR compared to other forums.
I am a college student headed for a degree in political science. I know that makes me younger and less experienced than most of the members on this forum, so I am looking forward to gaining as much as possible from the more experienced folks here. I am not a complete newbie to guns however; I have grown up in a hunting family, and I have participated in several national shooting competitions. I was also blessed to learn the art of handloading from my great-uncle before he passed away. I am now handloading for eight different calibers. I own two .308 winchester rifles, and one single action .45. I also have immediate access to over 30 different rifles, shotguns and pistols. And I hunt deer, coons, turkey, hogs, bobcat, coyote, quail, sandhill crane, and dove every year. So maybe someday I can pass along what little I know to another beginner.
Well, I think that about covers everything in my life in one post:D Glad to have this wonderful forum available.

Hi y'all

I'm another new guy from SC. It's been awhile since I've handled any weapons on a regular basis so I'm open to tips, weapon suggestions, etc. I currently own a Remington 870 20-gauge and a Kel Tec P11; bought them for self/home defense. I enjoy shooting and pray that the only time I get to use my weapons is on the range.

I am the owner of a New Gunsmith Shop in Kenosha, WI. We have a Master Gunsmith on staff and a retired 22-year Navy Armorer (Gunners Mate). We also have three Apprentices that that vast experience in tool and die, welding and woodworking. Our goal is to bring the artisanship of true gunsmithing back to Southern Wisconsin. There are a ton of part changers out there, nothing wrong with that but its just not what we do. We are currently building Winchester Lee's from the ground up and all in-house. Visit our site www.nortonfirearms.com and tell us what you think..

Hi guys (and gals!),

My name's Chris. I hail from south-central WI and the great northwoods up by Oshkosh, and I am currently attending college (freshman) in Beloit, WI.
I was introduced to shooting and firearms by my father and uncles, who are all avid hunters. I enjoyed shooting sports while I was in Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout in December of 2010. I took my hunting interest further into competition marksmanship with civil war rifle-muskets in the American Civil War Shooting Association. I also reenact the civil war as a confederate soldier in the 2nd Virginia Infantry Co. F (originally out of Winchester, VA). I am looking into doing some WWII Soviet reenacting as well. I currently own:

Reproduction 1863 Type II Richmond Rifle Musket in .58 caliber, made by Euroarms (I call her Sarah).

Mosin Nagant 91/30 made in 1942 (an Izzy- I call her Tonya).

I am an avid supporter of the 2nd Ammendment, which I view as a necessary component in the existence of the America we know and love.

I look forward to learning a lot whilst I am here, and I hope I'm welcome.

Cheers,
-Chris

Didn't see an introduction section... so I guess this is about the only place for one?

Name is Kevin... Prior service active duty Army vet, 2 combat tours in the sand, and my daily carry is an American Classic II 1911 from Metro Arms.

I have several other guns as well, anywhere from an Ithaca WWII 1911, a few Mosin Nagants, an old M1 that needs a LOT of work, and a few shotguns. Nothing special. :)

And for my most recent acquisition... I LOVE this thing...

Now the 1911 has something to keep it warm while it's in it's case. LOL

I REALLY need a new gun forum, so I am looking forward to getting in with you guys. :)

joined a few days ago. joined after seeing all of the good things that people were saying about your forum. Have enjoyed myself thus far. I own a couple of nice guns such as a custom built 1911 in .45 acp from shooting specialities in chinook mt. He also sold me a commander length 10mm with a caspian titainium frame as well as a ar-15 in .221 fire ball, my favorite caliber. I do alot of plinking and varmint hunting, some long range stuff with a sendero in .264 win. I have a growing family, a three year old girl and a son that will be born next week. Already coming up with guns i will need to buy for them. I bought my wife a single six revolver as a welcome to the USA present as she is from new zealand. My main reason for joining thr is that i feel too manly for facie-space but still needed an social outlet.

Hello peeps. I essentially started my journey into the world of firearms about a year or so ago. Learning, learning, learning...

Hello all,
I have been lurking a bit while figuring out reloading. I am 23 and live West Virginia. I only do tartget shooting with my lonely 92a1 (have aa feeling he will get some company soon) And I also enjoy reloading as unproductive as it may seem on my rock chucker. This place is great so far.

P.s. sorry for the bad grammer

Hello THR folks, I'm from Texas and enjoy all kinds of firearms and training. I enjoy learning from like minded people and hope to make some new friends on the site. I'll be lurking mostly but if I can be of any help I will.

Hey Folks,
Names Nate, always been interested by guns since a police officer came to pre-school. My first question to her was to ask if she could shoot a tree 50' away, curious since day one. Grown up an maturaed a bit since then. In addition to being interested by guns, I recognize the need for some gun control, and through dioluge hope to find some firm ground to stand on.

Currently I own a Browning Buckmark Camper and a Ruger Mini-14 Tactical.
Cheers.

guess i should post here finally

name is Graeme, sounds like gram before y'all ask.

Just joined officially last month, been lurking on the boards here for the better part of a year now, my main interests are gunsmithing, handguns of all kinds (particularly revolvers), and military rifles.

Newbie from Ohio

Hi all-

Dave from Ohio. New to the forum, and actually got into shooting regularly just in the last few of months (taught how to shoot rifles and shotguns when I was younger, but have picked up an interest in handguns more lately).

As to firearms, I've had a Remington 870 Express 20 gauge for a couple of years. A few months ago got a Beretta Neos for plinking and to learn how to shoot. After I got OK with that, I picked up a Marlin 60 to have a rifle with the same ammunition (love that rifle). I'm doing pretty well with that one, too.

Most recently got a Ruger P95 (interestingly enough I seem to be shooting better with that than the Neos, despite the shorter barrel and harder recoil - go figure).

If anybody in the SW Ohio area had one they might wish to part with, I am sort of in the market for a 12 gauge 870 or maybe a Mossberg 500 or maybe a Maverick 88, but I'm in no hurry unless a really great deal comes along. Would probably like to use it for shooting clay targets, so a longer barrel would be nice.

I shoot at the local (ok, close by) range at Spring Valley (south of Xenia)- heck of a deal, actually ($25 per year). But I digress.

At any rate, I'm pleased to be in the forum - I've seen a few discussions and I do like that everybody seems to be pretty reasonable here.

Live from W.V.

Hello, my name is Richard. I'm an Army retiree, live in Martinsburg, WV, work in Northern VA and hate the commute. :cuss: I've started dabbling in woodworking, small stuff. I have a Ruger Mark II Target and a Springfield Armory 1911A1. I shoot as often as I can afford. I would like to try bullseye competition and if I can't do that then just about whatever else is available. I got tired of carrying my stuff in a "plastic briefcase" so I built myself a couple of range boxes; pretty nice if I may toot my own horn here. :D I threw in a couple of pics for everyone's amusement.

Hello Everyone,
I am happy to be a new member and given the awesome opportunity to learn more about all the techniques and new equipment for shooting out there. I do have and intensive background in tactical shooting but I will follow my professions trademark quote and be a "Quiet Professional". Plus I do not want to come off cocky, no matter our background we can always learn from people around us. I am a very easy going person that loves guns and shooting. I am always happy to be around people that love and enjoy our second amendment right. I am interested in shooting in competitive, tactical rifle/pistol competitions in Colorado area. If you know of any please point me in the right direction, I'm pretty good with a map and compass. (smile) Thank you much for the membership and look forward meeting other members.

Greetings from Canada

Hi all. I just joined THR because I have been reading it for years and have gained alot of respect for the Board and its community.

About myself: Been hunting all my many days, currently own a 9.3 Mauser for bear country hunting plus a 270 for prairie work. Plus the usual .22's, shotgun and a very fine but Mister InBetween Ruger 44 Mag carbine that is just not quite in the zone.

Currently passing along my life lessons on rifles and hunting to my 31 year old son who is quite keen, and enjoying it all.

I look forward to opining on THR!

best, maxcontax
