New to the site. Been on some other forums for years but just haven't seen the traffic lately. I have handloaded for years and done a bit of amateur gunsmithing. Just looking for a more rounded education.

Hello all stumbled upon THR while browsing the interweb. My name is Lance and I live in Arkansas. Just started reloading .308, and .40s&w.
I am prior Army, then reserves. Now Arkansas Air National Guard, did time in IRAQ. Wife will be going to Afghanistan this summer. Hope to learn alot here. Currently own Remington 700 SPS Tactical, and GLock Model 22.

Also am worried about the current state of the country and what our president may be thinking.

Greetings All

My name is Chuck and I live in the guns friendly state of Indiana, though currently I am deployed to the Middle East with my national guard unit. I have near 20yrs in the military now, both guard and active duty time. As far as guns go I am mostly a hunter: deer, turkey, pheasent (I grew up in Iowa) etc... But I also love the classics guns: M1 Garand, Mosin Nagants etc.... I enjoy the posts on THR and look forward to some great virtual conversations.

My name is Alan, I live in Utah. CCW permit holder, and just an average citizen hoping our constitution doesn't vanish.

Thanks for having me...

I'm AF Ret. own 2 Glocks, Ruger SP101 .357 and a Henry Repeating Arms .22 lever action. Range rat, field hunter and skeet shooter.

I'm glad I found this site. I'm a Cowboy Action shooter but love to shoot the older hardware. I'll be asking about loads and information on older revolvers. My other passion is long range Black Powder Cartridge (BPCR) shooting and I can assist to some degree from my experience. Looking forward to reading a lot of posts!

I spent a few years in the Army Infantry and returned home to Montana to go to college (graduating in May, woohoo!). I don't get out to shoot as much as I should, although with the lack of ammo I kind of have an excuse, now :neener:

Good evening folks from Arkansas; new to the Forum and shoot as much as possible. I am the proud owner of my fathers 1953 High Standard .22 target pistol and 2 RIA 1911s. I hope to get into reloading sometime this summer once the panic buying ends.

I had a name up here a long time ago when I first got into guns (2007) but after a while stopped posting and until now have just been reading and soaking up knowledge. This is the forum I have always used bc I trust it more than anything else and I appreciate the way you guys operate. I have learned so much over the years through thehighroad and plan to continue that, just with more posting!

Thanks!

I'll start off by saying "hi" and "Thank you!" as a lurker who has learned a ton since I started reading here about two years ago. I've enjoyed shooting for close to 30 years but have only become serious about it in the last year or so, after realizing how much better I could get with some regular, well thought out practice.

My current arms are: Beretta 92FS, Ruger Mark III, Marlin 60, PTR 91, and a Mossberg 930. I love'em all...

New BAR 30-06 w/nikon bushmaster 3X9X40

Long time shooter and sometimes hunter Just picked up the BAR and am looking for input on best factory loads 150gr and 165gr. Haven't done any hand loading in awhile. So just just factory ammo for now. Will probably hunt deer and maybe boar thus the semi auto for follow-up when needed.

To all that see this, I present greetings!

Hi all ... My name is Harry and I am a newly registered member here even though I have followed this forum as a silent lurker since late 2003. During that time I have learned quite a bit about a lot of things that are gun-related. Actually, many of my firearm acquisitions since then have been made based on opinions and recommendations made to others on this forum. With all the heightened anti-gun noise being made throughout the country recently, I thought it time to come out of the shadow and, when appropriate, add my two cents to the discussion.

I'm retired Army (20 years) and am currently employed by DoD for over 20 years as a Systems Engineer. I have over 40+ years experience with firearms and enjoy putting lead down range whenever the opportunity arises. I am, as probably most here are, a member of the NRA, support the NRA-ILA, and on several occasions have introduced the uninitiated to our enjoyable pastime.

I'm not much of a talker so in closing, we're clear on the right? Clear on the left? The range is hot! (I'm a bit center right).

Harry

Hello. Im way down south in Superbowl/Mardi Gras town...I hunt with bolt actions mainly and have a thing about shooting accurately in those so spend a lot of time shooting different loads, tweaking triggers, etc. Otherwise am pretty basic, although i have an urge to build a 223 with select components, which is how i found my way to this site. Ill start a thread shortly on that topic and am sure you gurus can guide me in the right direction

Greetings

Hello,
I've been lurking about for years and now have decided to join. I am recently retired from a career in Military Aviation. They forced me to retire due to Lou Gherigs Disease. I enjoy target shooting and formerly enjoyed hunting. Shooting to me is a family sport as well as a civic duty. I believe that it is a Fathers responsibility to teach his family to be proficeint in self defense as well as being able to hunt. I collect and where necessary restore mostly rifles. I love seeing the excitement of a new shooter when they "bang the gong" the first time. I am interested in learning more about different things as discussed here. My greatest pet peeve in the shooting world is the "Comic Book Store Guy" (like on the Simpsons) you know the type overweight, ponytail and goatee, expert at all things military and tactical even though they could never served a day. I hope to learn a lot and to pass on what I've learned.

Hello everyone! Long time fan, first time poster, but I figured that with the political climate we find ourselves in today, it's good to keep expanding my list of friends with similar interests!

I've browsed this forum before in search of advice from everything to ammunition reviews and recommendations, to DIY gunsmithing, and I've always been happy with the thoughtful and knowledgeable information that you all put forth. I hope to be able to contribute my own knowledge and experience, though I doubt it even comes close to rivaling many of the members within the community. Regardless, I wanted to introduce myself, as well as say a general thank you to all of you that post here!
