Preston:

You know, I used to use Unique too, and I too thought it was dirty. I use Titegroup now and don't notice it being dirty.

Hi I am a new member and I find this site wonderful and full of good information. I Live in New Zealand and love the sport. You don't know how lucky you are in the US, Guns and accessory's are so expensive over here in NZ. You have some much gear on hand and cheap to buy. Take some think like a 30 round mag for AR15, It's about $20 in US over here you are paying up $95, a good scope are very expensive. I like 3 gun shooting and when i watch U-tube shoots in the states, very envious.

Question

hello all,

After meeting and talking to a highly successful private gun broker in my home town I am seriously considering starting up a small, home-based business selling specific model, highly sought-after guns. He's focused on a very narrow market niche and claims to be turning over between 30-50 guns monthly via a combination of different websites (he doesn't have a store front).
I know this will require a FFL and am reviewing application process while I build a business plan and do some further investigation into local ordinances, etc. but was wondering if any of you could share some insights, guidance, cautions or general words of wisdom. My plan would be to first do some heavy research into best/most collectible guns and then begin scouring internet auction sites and estate sales, then start small and build from there.
Any recommended reading material? Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

Hi Travelman and welcome. I suggest you post your intentions in another section of the forums. The subject comes up quite often and there are many successful dealers here who can likely provide some good advice. My wife and I began working from home and gun shows before moving to a brick and mortar shop and business.

slide fire

I'm new and really into slide fire for fun.Between my ak47 and ak74 I can go through about 20 mags in an hour. It's a blast! Does anyone know if it's dangerous - like if the guns have ever blown up on anyone causing any bodily harm? I wear a glove but the rifle still heats up beyond belief and smokes, etc. Any comments, good, bad, indifferent are welcome.

Hello. I live in Puyallup Washington. 38 years old.

Mainly into shooting handguns. My first was a Glock 22 when I was 21. Since I have acquired many more Glocks, Kimbers and Sigs.

I have used this forum many times over the years while researching products. Finally decided to join!

I live in Georgia, raised in New Hampshire and have lived in many other states. My wife just gave me an 1858 Pietta .44 for Christmas, it's my 1st black powder. I've been hunting for most of the past 50 years. I just found this site and hope to learn a lot about BP shooting, tips etc. Like any new hobby, getting started can be fun. Only one problem, getting #10 percussion caps. Forget Cabellas, Gander Mtn., Bass Pro, I got my order into Dixy just to have the order cancelled! So, where can I find them?

Hello!!
I am from the gulf coast of Texas. I am not a novice to guns, but still recognize that I have a lot to learn. I am starting to reload 9mm and .380ACP brass.

I look forward to doing a LOT of reading

:D

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
Hi, I'm a long time gun owner, mostly for hunting. Nothing fancy, just nice working guns. Got both kids hunting, now working on grandkids. Just love that. I just started reloading a couple of years ago. I've had the equipment for 30 years, bought when I was in the service. All brand new never used. I knew I would use it some day. Works great. Looking forward to learning new stuff.

I enjoy hunting, target shooting, leisure shooting, tinkering with guns and collecting. Colts are my favorites but I like them all. Long rifles, pistols, shotguns...doesn't matter they all get my attention.

Hi, I am Richard81, 67yrs old, and decided to get deeper into Weapons, I found this Forum and joined! I liked weapons as a kid, I was EOD in the USAF, Viet Nam Vet, and did some bird hunting, I have always had a rifle, shotgun, and pistol. Did some target shooting. Then years later at 67 I got my Arizona concealed carry permit, became 100% service connected disability (coronary artery debase). I decided I wanted to take up shooting and hunting. Just purchased a Mossberg 500, Remmington 700 ADL 30.06, Buck mark 22, and a S&W 9MM. Now it is time to learn shooting and hunting.

Old member returning. Looks like I have not been here since 2011 when things took a bad turn. Anyhow, I am back and looking forward to getting caught up on things.

I ll give advice when I can ,but mustly will be asking questions.
so anyway Hey Everybody

Long time lurker finally sayin howdy..

I have been viewing THR as a guest for quite a while and finally signed up, then it took me two months to say hi.:D I am married, middle-aged, and happy(most of the time). We have 4 kids, 1 granddaughter, and 1 grand? due in March. I am currently gearing up to start reloading .45acp and .38/.357, although it is taking much longer than I would like. I am on a VERY limited budget so it takes time. :banghead:

thanks Ron, any suggestion on which location to post my question?
Sure. :)

I would start a discussion here in the general gun discussion area. When something doesn't seem to fit anywhere else the general gun section seems to work well.

Also, the moderators are normally real good at moving things around. :)

Top of the morning to ya from Sunny East Texas! (it was a balmy 25 deg here this morning) gRRRRRRRRRR ;-) I'm a retired educator and recovering skeet nut from the 70s and 80s with a lot of reloading experience with shotguns. Took many years off from shooting to help raise my girls, then retired. Recently got back into shooting but with short guns this time. My drug of choice is a S&W Mod 64-3 that was given to my mother by her brother in the 60s because she worked in downtown Houston on the 3-11 shift. My reloading fetish is coming back to the surface and I'm setting up to reload 38 spec, and some of the oddball long guns I have. Looking forward to doing bidness whit y'all.
