Hello, everyone my name is Stephen and I live in Virginia I like guns they're fun my interest is mainly Military rifles and some handguns. I used to have a lot of very nice rifles but after two divorces well you know where I'm going but it's nice to be a member here. And I will have a lot of questions and very few answers.

Good afternoon!
I have just joined your forum so thought I'd just say hello. I live in the UK and despite the best efforts of my government enjoy shooting shotguns and rifles of all types. I especially enjoy blackpowder shooting. I guess as a US forum you will have more access to stuff than I do but we can still enjoy talking about our sport!

New Member

Hello all, I am new member to this site I can spend all day talking, looking at and being around firearms. I am all about safety & security as it relates to firearms. I have recently become extremely interested in self defense tactics as well as becoming a better overall shooter. I own a Springfield Xd Subcompact .40 and I am currently on the hunt for my next concealed carry gun. Look forward to talking to you guy/gals soon!!!!

Welcome Mr Niceguy. I have the same xd & if you saw what i put it through on a daily basis, it would make u even more proud of owning yours. Mine is my kennel, outdoors, hog slaying side arm. My place is all sandstone, so dust raised is sandy and abrasive. Needless to say, my xd mostly stays filthy. I carry it in a molded plastic holster, it gets banged into poles, trees, u name it. When i run dogs on pigs, its in the crreeks with me, up ' down all the big hills we run. Never has let me down. Excellent choice, and welcome again

Cal from MD

Hello all,

I'm a late 20's male from MD. I was raised a hunter in southeast PA, and have always been around firearms. I've always owned guns, but have just recently purchased my first "high dollar" firearm, a Springfield Lightweight Champion Operator 1911 (take the term w/ a grain of salt, please).

For those of you who don't know, MD is a very painful state for shooters--I'm scheduled to take my HQL course a week from Saturday (4 hour course required to purchase a handgun), at which point my 7-day waiting period can begin. I'll be picking up my new 1911 on August 4th--the same 1911 which has already been paid for in full and is sitting at my LGS...

I saw it for the first time in person today, and was not pleased w/ the condition of the "new" gun. I'll post up a new thread in the appropriate place to discuss.

Anyway, happy shooting, all! Looking forward to being a part of the community!

-BB

New guy from Midwest

Just found this site while researching a repair for an inherited shotgun. Retired a few years ago and suddenly got the urge to learn about guns. Now have about 18. Mostly old Winchesters and Colts. Also a Trapdoor (what a boom stick), an inherited Japanese Arisaka Type 99, and now this old Trade shotgun I'm refurbishing. Took my interest in refurbishing old tools and applying it to old guns. Except for 2 very old percussion revolvers, I shoot all of them. Hope to spend some time here learning more about this great hobby.

hello to all here I am new on the site havent even been lurking stumbeled on it one morning this week and im hooked. there appears to be lots of info and opinions witch ought to make for imformative reading

Visiting from that damp spot in the Northwest

Hi, my name is CarlMc. (Hello, CarlMc!) I like guns. I had to put away my previous hobby of cars, since they leaked too much oil, parts took up too much space and I never had time to enjoy them anymore. For some reason, this hobby is much more expensive than cars, but takes up a whole lot less space, which my wife likes.
I keep coming across THR while doing various searches of various topics, and decided that it was finally time to join. I'm not so fond of what everyone else has, and although I do have one and a half AR's, I prefer more substantial calibers. Pretty much .30 and up. I didn't have a gun in 30-06, as I was trying to limit the caliber overload, but then my wife goes and buys me a Ohio Ordnance Works M1918A3 BAR. Sigh. Should I keep her? :D

Hello everyone. I've had an awareness of THR for some time and finally took the time to look at the site more closely and have been impressed. I've been hunting, reloading, shooting for at least 25 years and have always loved this hobby and right as guaranteed by the 2nd amendment. Looking forward to meeting some good folks.

Hi guys and gals. Been brought here a few times on searches and decided it was time to join up.

I enjoy guns of all types (though I you can probably guess my favourites). Most of my favourite activities revolve around being outside and guns.

Mainly a hard core plinker. :)

This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
