After roping in actors like Forest Whitaker, Donald Sutherland, Linda Cardellini and Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, the makers of the independent drama 'American Gun' have now roped in Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden to star in their film.

According to E Online, the IFC Films project will explain the rise of the gun culture in the United States. It is currently being shot in California. Harden will play a single mother of two sons, one of whom went on a shooting rampage at his high school.

I think we need to make a movie about the rise of girly sissy men in California...

Yeah! Huh? Hyuk hyuk hyuk.

Good "civility" post.

I think there is something wrong with men(or women) that are afraid of guns and other weaponery.

Dang Hoplophobes!

Didn't some psychologist say that there was some sexual dysfunction involved?

Rise of the Gun Culture in America?

I don't think our independence was fought with pitchforks and hoes.

"Throughout the Colonies, no implements were more abundant than firearms; none was more in use, more used up, more in demand. Gunsmiths of Europe flocked to the Colonies, sure of steady employment at repairing, and making and selling."

CHARLES W. SAWYER, FIREARMS IN AMERICAN HISTORY 29 (1990).

"American history provides ample evidence of excellent marksmanship in war and peace long before there were national or local rifle clubs."

Gavett v. Alexander, 477 F. Supp. 1035, 1048 (D.D.C. 1979).

And on and on we could go. Maybe we should.

The "gun culture" was not created in a lab somewhere by the forces of eeevil at the NRA. It pre-exists this nation. It has nothing to do with crime.

As a staunch member of the gun culture, I'm sick of the West Coast weenies telling me that I am evil because I own firearms. Bigots, leave me alone!

I have come to one conclusion about the statist-infested film industry.

No amount of squawking about how they're biased and hate freedom will get them to change. period full stop

The only way to get our viewpoint heard is to actually get out and start making the movies we want to see.

I mean, you didn't think that pro-liberty movies just made themselves now, did you?

;)
