i want to get a new pistol and have been looking at the XD series. I already know they are pretty good guns but i have also been looking at the glocks so im torn between the ptions so ur opinoins are greatly apreciated

Try to shoot both and see what fits you the best. You can never go wrong with a Glock. The problem I have is you can't rack the slide on a XD unless you are griping the pistol and have the grip safety depressed. I see it as a problem, others don't.

And I used to be very anti Glock. When series 3 came out I found they felt better than the bar of soap like they did before.

XD-S handle similar to a Gov't 1911..

get yourself an XD and spare yourself the "taint" of a Crock!

I own a few Glocks and an XD. If Springfield made an XD in 10mm and 45 ACP all my Glocks would probably be replaced.

The SA-XD is better bang for the buck in my opinion. Handled both and shot both. The XD9 was reliable 100% but the Glock-17 on the other choked on a few rounds.

i went ahead and bought a xd-40 compact and a xml light.

You'll be pleased with your purchase. I have three XDs, a 4", a 5" and the latest is the subcompact, all in .40. I like the subcompact best of all. Nothing personal against Glocks, the XDs just fit better. Very reliable and easy to maintain. Let us know how you like it after a trip to the range.

I just bought an XD and shot it 2 days ago.

It is fairly accurate but I'm not really happy with the sharp recoil .

I found I needed to grip the XD differently than my other pistols in order to
shoot accurately and to prevent fatigue.

It did function well and does seem to be well made.

It seems to be worth the $399

But buy the XD, not the Glock.
