I've been looking at .22 pistols for awhile and all seem to have their pros/cons and of course fans of one flavor or another. Stopped by the local gun shop yesterday and had to take this one home with me.

Price was right. I kept leaning towards a Buckmark and will probably still get one for my next purchase.

What red dots are you guys using on 22's?

Any holster recommendations for a 22a that fit with a red dot mounted?

Sorry don't have any advice on holsters and red dots. But I am looking for a nice plinking 22 handgun. That Smith is on my list, If you don't mind posting a range report It would be greatly appreciated.

I've had one for about a month now and have made several trips to the range with it. Sweet little "plinker" and very fun to shoot. For some reason I can only get 8 of 10 in the mag though. The 9th just stands point up when releasing the mag spring? Also had a couple failure-to-feeds the last trip to the range for some reason. I just purchased a Bushnell Trophy red dot for it. Looks pretty cool and works great.

Ive got a 22A that has thousands and thousands of rounds through it. Congrats on the purchase of an awesome firearm.

I've had my .22A S&W for a few years now. We affectionately refer to it as the "giggle gun" as it seems everyone that shoots it starts to giggle and squeeze the trigger faster.

It's a great shooting, very accurate pistol.

Enjoy!

Sorry for replying to my own thread, but found a place that makes holsters that will work with a 22a with a red dot. Seems to be only on ebay, but the prices are decent.

Search ebay for Skyball Mountain Holster.

Note: Added in case someone needs the info in the future.

I am thinking of getting one of these as well! Cabelas has them for $199 this month. Seems like a good price.

I bought one of these this weekend and had the pleasure to shoot it today. I found the pistol to be really heavy as I was expecting there to be more plastic. It's actually made from real metal parts!

The pistol shoots about as well as my ruger 22/45 Hunter with a 6+ inch barrel. Totally different feel though. I am quite surprised by how nice the gun shoots. It may actually have a better trigger than my Ruger.

Anyway, It's a nice pistol and I don't expect to have any trouble with it. I put about 200 rounds thru it and the only problem I have is a sore thumb from squeezing those little bullets into the magazine. I've got one of those 'miracle loaders' but forgot to bring it. If any of you 22 shooters have not used one of those magazine loaders, you don't know what you're missing (until you forget it).
