Sounds like you are on the way to a good one!

The standard mil spec charging handle works just fine on most rifles. The only charging handle I've used other than mil spec are the cheap presma ones from justrails.
Seems DMRish did you see Arken dropped their new LPVO 1-8X?
Sounds about right with the added spring pressure and mass of the bolt, IMHO if there was ever a time to splurge on one, a AR10 would be it.The AR 10 charging handles do cost more then the ones for AR 15s so, I’m looking at spending around $75.
I think I recall this as well, they were a couple hundred dollars ea for a while right? Then they dedicated an entire shop/staff to making them and you could get them cheaper, but you would expect a pretty good waiting period from the time you placed the order til it actually shipped for $90. Now you can buy a dozen at a time and get em in a week. It's almost like they screwed themselves by making them so affordable. I almost think Geissele would be out of business if LaRue used a standard profile trigger. I also am not especially crazy about their "flat bow" trigger profile either, although I have not tried one. They are excellent triggers anyhow. I just prefer the Geissele for a battle carbine I guess....I remember when the MBT was expensive. LaRue built a new building just to make the MBT triggers and was able to get the cost down. I bought my first one years ago when they put them on sale. I don’t need a three lbs or less trigger on a rifle. I’m not a long range paper asinine.
Any recommendations? I need a .936 with low profile. Will my gas tube from the existing 0.75 gas block work with a .936 gas block? In .308 , with the chance you will be using military ammo and just for more versatility for reloading ECT., I highly recommend an adjustable gas block. One that is easily accessible, the forend cuts have alot to do with that. The spring has little to do with reliability of it in normal range for stock type. The BCG should be of a high grade also, I used to be a BCM fanatic and they have been good !
Well, the charging handle and mags arrived. I went with the Aero Precision Breach charging handle with the large levers.

I really like the look and feel of this rifle. Now to decide on the optics.

Sounds aspirational, but continue on.
