Well, I saw a NIB Remington 597 today with a heavy barrel, laminated stock in .22 LR at a somewhat local gun shop for $260. I couldn't resist! How'd I do? Now I just need to look for a scope (as it doesn't have iron sights) and some rings - any ideas? Thinking of 3x9 var. power. Decent ones at or under $100? Any thoughts on rings? thanks!
