New revolver, Jack Weigand?

Hi
I bought a used revolver today and was told it was a Gemini custom. When I got home I noticed a small W symbol on the side but no Gemini markings.
I think this is Jack Weigand's trade mark.
it's an SP101 in. 357. Ported with a bobed hammer
Any thoughts?

Could be a tame the beast weigand; that's a good guess. Someone else who owns one will be along soon enough to confirm.

I'd be happy with an SP tuned by either Jack or Marc. Can't go wrong at that level. congrats!

Jack Weigand used to do Ruger SPs, maybe still does, but Gemini is, I believe a different company, very good reputation

Any rough idea of the value of this gun? it seems to be in great shape, tight and slick.

I can't really find one like it for sale so I don't have much to go on.

Does anyone else around own one like it?

Definitely Weigand's mark. Assuming standard action and refinish work, I'd say $200-$300 more than a comparable unmodified used gun. The stuff that gets repeated about custom guns having poor resale value is just not true anymore. Custom revolvers routinely sell for close to replacement cost.

Definitely a Weigand logo. And a great find. I had two done by Jack in 1997 - a 687 and a 696. Still have the 687 - killing myself for selling the 696 :banghead: At that time the only revolvers Jack would work on were Ruger and S&W. A top quality revolver-smith - and great customer service. Cost back then (I had an FFL and this was dealer pricing) was $225 for a "Tame the Beast" conversion. In addition to the logo stamp, you should notice the frame screws polished - a touch he used to throw in as part of his offering.
