Went down to the club today. Shot this "Shooters Model" Remington. Shot real
Well at 25 yds. Last shot was a "X" Brought it home. This is made by Pietta.
They are real accurate shooters. The blue job reminds me of the old blue jobs
On the Ruger Super Blackhawks. Real deep and pretty.

Is the trigger guard brass or silver its kinda hard to tell?

Looks nice though i like the dark grips.

Trigger guard is brass. I called Dixie and the lady told me they get the
"Shooters Model" in both ways. She said some people like the silver and
Some like the brass.

What makes it a "Shooters Model" Looks like a new army.

Any way: Guns are like girls, they are all pretty just some are prettier, that one is prettier.

This forum is like walking into Toys R Us with my grand daughter, I want, I want..............................

pains me to say

but thats a beautiful revolver, its a remmie and that hurts to say:D (i kid, i kid)
bluing looks very nice, so given the price, is it a slicked up/tuned version of the regular offering, sorta like a custom shop sorta deal?
Beautiful revolver
regards
Gene

Phil, does this one shoot as good as your Euroarms Remington? Or does this one need some polishing and fine tuning?

Go to Dixie Gun Works and look up "Shooters Model". They been making these
since the early niteties, mebby eighties don't know for sure. At the present
time they list for 900.00 They come from Pietta this way. I read they are built
On a different frame than the regular Pietta. They are assembled by a gunsmith.
The triggers are very light, no creep. The chamber dia is .456 and they take
a .457 ball same as the Ruger. The barrel is cut rifled .008 deep made with
progressive twist, that is to say it starts out at the forcing cone with a 1 in 32
Twist and gets faster as it goes down the barrel. The groove dia is .456 same
As the chamber dia. The lockup is very tight. Absolute no movement. This model
Has won several European championships. The frame is the Excacty same size
As the original. The grips are a little thicker than your normal Pietta grips. They
Are finished in oil. The bluing is the super polish deep bluing. It is a completely
Different revolver than the Pietta you buy from Cabales. There are some on this
Fourm who have them and can tell you more about them than I can. The top
Three in the world today are the Hedge which cost about 1700.00, the Pedersoli
which I think is around 800.00 and the Pietta Shooters Model at 900.00 All three
Are copy's of the Remington New Model Army. Oh, the front sight is a dovetail
So it can be moved left to right. It shoots dead on at 25 yds. I use 18 grs Swiss
black powder , creme of wheat filler and the .457 ball. CCI no. 11 caps. The
Nipples are the brass colored Tesco . The revolver is very well put together .
Reminds you of a Colt Python, or older S&W Masterpiece.

Well yesterday, I shot it a lot better than my Euroarms. I won two gold medals
At Friendship this year with my Euroarms, All I can say is if my health holds
Up, look out Friendship next year!!!

Is it sized the same as the regular NMA that Pietta sells? Is the frame the same size or maybe even the same piece with the better barrel and hand fitted internals?

Well thats another one to add to the list. Going to be a busy winter at the Florida gun shows for me.
I got a semi.

It doesn't look like it has BOTH the original sized frame and barrel. The originals have a gentle slope of the frame to the top of the barrel with hardly any step from the top of the frame to the barrel. Either the barrel outer diameter is smaller or the frame is larger or a little of both. The gun pictured has too much of a step to be of the original dimensions. I'm just being nitpicky. The gun is a gem. But take a look at an original's profile and you'll see what I mean. The Ubertis have an original looking profile but still could be overall larger or smaller in dimensions but the proportion looks original.

How do you find the ball fit? You mention the chambers are bored .456", and you use. .457" ball - a thou seems fairly minimal to retain a ball? Maybe you cast your own ball, mine are always a few thou oversize.
Nice looking gun; looks like a quality piece of kit.

Tight Wad

Please Santa Claus

What a beautiful work. I had no Idea Pietta manufactured anything that nice.
Santa loves me but not that much. Is on my wish list.

I'm glad u identified that gun -- I was gonna ask y everyone's guns are always prettier than mine!!!

The Pietta Shooter's Model is a serious competitive revolver. You have to remember that most of the guns sold in this country are made for the plinker/reenactor market. And while you are getting a lot of gun for your money, it's not a lot of money. If you want X-ring killing accuracy, you have to pay for it.
