New Rossi .357 thoughts?

This is all I know about them.:) I thought it was funny how they make a commercial like a movie or TV drama. I'm sure the antis love it!

After seeing that video I have concluded that carrying a Rossi must make people angry enough to point fingers and yell at you. Must be the cold weather or something. 😆

who doesn’t love a 3” 357!!!

thanks for the write up

Me. I am not interested in a barrel; shorter than 4 inches. I'm weird so sue me. :D

I know absolutely nothing about Rossi center-fire revolvers except I like the looks of those pictured. I picked up a new in box Rossi Plinker in 22RF a few years ago and it was a hidden jewel. A much better gun that I was expecting for it's price.

Rossi imported some decent revolvers through Interarms back in the day. @Mark_Mark would probably love the quirky 3" 44 specials (Model 720). Was the medium-framed 357 the Model 971? I had one and it was a good revolver.

I don't know much about the new ones, but some of that Interarms stuff was pretty cool and it's still available used for not much. In case the OP sees something interesting in the used case one day... :)

THANKS! .44 Special 3” Rossi! I bet Keith would have dig it

I once watched an old Rossi .32 long with busted grips sell on GB for $91. I still kick myself because although it was a turd…… how bad could it really have been?

But I’m not sure if I’d risk $600 on one. That’s getting within an angry mule’s kick to vintage S&W territory.

357 Magnum, snore...

A 3-inch fixed sight configuration is attractive but the 357 Mag is a turn off. The price seems good, especially if street price is slightly lower. Yes I realize 357 Mag is super popular but I have no use for it. The 3-inch fixed sight in 40S&W would be significantly more interesting to me...

I personally have not had good luck with Rossi. (Or taurus in general except for the G3 pistol which was great for the price)

Worth noting is that if you do have any issue with the Rossi, their customer service is absolutely terrible. It is God awful. And if you decide to sell it on the used market you might just take a huge hit bc it's a Rossi

Had a Rossi Model 88 stainless with a 3" barrel. It was a J frame size, 5 shot .38 Special revolver with decent sights on it. It was also a gun that S&W wasn't making at the time. Interarms was importing most of the Rossi line-up back then and while they weren't in the same league as Colt or S&W, they were a solid performing revolver at a reasonable price. I used it mostly as an all-purpose Kit Gun for hiking through the backwoods.

My dad has a ROSSI 38 2" revolver that he bought around 2008-2010 time frame. It has been very reliable for him and my mom. So if the new Rossi revolvers are anything like the ones made 1-15 years ago, then they should be good to go.

@Mark_Mark I thought of you last night when I won the bid for an old Rossi. It's a 3" model 88 in 38 special, basically a stainless 3" j-frame. It's one of the old Interarms ones, like the 357 I used to have. Won it for a bid of $175. I'll post pics when it arrives. :)
$175!!! SCORE!

One day, I’ll be bace enough to buy online guns

I sorta go for that 3" model, always had a soft spot for a 3" DA 357 for some reason. If I could get it with wood grips, or put some on it, I'd probably be interested. Will be interested to see what street price winds up being.

Picked up this Rossi RM64 earlier this month and still have not had time to try it out. I’m actually impressed with it so far, especially for the price. Good trigger, tight lock up, and feels good in the hand ! Really like the wide yet smooth trigger. I prefer 3” barrel revolvers but got this one at a decent price on Gunbroker, $412 plus tax from a local FFL. No shipping and no transfer fee.

having a hard time picking between the Rossi or Henry revolver?!?!?!?

Rossi is Cool
Henry is so Ugly, it’s Cool

To me the Henry revolver looks like Heritage Arms tried to make a Webley/Colt 1878 Lightening in double action.
I had a Rossi .22lr . I was fond of it but became cash strapped and sold it to a friend. It was a budget M63 S&W.

I've had 2 different rossies at 1 time or another both were 44 specials, one was the covert and one was with the exposed hammer. I really like both guns. The reason why I did not keep them is because Rossi became no more and Taurus would not support them after buying them out or whatever it was.
Should a Rossi revolver (at the time) go out of time or need a firing pin replacement who would do the work?

I had 2 Rossi 44 specials back in the day. I've handled and shot a couple of their 22 revolvers. I really like them. They have Smith and Wesson lines they have firing pins on the hammer they do not have locks and they are fairly well built. The fit and finish on the samples that I had was very good. Somehow they became defunct or whatever when they were involved with Taurus. Hopefully they can make a come back. Parts and service unavailability is a killer.
