Yeah, I ain't happy.
Already talked with S&W, they were very apologetic, but there's still a return and delay to get to use it. Real PIA.
What makes this stink even more is it's the first brand new gun I've bought in over 30 years. I buy only selected used vintage guns I've been hunting for.

John, that is a real bummer. I would ask for a new one in exchange. I bought a brand new Kimber back in the 90's when they first came out. The finish was horrible, sent it back, they replaced the slide (non matching SN), sent it back again for the proper match. They ended up sending a brand new 1911. Raise HELL!!!!!!

I'm taking it back up to the gun shop today. I decided to let them handle things.
I'm going to ask them about a straight across exchange, they have quite a few of this model in stock, but the way record keeping and 4473s are now days I don't know if shops can do that any more.
