New savage rifles

Perhaps, but the RA's stocks aren't modular. This was a good move from Savage. Every manufacturer has their own version now of cheap plastic stocks. Savage just upped the ante a bit.
The rimfires are modular, why they didnt adapt that to the centerfire line i dont know. Probably because the molds were already done when the rimfires came out.

Savage has done a good job at offering nice, pseudo innovative features on a regular basis. That keeps the value of buying a savage up there in my book. They do seem to get rougher, and rougher finished as time goes on, and the base cost gets higher and higher.

savage seems to be making the mags cheaper every year. i do like the looks off these tho
This is my biggest beef with Savage - the magazines. They seem to be an afterthought. My rounds feed so smooth from my Tikka and Howa plastic mags, and yet Savage clings to those stamped metal magazines that are easily bent and seem to always have feeding issues, not to mention the catch system that is not the best. I'd rather they just go the route of Tikka and use all plastic mags, or offer up a hinged floorplate on their hunting rifes. IMO a hinged floorplate is the best system for a hunting rifle.
